"Good. You're both awake."
I looked up from the corner of the room. The man from the night before walked in carrying a mug. The guards outside stepped aside the second they saw him.
Well, then he was the one in charge.
He dragged a chair over, sat across from us, and placed the mug on the concrete floor between us.
For a few seconds, nobody spoke.
Then he said, "My name is Warwick. I'm the current leader of the Moonless Order. My father led before me."
He was straight to business. No dramatic reveal, no making us guess who he was,and no weird speech about destiny or whatever.
And you two are…" he looked at me. "I know who you are… Miss Winters."
"Jacob…" Reid lied casually.
"Good to know," I said, my brow arched.
Warwick nodded once.
Beside me, Reid leaned back against the wall.
"The guards moving out of your way already gave us a hint," he said,
Warwick glanced at him.
