"Oh Miss Black good, follow me please" Lyra frowned but didn't make a move to argue with the professor who was walking at a very fast pace to the headmasters office "Twix" McGonagall spoke to the gargoyle who stood guard, it moved to the side showcasing the stairs that lead upwards.
"Minerva good timing" Albus smiled and Lyra saw Cho Chang, Hermione and Gabrielle Delacour inside waiting "Now girls i know this is probably strange but i need your help with the next task" the old man spoke at the girls less then to them, it was a strange experience, it gave no option to deny.
"You see we need someone that is loved by the champions, and we have been watching, you four fit exactly what we need. I know this is scary but you won't even realise, it will be like you have just woken from a deep refreshing sleep"
"Forgive me sir but what exactly did you want us to do?" Hermione asked from her seat as she unwrapped a sherbet lemon Albus had handed out.
"Ah, you see dear girl, the next trial will be in the Black lake but fear not each of you will be placed under a sleeping spell in addition to a spell that will allow you to breath under water, the moment you hit fresh air upon breaking the water with your allotted champion the spells will lift and you will be fine" Albus leant back in his seat "Miss Delacour your champion will be your sister, nothing is more important then family after all"
Lyra held back the scoff that wanted to break free, how quant, wasn't it after all his own sister who died because of him? And she knows he does no speak to his brother who works and presumably lives close by.
"Miss Chang, your champion will be Mr Diggory" the Ravenclaw girl blushed looking down at her lap with a happy smile.
"Miss Granger, your champion will be Mr Krum" Hermione looked gobsmacked, she had clearly guessed who she was there for but her and Viktor had barely met let alone her become the thing he loved the very most.
"Which means Miss Black that your champion will be Mr Potter"
"Sir i believe you are mistaken, everyone knows Harry and Ron are closer then anything" Lyra frowned at the barmy old man.
Albus shook his head "We discussed it but after everything that had happened between the two boys recently it came to light how you two have seemed to have bonded now being in the same house hold..." the old man carried on as if he hadn't just insinuated anything "Right, we will be putting you each under the spell tonight and you will be placed into the lake early morning, wouldn't want to give anything away to the champions now would we?" he winked.

"Are you sure about this Neville? For an hour?" Harry took the slimy Gillyweed from Neville and held it in his hand giving it a once over.
Neville nodded "Most likely"
"Most likely?" Ron frowned looking at the ingredient with a look of distain.
"Well, there is some debate between Herbologists as to the effect between fresh water verses salt water"
"You're telling me this now? You must be joking!" Harry gaped at the boy who's eyes widened slight.
Ron grimaced but moved to help Neville "You always have the spell you and Lyra have been working on if it fails mate"
"I was just trying to help" Neville muttered as they moved to the dock to climb into a boat.
"Well you're a right sight better then Lyra and Hermione, where are they anyway?" Harry turned eyes darting over the crowd trying to see curls either black or brown, preferably both.
"You seem a little tense Harry" Neville looked at Ron who shrugged climbing into the boat.
Harry however kept scanning the crowd "Do i?"
~~~
On the platform over the middle of the lake Harry was shoved to join the other champions, somewhere to the left he could hear Sirius cheering but Lyra wasn't with him.
"Welcome to the second task. Last night, something was stolen from each of our champions, a treasure of sorts. These four treasures, one for each champion now lie on the bottom of the black lake, in order to win each champion need only to find their treasure and return to the surface. Simple enough except for this: They will have but one hour to do this, and one hour only."
"Put that in your mouth" Moody growled at Harry as he listened to Dumbledore speak, Harry grimaced but shoved the Gillyweed into his mouth and forcefully swallowed around it forcing it down.
"After that, they'll be on their own, no magic will save them" Dumbledore continued but something about it made Harry pause, his eyes scanned the crowd once more. When Dumbledore said 'them' did he mean the champions or...His eyes drifted to the water below him, or their treasures "You may begin at the sound of the canon"
The canon immediately sounded, three champions dived in while Harry seemed to be choking on something as he gripped the side of his neck, no one could check on him though because Moody shoved him into the water roughly.
