After dinner, the little tyke played with building blocks on his own, and after taking a bath, Mr. Su Bai saw Lucky accompanying the little one in the living room, so he went straight back to the bedroom. Upon entering the bedroom, Mr. Su Bai saw the painting on the bed.
With a slight frown, Mr. Su Bai knew Lucky had placed the painting there, and it was likely a reminder to himself, possibly related to the phone call he had hung up.

But it was precisely because he knew what his childhood was like that he transferred some of his repression and anger about it indirectly onto the painting; it was, in fact, an accomplice in deceiving himself.
