"Then... That means that this is goodbye, right..?"
I swallowed down a bit of sadness as I looked between my two adoptive parents, my heart tightening uncomfortably in my chest while my eyes stung for a brief moment as I realized what was happening.
Sensing that immediately, Mother stepped forwards and batted my arm before wrapping me in a hug, pressing her face against my chest as she said "Only for now, you silly girl. We'll be in the city in a week or so, alright? Besides, your brothers are already up there, waiting for you...", and although her voice was quite muffled I could still tell that she was as shaken up as I was.
In a few days our family had almost completely uprooted itself from a spot that we had been located at for... well, quite a long time; my entire life, Giovanni's entire life, and apparently Father's entire life too.
