Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Loguetown and the First Bounty List

After three days of staying in Caravana Village and understanding how Beli worked, Yuta reached a decision.

He stood alone in his small rented room, looking out the window at the quiet street outside.

"…Loguetown."

He said it slowly.

The name carried weight.

Not because of what people in this village said—

But because of what he remembered.

"…That's where the Pirate King was executed."

Gold D Roger.

The man who started everything.

Yuta exhaled lightly.

"…And there should be a Marine base there."

That part mattered more to him right now.

A Marine station meant information.

Bounty posters.

Pirate movements.

And most importantly—

Targets.

He clenched his hand slightly.

"…If I can get information on pirates…"

His eyes narrowed.

"…Then I can hunt them."

Bounty money.

Experience.

Strength.

Everything would come from that.

And then—

Another thought followed.

"…Shimotsuki Village."

His expression stayed calm, but his focus sharpened.

"…There's a dojo there."

Swordsmanship training.

And more importantly—

Kuina.

"…If I go there…"

He paused briefly.

"…I can change what happens."

Protect her fate.

And at the same time—

Train himself.

It was a clear path.

Simple.

Efficient.

So he made his decision.

"…First Loguetown."

The next day, Yuta went out and prepared everything.

He purchased a Log Pose.

A few additional supplies for long-distance flight travel.

Food.

Basic necessities.

Nothing excessive.

Just what he needed.

By the time everything was ready—

He stood at the edge of the village once again.

"…Alright."

He looked at the sea.

Then stepped forward.

And rose into the air.

Flying across the ocean again felt familiar now.

No hesitation.

No confusion.

Only movement.

Yuta traveled steadily through the sky, using his space manipulation to maintain a stable path above the sea.

But unlike before—

He was more careful.

He stopped occasionally to rest.

Eating dried food.

Rehydrating.

Recovering his stamina.

"…No need to rush."

He muttered once.

"…I'll just take my time."

Days passed like that.

Flight.

Rest.

Food.

Repeat.

The endless ocean stretched beneath him, but now it didn't feel empty in the same way.

It felt like distance.

Something to cross.

Not something impossible.

On the fourth day—

Land appeared.

"…Loguetown."

Yuta slowed his descent and carefully landed inside a forest nearby.

He didn't want attention.

Not yet.

Not until he understood the situation properly.

"…Stay low first."

He muttered.

Then he began walking toward the town.

Loguetown was larger than the previous village.

More people.

More movement.

More noise.

Yuta kept his expression neutral as he walked through the streets, eventually reaching the Marine base.

A large building.

Controlled.

Structured.

He entered calmly.

Inside—

Walls filled with bounty posters.

Faces of pirates.

Crimes listed beneath them.

Rewards printed clearly.

Yuta stood there quietly, scanning everything.

"…So many…"

He muttered under his breath.

Then he made a decision.

He stepped forward and began selecting.

"…All pirates with bounty under five million Beli."

The Marines looked at him briefly.

Suspicious.

But not stopping him.

To them—

It was just paper.

After a moment of hesitation, they handed them over.

Stacks of bounty posters.

Yuta took them without emotion.

"…Good."

He said.

Then turned and left.

Outside, he sorted through them carefully.

Names.

Faces.

Locations.

Strength estimates.

He wasn't interested in strong pirates yet.

Not at this stage.

He needed information.

Experience.

Steady progress.

"…This is enough for now."

He muttered.

Then moved to the next step.

He entered a nearby tavern.

A simple place.

Loud.

Crowded.

Perfect for information.

Yuta sat down and called the bartender.

"…I need information on pirates across the East Blue."

The bartender raised an eyebrow.

"…That's a lot of information."

Yuta placed money on the table.

Two million Beli.

"…This should be enough."

The bartender paused.

Then nodded slowly.

"…Alright. You'll get what you need."

And so—

Yuta listened.

Names.

Locations.

Rough behaviors.

Movement patterns.

Weak points.

Everything.

He didn't interrupt.

He just absorbed it all.

By the time night arrived—

He had spent most of his money.

"…Two million gone."

He muttered quietly.

But he didn't regret it.

Information had value.

Sometimes more than money.

He stood up from the table and left the tavern.

That night, he found a simple inn.

Nothing special.

Just a place to rest.

As he sat alone in his room, he placed the bounty posters on the table and looked at them one by one.

"…This is my starting point."

He said quietly.

Not a dream.

Not imagination.

A plan.

Clear.

Direct.

From Loguetown—

His path into the East Blue had officially begun.
