Chapter 6 - New Decision:

Night had fallen.

Ayaan put on his black coat, picked up his bag, and checked the silver locket around his neck once again.

Then he wore the silver ring on the fourth finger of his left hand.

He walked into the drawing room.

Ayaan: Bye, Mom… bye, Dad.

His parents simply looked at him in silence.

Ayaan stepped outside and quickly started his car.

Tonight, he wasn't heading to the office…

he was eager to meet Alina.

Within a short time, he reached the bus stop.

He parked his car by the roadside and slowly walked toward the stand.

His heart was beating fast.

After five days…

he was finally going to see her again.

Now, all he could do was wait.

The Meeting Again:

Ayaan stood at the bus stop, checking his watch again and again.

His heart raced with every passing second.

All he could think about was—

when it would be 8:40…

and when Alina would step off that bus.

After five long days…

he was finally going to see her.

Every second felt longer than usual.

Then, from a distance, the headlights of a bus cut through the fog.

The bus arrived and stopped at the stand.

Ayaan's heartbeat quickened.

The doors opened—

and Alina stepped down.

Her eyes went straight to Ayaan.

But something was different today.

The soft smile that once lit her face… was gone.

Instead, there was clear anger in her eyes.

She looked at him—

and without saying a word, started walking ahead.

Ayaan quickly followed her.

Ayaan: Alina… wait! Please, just listen to me.

Alina stopped.

She slowly turned toward him.

Alina: Listen to what? What do you even want to say?

Her voice carried anger.

Alina: First, you offered friendship… and when we actually became friends, you disappeared the very next day. Like you never even existed.

Ayaan fell silent for a moment.

He knew he was about to lie… but he couldn't tell her the truth.

Ayaan: I'm really sorry… actually, I had to go to another city for office work.

He paused slightly.

Ayaan: And I didn't have your number… so I couldn't contact you.

Alina looked at him for a few seconds.

Then she took out her phone.

Alina: Fine… save my number. And give me yours.

Ayaan quickly took out his phone.

They exchanged numbers.

Alina spoke in a slightly strict tone—

Alina: I'm forgiving you this time… but if this happens again—

She looked straight into his eyes.

Alina: I won't forgive you. And I won't talk to you again.

Ayaan smiled faintly.

Ayaan: Thank you… now that I have your number, it won't happen again.

They started walking toward her home.

After a while, Ayaan asked—

Ayaan: By the way… who all are there in your family?

For a brief moment, a hint of pain appeared in Alina's eyes.

Alina: Just me… and my mom.

She paused for a second.

Alina: My father passed away in an accident many years ago.

She gave a small smile.

Alina: That's why, along with my studies, I teach kids at an institute… to support our home.

Then she looked at Ayaan.

Alina: What about you?

Ayaan spoke softly—

Ayaan: My family is small too… just me and my parents.

His voice lowered slightly.

Ayaan: My elder brother passed away five years ago.

Then he looked ahead.

Ayaan: So now… it's just the three of us.

By then, they had reached near Alina's house.

Ayaan stopped.

Ayaan: Alright… your house is here.

Alina smiled lightly and extended her hand.

They shook hands.

Alina: Good night.

Ayaan: Good night.

They both went their separate ways.

After that day, everything slowly returned to normal.

They started talking for hours on the phone every day.

They met every night…

and as always, Ayaan walked Alina back to her house.

Even during the day, they stayed on long calls, talking and laughing.

Lost in conversations…

they didn't even realize—

when four months passed by.

And in those four months…

something deeper had grown in their hearts for each other.