Under the surface Harry struggled, thrashing around as his neck felt like it was ripping apart but after a few agonising moments the pain went away and he could breath freely. His hand came back up and he could feel the gills on both sides of his neck, looking down his feet were no long human looking instead they looked like flesh coloured flippers and even his fingers were now webbed.
As he swam he didn't realise just how vast the lake was until then, it was so deep every time he thought he'd reached the bed it would be just another cliff face and he saw it went much deeper then the first drop. Along the way he seemed to be welcomed into a small school of fish who had decided to follow his every move...That was until he came to a large wall of seaweed the moment he separated the weeds to enter the fish disburse and swam away.
It made him want to turn back but he could hear singing faintly so he knew forward was the way he had to go and surprisingly enough to his right he saw a glimpse of Fleurs hair as she swam just a few feet away. Harry kept swimming but after who knows how long he was thrown to the side by a heavy weight, when he righted himself he saw a mermaid had swam passed and he set off to follow it.
The mermaid swam a lot faster then he could but it seemed to be stopping after a few minutes looking back at him, as if waiting for him to catch up, when they broke free of the seaweed he noticed a huge stone arch. It seemed like a meeting place for the mermaids because there were many around, each stopping to look at him but none moved closer as he passed. That was when he saw four people floating inside the arch, each tied by the ankle to the rocks below to stop them from floating off.
Harry swam right to her, he grabbed her face in both of his hands but Lyra gave no movement, not even a twitch. Somehow she was breathing though, small air bubbles was leaving her nose but other then that she simply floated. Her curls had at some point gotten weighted out and her hair was now floating around her in a long mass of tresses.
Next to her in an identical fashion was Hermione, her own hair straightened out but appeared more frazzled like she had been worried going into the water, further down the line was Cho Chang and what looked to be Fleur's sister who couldn't be more then eight.
He knew Lyra was down here for him, some sick part of him was even glad others had noticed and maybe now that French prat would stop sniffing around, he'd already told Sirius about Beau Dupont but then again Lyra wasn't His like that she was his best friend...
Harry flipped down to start unknotting the seaweed which tied her ankle to the stones beneath her but they were tight knots and his fingers were now webbed. The mermaids around him scattered and he looked over to see Cedric slashing the seaweed off of Cho's ankle, the boy linked arms with Cho and tapped his watch at Harry, it was clearly getting close to the time limit.
He watched Cedric swim upwards as he went to cut Hermione's fastenings but Harry was quickly stopped by a trident being placed against his throat "But she's my friend too"
"Only one!" the mermaid hissed at him but then her eyes widened and she was quick to speed off, he turned and almost had a heart attack when he saw a shark heading towards him, only the shark passed him snapped through the seaweed holding Hermione tied down. The shark had human legs which was used to push him and Hermione up to the surface clearly being Krum.
Harry moved back up to Lyra and took her arm but when he saw the tiny girl he couldn't help but pause and look around for her sister, Fleur wasn't far behind him so where the hell was she? He also noticed that Krum had scared all the mermaids off. Making up his mind he flicked his wand and cut the seaweed off of the young girl, grabbed her arm he started the slow ascent upwards with the two girls.
Along the way however something grabbed his ankle and dragged him backwards, he looked down expecting to see another mermaid but instead he saw a squid looking thing, a grindylow. He tried to fight it off but where there is one, there is hundreds, Harry watched one try to latch on to Lyra's shoulder but he hit it off and pushed both girls upwards hoping they would continue floating upwards.
He was quickly overwhelmed but he finally remembered his wand and stunned them, they all blinked before racing off but Harrys gillyweed was wearing off and he was hurting, he looked up to see Lyra and the girl but could no longer see them.
That would be because Lyra and Gabrielle had breached the waters surface with loud gasps, the young girl latched onto Lyra "Savez-vous nager?" Lyra spat water from her mouth as she kicked her feet keeping both herself and Gabrielle above water. (Can you swim?)
