Chapter 91
After the confrontation in the woods, Euphoria sought out Yu to warn him about the rogue snake-beast. She feared that while she and Hayes could defend themselves, the gentler members of the tribe might be defenseless if the predator turned its hunger toward the village.
Oddly, the serpent had mentioned not seeing a single Pointed-Ear beastman in two centuries, which suggested he had been living in a distant, isolated corner of the forest. The immediate threat seemed to simmer down, and strangely, the brush with danger made Euphoria feel even more settled in her new life.
The rains came frequently after that, turning the Void Forest into a lush, emerald paradise. The air often grew heavy and stifling before a storm, driving Euphoria out of the castle for long, contemplative walks through the village.
