Chapter 3 - The Arrival

Luna turned toward the voice and saw Max and Chris walking over.

Just two minutes earlier, a notification had sounded in Max's mind. "Ding. Legendary class potential detected. Proceed with recruitment?"

"Open recruitment information."

[Name: Luna Blaze. Class: Nanny. Grade: High. Potential (Legendary): Can be recruited as a Brilliant Thunder Swordmaster.]

Max had chosen Luna for two reasons. First, her potential was two tier below Chris. Second, he could not stand watching a talented girl lose all hope in her dreams. And if he was being completely honest with himself, he was also very attracted to her beauty.

Max walked straight up to Luna, looked her in the eyes, and said, "Want to party up? We are two and need one more."

Luna looked at the pair. A flicker of gratitude appeared deep in her eyes, but she still spoke seriously.

"Since we are going to be teammates, I should be honest from the start. My class is Nanny, and I only have 3 points in my base attributes. I remember you are a Recruiter and he is a Blacksmith, so we should..."

Before she could finish, Max interrupted her. "Relax. I believe in you."

A warm surge of trust filled Luna's heart.

Chris added from the side, "Don't worry. With me here, I will carry the whole team."

The students nearby were stunned. They thought these two must be hopeless simps willing to throw away their lives just for a beautiful girl.

...

Dong.

A loud bell rang across the field, signaling the end of the Awakening Ceremony and the official start of the Freshman Dungeon Trial.

Countless specks of starlight gathered into a glowing curtain of light in the center of the playground.

"The Freshman Dungeon Trial officially begins now."

As soon as the principal finished speaking, hundreds of students entered the light curtain in groups.

Watching the students, the principal murmured to himself, "I hope all these kids return safely."

His gaze then landed on Max's trio, who had not entered yet. "Especially you three with your non-combat classes. If you run into danger, give up immediately. Do not joke with your lives."

"The Teleportation Watch on your wrist is not for decoration. It is a life-saving item. Do not hesitate to use it."

After several deadly trials in the past, the Kingdom of Valoria had created this Teleportation Watch. Pressing the button would instantly send the user back to safety. However, using it meant giving up the path of a professional forever.

Max grinned, showing a row of bright white teeth. "Don't worry, Principal. We promise to bring back first place for you."

With that, he turned and stepped into the light curtain together with Luna and Chris.

The principal was stunned for a moment, then cursed under his breath. "That brat. I will thank the heavens if you three just come back alive. You must come back alive..."

...

A flash of golden light engulfed them, and the scenery changed completely.

Before the trio could get their bearings, the roar of beasts shattered the silence. All three turned toward the sound.

Luna exclaimed, "Those are Striped Tigers. Heavens, there are at least ten of them. We dropped right into their nest..."

Cold sweat broke out on her forehead. "Do I have to use the Teleportation Watch already? But I am so unwilling..."

Chris's lips curled into a confident smile. "Perfect timing. These guys will be my first test subjects."

He turned to Luna and said, "Sister, relax. Didn't I say I would carry?"

Chris stepped forward to a good casting position.

Luna warned, "Don't force it. You are just a non-combat Blacksmith..."

Without wasting words, Chris raised his hand and shouted, "Fireball."

"What? Fireball. You are not a Blacksmith. You are a Mage."

But the scene that followed left Luna completely speechless. This was not an ordinary Fireball. This was pure destruction.

After being cast by a Forbidden Spellcaster, the simple Fireball had transformed into the Forbidden Spell: World-Burning Meteor.

Dozens of meteor-like fireballs rained from the sky, instantly reshaping the terrain and wiping out the entire pack of Striped Tigers.

Students far away noticed the spectacular explosion.

"What the hell is that?"

"It looks like fireballs."

"Wait, I don't remember any powerful Mages awakening this time."

"Mage lord, please let me carry your bags."

Of course, Chris had no idea about the commotion he had caused.

Luna stood frozen in shock, unable to speak.

Chris looked at the area now smelling of roasted meat, nodded in satisfaction, and walked back smugly. "Hey, sister. Come back to earth."

Only then did Luna find her voice. "You are a Mage. But I clearly remember you awakened as a Blacksmith. How?"

Chris thought for a moment before answering, "I did awaken as a Blacksmith, but I received a second awakening. It is all thanks to my godfather, Max Steel. As you know, he is a Recruiter..."

While Chris was talking excitedly, Max coughed loudly.

Chris immediately understood and stepped aside.

Max continued, "You got one thing wrong. Chris is not a Mage. He is a Forbidden Spellcaster, and it is a Unique Hidden Class."

Luna covered her mouth, her eyes wide with disbelief.

Seeing her reaction, Max smiled and asked three direct questions.

"Luna, do you want to become a combat class?"

"Do you want those who mocked you to look at you with new respect?"

"Do you want to become strong, just like Chris?"

Luna answered without any hesitation. "I do. Of course I do. As long as I can become a combat class, I will do anything."

Max nodded with satisfaction. "Very well. I will give you this chance."

A light curtain appeared in front of Luna.

[Detection: Professional is being recruited. Recruitment class is the Legendary class: Brilliant Thunder Swordmaster. Confirm recruitment?]

Luna clicked confirm without a second thought. Hesitating even for a moment would be an insult to a Legendary class.

A miracle happened again. A massive pillar of orange light shot straight into the clouds.

Max was puzzled. "System, why was there no anomaly when Chris was recruited, but such a huge commotion for Luna's Legendary class?"

"Ding. Host, to avoid unnecessary panic, the system has one chance to mask anomalies. Therefore, during the host's first recruitment, the system directly masked the anomaly for you."

"What? Does that mean there will be a big commotion for every recruitment from now on? What if it causes trouble?"

"The host can spend five hundred recruitment points to mask the anomalies caused during recruitment."

Hearing this, Max felt relieved.

However, the massive light pillar had already attracted the attention of other students in the trial. "That is a huge anomaly. A heavenly treasure must have appeared. Let's go check it out."

After a long while, Luna's transformation was complete. She looked at her new attributes in amazement.

[Strength]: 45

[Agility]: 25

[Constitution]: 25

[Spirit]: 30

Her base attributes had increased more than tenfold. Electric arcs danced around her body as she trembled with excitement.

Max checked the updated class information.

[Recruiter: Can recruit an awakened Professional into a potential class based on their potential. Note: Limited to current class grade and below. Current Class Grade: Unique Hidden. Current Recruit Count: 2. Available Recruit Slots: 8]

Luna's Brilliant Thunder Swordmaster attributes were now shared with him.

Current attributes:

[Strength]: 105

[Agility]: 80

[Constitution]: 70

[Spirit]: 120

Seeing these numbers, Max made up his mind. Recruit. He had to keep recruiting.

Hahaha. Supreme Realm, here I come.

Max suppressed his excitement and looked at Luna. "Luna, from now on, you are mine."

Before Luna could reply, Chris jumped in with a grin. "What? Luna is my godmother..."