"Non" the young girl whimpered. (No)
"Je t'ai, tiens-moi bien, d'accord?" Lyra soothed the girl and moved the girl to lay flat on her back while she grabbed Gabrielle with one arm, using her legs to mainly push them forward Lyra moved towards the stands bobbing in the water. (I've got you, hold on to me, okay?)
By the steps was a deeply worried looking Fleur, she was holding onto the ladder with one hand while reaching out as far as she could with her other, she had been denied entrance to the water due to her failing the task. Lyra reached the platform quickly and handed the young girl over to her older sister who helped Gabrielle climb the platform, moments later Hermione was all but ripping Lyra from the water and onto the platform with the help of Beau.
She was quickly followed by Harry being thrusted from the water and onto the platform and the crowd went wild cheering, chanting, it was so loud she could see Hermione's mouth moving but the words were lost before they could make it to Lyra's ears. Neville was quick to wrap a towel around Lyra's shoulder as she was lead towards where the others were being seen to by Madam Promfrey.
"You! You zaved 'er even thou' she wazn't yourz to zave, my little sister! Thank you!" Fleur kissed Harry's cheeks as Gabrielle stopped by Lyra's shivering form, the Black heir rested her hand on the girls head smoothing the sodden hair downwards.
"Est-ce que tu vas bien? Tu as été contrôlé non?" She whispered and the young girl nodded clutching her towel to herself tightly as she smiled shyly up at Lyra. (Are you okay? You were checked right?)
"And you! You 'elped!" Fleur stood and stopped in front of Lyra clutching her face.
"Happy to help" Lyra grinned winking at Gabrielle and Fleur chuckled kissing both of her cheeks as well.
"Well thank you" Fleur nodded and lead Gabrielle off to get dried and redressed.
"Harry, are you alright?" Hermione moved to Harry's side giving him her own towel "Personally i think you behaved admirably"
Harry shook his head shivering from the cold "Hermione i finished last"
"Next to last, Fleur never got passed the grindylows" Hermione grinned and Dumbledore passed trying to get everyone's attention.
"ATTENTION!" he used a spell to amplify his voice making everyone closest to him cover their ears "The winner is Mr Diggory, who showed an innate command of the bubble head charm. However, seeing as Mr Potter would have finished first had it not been for his determination to rescue not only Miss Black but the others as well. We've agreed to award him second place for outstanding moral fibre"
"Second place" Hermione grinned at Harry who smiled as Madame Pomfrey looked him over.
The way back to the school was a weird one to say the least, Hermione was happy but also embarrassed at all the attention she was getting about being Krums 'loved one', Ron was happy for Harry but also confused as to why he wasn't picked but he had an idea as to why and made no move to put more strain on their healing friendship by mentioning it. Harry was the happiest and was joking with the Weasley twins but it was Lyra who sat silently watching the castle get closer.
Many things were wrong, not only did 'moral fibre' not equate to giving Harry second place but the fact they were disregarding rules when they couldn't refuse the one about Harry joining even though him being accepting was also breaking a rule rubbed her the wrong way. Lyra also wasn't too please with being at the bottom of the lake, it was meant to be Ronald instead they had chosen her and she wasn't sure why.
Lyra hated the fact that she liked Harry and not the childish 'you're my friend' like but the 'When i look at you my stomach ignites with butterflies, my cheeks heat and i'm hooked on every word you say' type. But Lyra knew what was to come, who was going to have Harry's heart at the end of this story and she would always be a friend, there was nothing wrong with that she just had to simply distance her heart from the boy.
"Congratulations Mr Potter" Crouch Senior broke her concentration but instead of stopped she just kept moving towards the castle with the others not far behind her, Hermione convinced her to stop by Hagrids and that's how she found herself walking with the others and Hagrid back to the castle in the dark.
"I remember when i first met you all, biggest bunch of misfits i ever laid eyes on, suppose you remind me of myself a little and here we all are, four years later" Hagrid grinned his good mood was nice to see.
