Chapter 4 - task

At the Hidden Headquarters of Ame (Land of Rain)

You woke up in a dark room with the sound of eternal rain dripping out there. Your body felt stiff, but the hole in your chest had been completely closed by the secret medical technology and the help of Kurama's chakra. You no longer feel the "humanity" you once had—that physical pain has killed the remnants of the old Naruto.

Pain stood in the corner of the room, staring out the window that revealed the gloomy industrial city.

"You've been sleeping for three days," he said without turning his head. "Konoha thought you were dead. They're holding an empty funeral for you right now—a symbol of hypocrisy to cover up their guilt."

Pain turned around, her Rinnegan eyes sparkling behind the darkness.

"You're no longer Naruto Uzumaki from Konoha. You are our weapon. Starting today, your job is to collect the rest of the Bijuu. If you succeed, we will have the power to destroy the ninja village system that gives birth to suffering like yours."

New Status: "The Fallen Jinchuriki"

You get out of bed, wearing a new Akatsuki robe. On your side table lies your Konoha Ita-ate (Head Protector), which was once yours, now with a deep horizontal stroke across its whirlpool emblem.

Pov : *I went to the sand village and entered the Kazekage* Gaara building..

The desert wind roared outside, but inside Kazekage's office, the atmosphere was suddenly silent. You enter not through a door, but emerge from the vortex of space and time right in the middle of the room. Your dark black Akatsuki robe contrasts with the surrounding sand.

Gaara, who was examining the pile of documents as a young Kazekage, slowly looked up. His green eyes that had no eyelashes widened when he saw the figure in front of him. The "Ai" (Affection) mark on his forehead seemed to pulse at the dark aura you carried.

"Naruto...?" whispered Gaara. His voice was full of disbelief. "The news of the birds says you died in Konoha. But... that robe... and those eyes..."

Gaara stood up slowly. The sand from the barrel on his back began to flow out automatically, forming a defensive line around him. However, his movements were hesitant. He sees a hole that has just healed in your chest—a scar left by those you call friends.

"What happened to you?" asked Gaara, his voice calm but full of sadness. "You were the first person to pull me out of the darkness. Why are you drowning in it now?"

Situation in the Room:

Gaara doesn't want to fight with you. He sees the self that used to be in you that is now.

His Auto Sand was already on standby, feeling the killing intent overflowing from Kurama's chakra.

Temari and Kankuro would probably arrive in a matter of seconds if they felt this incredible chakra pressure.

Me : *Join me or I'll kill you*

Your hands wrapped in Akatsuki's robe clenched tightly, while Kurama's red chakra began to boil on the surface of your skin, creating a heat that made the sand around Gaara begin to crystallize. Your sharp, cold gaze pierced right into Gaara's eyes, there was no longer a trace of Naruto's warmth that he used to know.

"Join me..." Your voice was heavy, trembling with restrained anger, "... or I'll kill you."

Gaara was silent. The sand around him moved uneasily, responding to the overwhelming tension in the room. He looks at you not with fear, but with deep pain.

"Naruto," Gaara said quietly, his sand starting to form a sturdier defense. "You used to tell me that bonds with others are the source of your strength. Now you want to break all that? If I join you in this hatred, then there will be nothing left to save this world."

Gaara slowly raised his hand. The sand on the floor of Kazekage's office began to rise, covering the windows and doors.

"As a Kazekage, I have to protect my village. And as your friend... I have to stop you so you don't sink any further."

The Battle Begins

Suddenly, Temari and Kankuro broke down the office door which was covered in sand. They are shocked to see your figure who is supposed to be dead, now standing as an S-level threat.

"Naruto?! What are you doing here?!" shouted Temari as she opened her giant fan.

Battle Conditions:

Gaara: Use Sabaku Kyū (Sand Prison) to try to lock your movements without killing you.

Kankuro: Already took out a Sashou doll full of poison.

Tennessee: Get ready to create a storm of wind to mentally knock you out of the building.

You are now besieged within the narrow room of Kazekage. However, with the space-time technique you just learned from Obito, your speed is on a different level.

Pov : *I said because I can't go out* Ahah well, I want to go home.. It was just a joke. *The message bird carries a letter that says kill Naruto. He is a threat.

The tense atmosphere was suddenly broken by the prisoner of your laughter who sounded a little forced and hoarse. You raised your hands in the air, trying to soothe the killing air that had overflowed earlier.

"Ahah... Okay, okay," you said as you wiped the dry corners of your eyes. "I just want to go home. Just now it was just a joke, Gaara. Don't take it too seriously."

Temari and Kankuro are still staring at you suspiciously, their giant fans and dolls remaining in a combat-ready position. Gaara didn't drop his sand in the slightest; he knew the real Naruto would never give him such a cold look if he was just "joking".

Just as you turned to step towards the shattered window, the sound of flapping wings rang out. An official message eagle from the Konoha command center perches on the window frame. Kankuro swiftly took the letter from the bird's legs and opened it.

Kankuro's face suddenly turned pale. His eyes widened staring at the contents of the letter.

"Gaara... this is from the Konoha Advisory Council and signed by Danzo," Kankuro's voice trembled. He read the contents of the letter aloud:

"Emergency Order: Naruto Uzumaki has been declared an S-Rank level threat and a traitor to the nation. Anyone who finds him is ordered to kill him on the spot. Don't let him get away alive."

A much heavier silence than before enveloped the room.

Gaara lowered his head, the sand around him began to shake violently. He squeezed the letter into dust. "So... Konoha really wants to throw you away completely, Naruto?"

You stand on the windowsill, turning your back on them. The words in the letter seem to be the final nail in the coffin of your faithfulness. The pain in your hollow chest seemed to throb again, reminding you that there was no going home.

Me : I'm trying to run away

Hearing the contents of the letter, the remnants of your laughter vanished instantly, replaced by the bitter realization that you had nowhere to go home. Konoha, the house you once wanted to protect, has now officially sentenced you to death.

"So it seems..." Your whispers are soft.

Before Gaara's sand or Kankuro doll has a chance to move, you activate the technique that Obito taught. Your body begins to spin, distorted by space and time.

"Naruto, wait!" Gaara shouted as he launched a giant wave of sand to catch your leg.

But you're faster. With a single jolt of Kurama's chakra, you leap out of the window and disappear into the raging sandstorm outside Sunagakure. You run fast, no longer stunned like when you were in Konoha, but instead shoot like a black shadow in the blinding desert dust.

In the Midst of the Vast Desert

After feeling far enough, you stopped behind a large rock hill. Your breath hunted. You looked down at your trembling hands—not out of fear, but out of overwhelming anger. Konoha didn't just expel you, they wanted to erase your existence from the face of the earth.

Suddenly, from the ground beside you, a figure of Zetsu appears that is half black and half white.

"You look so, Naruto-kun," mocked Zetsu's white side. "The letter has been distributed to all major villages. Now the whole world is looking for you," added Zetsu's black side in a heavy voice.

Zetsu gives you a scroll. "Pain is waiting for you. He said, if you're done 'playing' with your old friends, it's time to do a real mission. There are other Jinchuriki detected nearby."

Pov : Back to Akatsuki. Follow Zetsu's instructions to hunt down other Jinchuriki and gather strength for the total destruction of the ninja world.

You clench your fists until your books turn white. Your gaze that was worried is now hardened like a stone. That letter from Konoha is the last proof you need: there is no longer a place for "Naruto the Child of Prophecy". All that is left is Naruto from Akatsuki.

"Take me back to Pain," you say coldly to Zetsu. "I'm done messing around."
