Chapter 5 - Distance:

The next night, Ayaan got ready for the office again.

He wore his black coat, checked the silver locket around his neck, and walked into the drawing room to say goodbye to his parents.

Just as he was about to leave, his mother's voice stopped him.

Mom: Beta… remember one thing. Whoever that girl is… stay away from her. It will be better for us, and for her too.

Ayaan fell silent for a moment.

Then he gave a slight nod.

Ayaan: Okay, Mom… Dad. I understand. Bye.

He stepped out of the house, started his car, and drove straight toward his office.

Tonight, he had made a decision…

he wouldn't meet Alina.

At the same time, Alina was standing at the bus stop.

It was night. A light fog covered the road, and the cold wind brushed against her.

She kept looking toward the road again and again.

She felt like Ayaan would show up any moment.

5 minutes…

10 minutes…

20 minutes…

She kept waiting.

Half an hour passed.

With a hint of frustration, she muttered to herself—

Alina: Where is he? Is he taking revenge for yesterday… because I was late?

A faint smile appeared on her face.

Alina: Boys…

But time kept passing.

The area around the bus stop grew quieter.

Alina stood there alone.

After waiting for nearly 35 minutes, she looked around.

The road was completely empty now.

She took a deep breath…

and slowly started walking toward her home.

Days passed like this.

For five nights, Alina came to the same bus stop…

and waited for Ayaan.

But he never showed up.

Each night, her hope faded a little more.

And then…

on the fifth day, she finally broke.

Tears filled her eyes.

With a mix of anger and pain, she said to herself—

Alina: What kind of person is he…? First, he offered friendship… and now that we're friends, he just disappeared.

She wiped her tears.

Alina: To hell with it… I'm not waiting for him anymore.

It had been five days since Ayaan disappeared.

And today, Alina made a decision—

she wouldn't wait for him anymore.

But the story wasn't over yet…

The question still remained—

Would Ayaan and Alina meet again?

Or…

was this where their story would end?

# The Breaking Point:

It had been five days since Ayaan and Alina last saw each other.

But in these five days, Ayaan had completely lost himself.

At the office, he couldn't focus at all. In the middle of work, he would drift off into his own thoughts.

Alina's face kept appearing in his mind again and again.

At home, things weren't any different.

He spent most of his time in his room, barely talking to his parents.

Seeing all this, his mother had grown deeply worried.

The next evening, she quietly walked into Ayaan's room.

He was sitting on his bed, staring out of the window.

She came and stood beside him.

Mom: Beta… you're this disturbed because of that normal girl, aren't you?

Ayaan lifted his gaze slightly and looked at her, but said nothing.

His mother spoke softly—

Mom: I know everything. But you understand, don't you… we are vampires. If we fall in love with a normal human… and if that relationship goes any further… do you know what could happen?

Silence filled the room for a moment.

Then Ayaan spoke quietly—

Ayaan: I know, Mom… if I fall in love with her… and if we get closer… it could create a huge problem.

There was pain in his voice.

Ayaan: But even then… I've fallen in love with her. What am I supposed to do now?

His mother remained silent for a few seconds.

Then she placed her hand gently on his shoulder.

Mom: Alright, beta… you're grown up now. This is your decision to make.

Her voice trembled slightly.

Mom: But remember one thing… after losing your brother, we can't afford to lose you too.

Ayaan looked at her, shocked.

Then, his mother took out a small silver ring from her hand.

Mom: If you still want to meet that girl… then wear this on the fourth finger of your left hand.

Ayaan looked at the ring carefully.

Mom: This ring, along with your locket… will help you control your powers even more.

She gave a faint smile.

Mom: So that nothing like last time happens again… when you met her.

Ayaan slowly took the ring.

Ayaan: Thank you… Mom.

His mother quietly looked at him for a moment…

and then walked out of the room.