Ron chuckled "We're still a bunch of misfits"
"Well maybe but we've all got each other, and Harry of course. Soon to be the youngest Triwizard Champion there's ever been! Hooray!" Hagrid yelled and started singing the Hogwarts song, he was quickly followed by Ron and Hermione but Lyra didn't sing the song instead she waited.
Lyra didn't have to wait long because Harry found Crouch's body "Shame" Lyra hummed and waited until she was able to go back to the castle, upon doing so she went straight to the kitchens, she had waited until this moment because the magic would be fresh from Crouch's death.
"Dobby?" she called and the elf appeared quickly.
"Little Miss Lyra! What a good surprise, what can Dobby bes doing for you?"
She crouched down "Is Winky here?"
Her elf friend sobered up quickly and nodded not meeting her eyes "Dobby has tried everything, he bes doing everything Kreacher taught him but nothing is working!" he took her hand and lead her backwards towards the elves rooms, there is a makeshift common room of sorts and there sat a few elves, Winky however was sat by herself sobbing and throwing empty butterbeer bottles to the ground when she finished them "Little Miss helps Dobby?"
"Of course Dobby" she smiled and moved towards the crying elf "Winky?" her head snapped upwards and she hiccupped.
"Miss Lyra?" the elf sniffled as she tried to pull back her tears "What is Miss Lyra doing here?"
"I came to talk to you, is that alright?" Lyra asked softly and the elf shrugged "May i sit?"
Winky squeaked "Of course! Miss Lyra doesn't need to ask Winky to sit!"
Lyra sat down at the table, she was sure she may have looked a little silly being as the furniture was made for the purpose of elves but she held her dignity and made the move look graceful as if she belonged in the smaller then most chair at the short table. She was followed by Dobby who was studying his friends closely "I am here because i have heard that you are not doing too well, is that right?" both elves nodded "Which part is it may i ask, the being a free elf or working here?"
Winky started to sob "Free elf! Winky is a good elf, always a good elf and now no family will take Winky! Winky want's a family!" Dobby patted his friends hand even if he couldn't fully understand.
Lyra had to be very careful with what she did now but she had already spoken to Kreacher about it at Yule ball and after a bit...No, a lot of explaining he had understood what she was doing, it helped he still didn't enjoy her fathers presence. Lyra cleared her voice softly "What if i told you i knew of a family who were looking for an elf or two?"
The moment the words left her mouth Winky climbed onto the table and rushed her "Please! Please!" the elf sobbed as she begged quite literally on her knees in front of Lyra "Winky is a good elf! She can cook and clean! And...And many things, anything! Winky learns if need be!"
Lyra shushed the elf softly as she took her hands gently allowing the elf to pull back if she wished to but Winky clutched her hands tightly as if, if she let go Lyra would disappear "It's me Winky, my family would love to take you on as our elf if you'd allow us?"
The elf wailed, her words becoming a slur of cries to the point Lyra couldn't make any of it out but she just waited patiently "Miss Lyra is looking for more elves? She has Kreacher?" Dobby frowned head tilting gently.
"I do, Kreacher is my friend and i spoke to him of this before but we both agree that my father needs an elf, a companion if you will" Lyra turned to Winky who was still crying "I don't know if you heard Winky but my father was falsely accused of something and put into Azkaban but we got him cleared of everything and now he's back at home but you see my father and Kreacher do not get along very well...Would you be willing to join our family?"
Winky nodded so fast Lyra was worried she'd give herself whiplash "Yes! Winky accepts! She does!"
"Before we do anything of that there are a few things i need you to understand alright?" Lyra spoke softly but even still she saw the elf become deadly still "We will never make you do anything you wish not too, ever! But to do so we need you to be honest with us about how you feel, do you think you could do that?" The elf nodded once more "I have also been told you have been drinking a bit?"
Winky's eyes went to the small heap of butterbeer bottles and her body shook with guilty nerves "Winky is sorry! She never drinks again!"
