Chapter 13 - Zorro?

Surveillance?

Sora Yukihara paused for a moment, immediately connecting it to what had happened to Peter's family.

Since arriving in this world, he hadn't interacted with many forces.

The Ten Rings had already been wiped out.

That left only two—S.H.I.E.L.D. and Oscorp.

His current relationship with S.H.I.E.L.D. was decent. As long as they had any sense, they wouldn't provoke him now.

Which meant—

Oscorp.

"Alright. We'll talk later."

Sora Yukihara ended the call with a cold expression.

Looking toward Oscorp's direction, he muttered darkly, "You kidnapped my future crew member and are now watching me… looks like my warning wasn't enough."

According to the main quest, he needed three extraordinary members for his pirate crew.

With his current strength and reputation, recruiting people was nearly impossible.

Even if he forced them through power, betrayal would always be a risk—a ticking time bomb.

Sora Yukihara didn't want that.

He would rather have fewer but better.

And the best candidate?

Peter Parker.

Though Peter was only one of several options, he was by far the most suitable in the current situation.

Now that his "future subordinate" had been kidnapped—

How could Sora Yukihara tolerate it?

One thought surfaced in his mind:

An eye for an eye.

"You kidnapped Peter?"

"Then I'll kidnap your only son."

Peter's house.

"Qin! You're back—come in, quickly."

Aunt May glanced around nervously before pulling him inside.

Sora Yukihara scanned the surroundings.

With his enhanced perception from the String-String Fruit, he could now detect subtle attention—almost like sensing invisible threads.

Perhaps even sight itself was a kind of "thread."

Aunt May looked much older than a week ago, clearly worn down by recent events.

"Don't worry, Aunt May. I'll handle it."

Sora Yukihara reassured her and asked, "Is the briefcase still here?"

She shook her head.

Sora Yukihara frowned instantly. Black Cat had already returned it.

Aunt May explained, "After Ben disappeared, Peter got a mysterious phone call. He rushed out with the briefcase… and never came back."

"So it really was you."

Sora Yukihara's expression turned cold.

Aunt May didn't notice, continuing, "I called the police, and they opened an investigation… but after two days, there's no progress at all."

Boom!

A violent explosion echoed from the distance.

The shockwave reached even Peter's house.

"That's no ordinary explosion…"

"I'll go check."

Sora Yukihara stepped outside.

The street was in chaos—people running in panic, residents pouring out of their homes.

At the far end, a massive car accident had triggered a chain explosion.

Vehicles had collided and detonated, flames spreading rapidly to nearby buildings.

Boom after boom—

The entire street descended into chaos.

Roar!

A massive creature leapt out of the flames, landing on a parked car and shattering all its windows.

"Dr. Connors… the Lizard."

Sora Yukihara recognized him immediately.

"What's going on?"

Even he was confused—despite the altered timeline, Connors had still transformed.

The Lizard didn't hear him.

Instead, it charged straight toward Peter's house.

Its target was clear.

"Why?!"

"Why did he succeed while I failed?!"

"Why?!"

The Lizard roared in frustration.

"Too many people around… I need a disguise."

Sora Yukihara glanced around and spotted a black scarf hanging nearby.

With a flick of his threads, he pulled it over, cut two eye holes, and tied it around his face.

It only covered his eyes, but it was enough to obscure his identity.

He stepped into the middle of the street.

Catching a glimpse of himself in a car mirror, he smirked. "Huh… I actually look a bit like Zorro. Not bad. Childhood dream fulfilled."

"Peter!"

"His house is right there!"

"There must be more research data hidden inside!"

"If I find it, I can fix the flaws in my experiment!"

The Lizard roared as it charged forward.

Bang!

A bicycle slammed into its head.

Sora Yukihara stood in its path. "Big lizard, this isn't your place."

"Get out of my way!"

The Lizard ripped off a car hood and hurled it at him.

But the metal stopped midair.

"Not very obedient, are you?"

Sora Yukihara rose slowly into the air, looking down at him. "Dr. Connors, I don't like your appearance. And I definitely don't like looking up at people."

"Who are you?!"

The Lizard was stunned.

Inside the house, Aunt May covered her mouth in shock, barely holding back a scream.

She never imagined that the kind, polite young man who cared about them… was actually a superhuman.

The Lizard demanded again, "Who are you? How do you know my identity?"

"Dr. Connors… why did you become like this?"

"Why are you here?"

Sora Yukihara's eyes turned cold. His voice followed. "You get one chance. If you don't cooperate… I'll make sure you won't even be able to crawl like a lizard."
