Hayes didn't seem the least bit bothered by her accusation. He simply tilted his head, looking at her with a facade of innocent confusion. "Hmm? What are you talking about?"
Euphoria opened her mouth to snap back, but the words died in her throat. How could she put it into words? That he had been systematically provoking her and playing with her emotions just to get a reaction?
Seeing her stunned silence, Hayes's smile only grew wider, reaching his eyes. "Why so quiet all of a sudden?"
Furious at his blatant acting and unable to find a biting retort, Euphoria did the only thing she could think of: she lunged forward and bit his ear.
"Ngh..." A low groan escaped Hayes at the sudden assault, but he didn't pull away. He stayed perfectly still, letting her sink her teeth in.