Lyra chuckled patting Winky's hand gently "One or two is fine here or there Winky but i only wish for you to be healthy, if you're struggling i hope you will come to me or my father for help" the elf nodded "Good now the last thing, if you do anything you think is not right we do not believe in punishment, no ironed knuckles, no bangs to the head and definitely no curses. So long as it does not threaten our lives we are more then happy to talk to you about it"
"Winky would never do something to threaten your lives!"
"I know Winky, now seeing as there is a bit before we leave Hogwarts again i am more then happy to bind you to my magic for now until you wish to bond with my father. If it turns out you two are not a good fit i don't want you to worry i will be happy to keep you bonded to myself"
The elf brightened as she cried but this one was different, it was more of an elated cry "Oh Miss Lyra! Thank you! Thank you!"
It didn't take a lot to link Winky to her magic, the elf's magic practically did all the work itself being so desperate, it was made easier seeing as her old masters death completely severed what would have been left of the elf's loyalty to the wizard "Dobby you know there will always be a place for you in my family don't you?" Lyra whispered.
"Of course Miss Lyra, Dobby enjoys being a free elf but if at any point that changes he knows where he'd go first" the male elf hugged his friend who was almost leaping with joy at having a mistress again.
"Good, now my first task for you Winky is to try to get yourself less dependant on butterbeers, you may continue to work with Dobby for the school if you wish but only at you freewill"
Winky nodded releasing Dobby to face her "Of course Mistress! Winky starts right away"
~~~
Lyra had found herself at the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets, "Open" she hissed and the snake vault door did it's little thing before clicking open. She walked right in moving passed the dead snake without another glance as she moved towards the office, the two horcruxes she'd left there were in the exact same place.
Lyra opened the draw, placing the cup and the diadem on the desk as she sat in the large chair, opening her bag she pulled out the locket and the ring placing them with the other two and she sat back in the chair and stared at the four items in front of her. it was still strange to her that she was in possession of four parts of Moldy's soul, with her right there she had more of his soul then he possessed currently.
She, along with the help of Harry had already destroyed his first piece, his strongest Horcrux, the largest part of his split soul. The next largest part of his soul sat in front of her in the form of the Slytherin locket, followed by the Gaunt ring, then the Hufflepuff cup and the Ravenclaw Diadem.
What people seemed to misunderstand was that in splitting ones soul it didn't take a small part it ripped the whole thing in half, that was why Riddle's diary was practically a full person with thoughts, feelings, even magic if he had finished his plan with Ginny. However that left Moldy with only half a soul which he continued to rip in half with the locket and the others, the reason why after the locket the Horcruxes don't put up much of a fight or even much dark magic is because they have a mere tiny sliver of his soul in them.
It was a shame really that he chose to defile such precious artefacts because to destroy a Horcrux Lyra had come to the conclusion that one had to completely destroy the object itself. Which would explain why Harry still had a tiny piece of Moldy's soul in him after the Basilisk almost killed him with it's venom. She looked over the Ring box and frowned, but that didn't explain why when Dumbledore destroyed the ring the Resurrection Stone was left behind and not only that but it continued to work...
Unless the only reason why it survived was because it was a deathly hallow object, Lyra smirked as it clicked...That's also why Harry was able to have the chance to come back. The sacrificial magic Lily put on him had vanished by the time he went into the forest and as much as she loved Harry there was nothing truly 'special' about him, in the meaning that there was no other reason why he should have been able to survive the killing curse again.
Apart from the fact that at the time Harry had or at least owned all three deathly hallows, he owed the cloak but she couldn't remember if he had it with him in the forest. He held the resurrection stone in his hand and he had ownership of the elder wand when he was hit with the killing curse with that very wand.
Lyra picked up the ring box, did that mean that anyone could kill Harry to get rid of the Horcrux so long as he had all the deathly hallows? Lyra would prefer to destroy all the horcruxes before the war, she didn't want a war at all and if she could somehow destroy all of them to prevent that then she had to at least try.
But that would mean killing Harry..."Argh" Lyra threw the box onto the desk and slumped back in the chair but in doing so the box opened and she gasped "What!"
It was empty.
The box was empty.
