"First love?"
William's expression instantly turned irritated.
"I told you already…" he said firmly. "You are my first love."
He rubbed his face for a second before continuing quickly, almost like he was worried she would misunderstand him again.
"I didn't even know Penelope before learning about my father's disapproval toward her."
His brows furrowed tightly. "And after that, for five whole years, I never met her even once."
William pointed toward the direction of the office building unconsciously.
"Today was literally the first time."
The long explanation spilled out one after another as if he desperately wanted to make his position clear.
Meanwhile, Thalia only stared at him quietly. Her expression turned complicated. Because she knew he wasn't lying.
At least… not this version of him.
She lowered her gaze slightly, wondering how she was supposed to explain something that happened more than a hundred years ago without sounding completely insane.
