When innovation stops, it's a sign a company has transitioned to just milking it's customers for money using prior gained reputation. Two main examples of this are Nintendo and Apple.
Nintendo has stopped trying to create something new and unique. The same goes for Apple. For Apple, each generation is essentially the same except some minor spec changes and slightly moving the cameras or adding/removing some.
The worst part is, how hard it is to fix them or upgrade them yourself. The markup for even simple features such as increasing storage size are absurd.
Even just attempting to mod their devices is a bit tricky, with for example Nitendo black listing your device.
