Chapter 136
The Evil King was lounging in the canopy when he sensed the eagle-beast descending. He cracked open his narrow, predatory eyes to find the Ghost King hovering just a few feet away. Despite the visitor, he didn't bother moving, merely resting his head on his arm with a faint, jagged smile.
"Long time no see, Matthew," he drawled.
The Ghost King studied him. Years had passed, but the Evil King remained unchanged—seemingly effortless and carefree, yet always harboring a mind as deep as the abyss. "Indeed, it has been a long time."
"You aren't here for a social call," the Evil King remarked, his tone casual. "Why are you here?"
"I'm here to ask what you're hunting on this island," the Ghost King replied. "Perhaps I can be of assistance."
The Evil King finally sat up, sizing the other man up from head to toe. "You look like you've been living well."