"Kreacher!" she yelled and her elf appeared immediately looking around as if expecting her to be in danger, he looked at the table seeing the locket his Mistress had asked him for along with the box which laid on the table opened.
"Mistress! What did you do!" he rushed to her side but she seemed fine, however Lyra had told him if she opened it she could be cursed?
"It was empty, there is meant to be a ring inside this" she pushed her fingers into her hair gripping at the locks tightly in panic "I can't! There was meant to be...It was meant to..." she felt like she couldn't breathe "It was..."
"Mistress?" Kreacher grabbed at Lyra's arms as she hyperventilated "Kreacher bes taking you to the dog"
In her panic she still managed to swipe the horcruxes into the draw slamming it shut as her vision started to darken, she felt the apparition take hold, the Black family wards reaching out to welcome her as they entered Grimmauld place.
"Kreacher?" Her fathers voice sounded like she was under water but she felt him grab her just as she lost consciousness.
~~~
When she woke she realised she laid in her own personal bed, looking up she saw her father sat beside her bed along with Moony who was stood near the end of the bed, they noticed that she was now awake "I understand that i can not do the things you can Lyra, i can't see the future, i can't see visions of the past, i am not all knowing but what i do know is you are my daughter" Sirius took her hand "You had a panic attack Lyra, this is too much now and i know i told not only myself but Lucius i would let you do what needs to be done but this is...I can't do it" he shook his head "You will let me help you or so help me Godric i will pull you from Hogwarts and you will never leave this house without my say so again"
"You can't--"
"I can" Sirius glared at nothing "I have lost practically everything, i refuse to lose you too, so are you going to tell us what pushed you to the point of a panic attack?"
Lyra stayed silent looking at her hands "Pup, you have to let us help you" when she looked up at Remus his eyes were lined a golden colour telling her Moony was towards the front of his control.
She sighed squeezing her eyes closed "Horcruxes...Voldemort has horcruxes"
"Good god" Sirius whispered looking sick "Is that what--?"
Lyra shook her head "I destroyed one already and i have collected a further four or at least i thought i had"
"FOUR! You...You mean to tell me you have been going around collecting parts of a psychotic mans soul!" Sirius yelled while she just shrugged, he stood and started to pace slightly running his hands through his hair roughly.
"It's actually three, someone found the fourth before i did. I think i know who it is but they shouldn't have it yet not that it matters, they will destroy it but when i found the box empty i panicked"
"Lyra--"
"Stop, you wanted to know, now you do. If i do not continue to search for them and destroy them we all die do you understand that! You die! Moony dies! Harry dies! Collin, Lavender, Fred! The lot! I have to do this and if you try to stop me i will simply obliviate this conversation from you"
"Excuse me?" Sirius snarled turning to face her full on.
"I won't apologise, i'd rather take this memory then mourn you" Lyra glared at him.
"Now you listen to me young lady--"
"It's Bellatrix, she kills you after tricking us into a trap, she later goes on to torture us down the line when we get caught by snatchers, she carves into Hermione with a cursed blade and god knows what she will do to me when she finds out i stole the cup from her"
"I beg your pardon" Remus shifted slightly from where he stood, his eyes becoming more golden then blue at this point.
"She had a horcrux in her vault, i went to the goblins and told them she stole it from house of Black, that she was trying to make away with it now she was married, i simply identified the cup and the timeline she would have taken it and that along with a sack of galleons seemed to be enough for them to hand it over"
Sirius sighed as he rubbed the bridge of his nose "And that night you came back bloody? Was that a horcrux too?"
"No, i swapped the grave stones of Voldemort's father to another's grave, soon they will be trying to bring him back and they have to use the bones of the father to do so...I thought if they used the wrong bones that the potion would become void and he would be stuck in the shape he's taken now seeing as it's vulnerable" She rubbed a hand over her face with a sigh "I'm going to start destroying the horcruxes but every one i destroy he will know about it, i'd rather him be vulnerable when i do so"
"How many does he have?"
"Seven i think, the diary, locket, ring, cup, diadem, snake and something else but i'm not sure of that one yet" she listed off on her fingers.
