"We are Elders of the Moon Resplendent Sect! Every hopeful Disciple in the immediate area please make your way to the pavilion in order to be tested! You have until noon tomorrow to gather here!"
A booming, powerful voice echoed throughout our mountain as the Elders of the Moon Resplendent Sect announced their arrival to our town, causing many hopeful people - young and old - to rush to their feet and make the journey over to the pavilion.
I was one of them, and although I had been in the middle of hoisting a large boulder up onto my shoulders I knew I wanted to get this over with as soon as possible because just waiting any longer would make my nerves grow in abundance.
Shifting the boulder to the side and letting it drop off of my shoulders, I stepped aside as a wave of mud splashed up from the impact, and then proceeded to flinch as Mother shouted my name from inside when she heard the crash.
"Isabella!"
