We arrived at our suite, the vast, bright halls welcoming us like the portals to another world. A world free of liars, conceited and power-hungry fools. I held Waverly by the waist, carefully guiding her towards the edge of the bed.
She sat, a long exhale escaping her lips.
Seeing her like this made my chest ache. A terribly profound ache that made me want to tear the whole world down for her sake. I sat next to her and pressed a light kiss to her forehead. She smiled at that.
"She's so adorable, Kaeren. I think I'm losing my mind."
Right… I chuckled softly and asked, "Speak to me, milady, what's on your mind?"
Waverly's cheeks flushed red at how I'd addressed her. Watching her eyelids flutter sent a tingle through my body, one I tried to play off, but to no avail. I kissed her again.