"Right so you have three of them?" Remus cocked his head.
"Yes plus a destroyed one, the diary"
Sirius nodded "That leaves three unaccounted for"
Lyra shook her head "Not necessarily, i think i know who has one but they are a member of the order and will destroy it hopefully soon, one is practically joined to Voldemort's hip but it was one of the last he made so it's a weak horcrux and the very last one i have yet to see"
"But it's not great Lyra, if he knows you're destroying them he will look for the others and will try to keep them safe" Remus frowned at the plan to destroy them.
"I know which is the only reason i haven't destroyed them yet, i should have a year ago then this wouldn't be a problem but i got distracted, comfortable even"
"So let's just wait, we wait until we know what the last one is, until we find out where the missing horcrux is, then all at once we strike" Sirius smoothed his hand down Lyra's head.
"Sounds so much easier then it will be"
"Everything does" he sighed "But if you ever threaten to remove my memory again, i'll ground you for the rest of your life do you understand?"
"Understood" she whispered without actually meaning it, if push came to shove she defiantly would do so "I should get back before people realise i'm missing"
"I want you to send updates and i do not want you touching those horcruxes without us there"
"Yes father" she nodded sagely, now she had a choice to make but that choice would have to come after the last trial. If her plan worked she'd be left with a choice if it didn't then it was just a waiting game.
And Lyra could be very patient if need be.
~~~
She had been walking the halls trying to work on her plans when she felt herself being shoved to the side by two Ravenclaws running "Watch it!" she hissed but they just continued laughing as they ran, Lyra turned around and saw a pair of slippers sat on the window ledge the toes of them sat in the rain getting soaked "The hell?"
"Oh those are mine" a gentle voice called out and she turned to see the one and only Luna Lovegood, Lyra sighed and grabbed the slippers spelling them dry as she did so before she handed them back to the blonde girl "Thank you"
The Lovegood girl was dressed in a sweet purple knitted dress and a blue cardigan that matched the tights she was wearing with stars on them "I like your dress"
Luna grinned "Thank you! Blue suits you too" Lyra looked down at her school uniform, there was not a lick of blue on herself.
"Well thank you" she smiled anyway "Do they do that a lot?" she looked back at where the two Ravens had ran off.
"It's all good fun, keeps my brain active"
Lyra hummed as she continued to study the girl in front of her, the girls hair was stunning falling below the girls behind in pretty waves, it looked like spun silk and her eyes looked to be the colour of moon beams "You shouldn't allow them to continue to take your things, it's not nice"
"I really don't mind" Luna smiled waving the slippers in her hand "I find them all eventually or rather they find me but you already knew that"
"I did" Lyra watched the girl, Luna was an actually seer or at the very least she knew things she shouldn't so right now it was just about testing the waters.
Luna hummed looking at the air around Lyra's head "You had a few wrackspurts but they have seemed to flee, you were lost?"
"For a while, things have a way of becoming unclear" she leant against the wall.
"Yes" Luna nodded "That is very true but you seemed quite good at getting rid of them by yourself, not many can...Better Wrackspurts then Nargles"
"Mhh yes, those horrid things" Lyra smirked but it was not from a place of bullying instead she just couldn't believe Luna was exactly as she expected her to be.
"I can make you a necklace, as thanks for finding my slippers? It would keep them away, i'm afraid there are quite a few Nargles here this year"
"Oh really?" Luna nodded "Well then who am i to refuse" Lyra watched Luna's smile grow, she was simply precious.
"I've been waiting to meet you, you are a year early you know? But i don't mind too much, i've been quite excited for our meeting, to meet someone like myself"
"Luna i..."
"I know what you are and i know what you are not but for what you are not, you definitely are...Oh it's quite late and you need to finish your plans, i find backup plans to be a good idea myself, it was nice meeting you Lyra i will see you soon"
Lyra stood in shock at what the girl had just said, none of it made sense while at the very same time making perfect sense but she couldn't say anything because Luna was already skipping off down the corridor holding her slippers to her chest as she went.
She had a sense that the Wrackspurts are back...
