Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The Empress of Wangfujing

The sun rose over Wangfujing Street, the crown jewel of the Capital's commerce. While the rest of the city was waking up to the sound of bicycle bells and steaming bun carts, Li Hua was standing in front of a two-story storefront that had once been a crumbling teahouse. Now, it was a minimalist masterpiece of glass and black steel, with a sign that simply read: [PHOENIX RISING].

[Ding! Mission: The Capital Debut.]

[Goal 1: Open the flagship store with 50,000 Yuan in sales. Goal 2: Dazzle the 'Blue Bloods' at the Charity Ball. Reward: -5kg Weight Loss (Ideal Weight: 60kg!), 'Perfume Alchemy' Skill, National Fame.]

At 65kg, Li Hua was no longer the girl people whispered about. She was the woman people stopped to watch. Her waist was narrow, her legs long and toned from her System-mandated exercises, and her skin possessed a porcelain glow that made her look like she was carved from moonlight.

"Boss Li, the crowds are already lining up," Old Chen said, adjusted his new, professional suit. He had followed her to the Capital, his loyalty as solid as the iron of her sewing machine. "They heard that the woman who dressed Madam Qin has arrived."

Li Hua looked at the line of fashionable women stretching down the block. "Open the doors, Chen. Let's show them that the 90s don't have to be beige."

As the doors opened, the women of the Capital were met with a sight they had never seen: a retail space that felt like an art gallery. There were no piles of cheap polyester. Instead, her 'Li-Steel' bamboo-blend garments hung like sculptures under recessed lighting.

[System Skill: 'Vogue Vision' Level 3 Active.]

[Sales strategy: Focus on 'Exclusivity'.]

By noon, the store was a battlefield of elite socialites fighting over the last emerald wrap-dress. By 4:00 PM, the cash register was overflowing.

"Total sales: 62,000 Yuan," Old Chen whispered, his voice trembling with shock. "Boss... we've made a lifetime's salary in eight hours!"

"That was just the warm-up, Chen," Li Hua said, her eyes fixed on the evening's invitation. "The real work begins at the Great Hall."

------------------------------

The Great Hall was a sea of shimmering lights, expensive champagne, and the sharp, judging eyes of the Capital's "Blue Bloods." This was the annual Autumn Charity Ball, where the true power of the nation gathered.

Ye Meiling, having repaired her dress and her ego, was standing near the entrance with a group of slender socialites. "I heard that country girl opened a shop today," Meiling snickered, sipping her wine. "Probably selling potato sacks to peasants. Feng-er is blinded by her 'novelty,' but tonight, she'll see she doesn't belong."

The grand doors swung open. The herald didn't even have to announce her; the room simply went silent as if someone had sucked the air out of the hall.

Li Hua walked in on the arm of Ye Feng.

She was a vision in a 'Midnight-Gold' gown of her own design. The fabric was a new variant of her bamboo blend woven with actual gold threads that caught the light with every step. The dress featured a daring high slit and a backless cut that showed off her flawless, porcelain skin.

At 60kg (the System had preemptively triggered the weight loss as she stepped into the hall), she was the definition of "lethal beauty." Her hair was styled in a sophisticated Hollywood wave, and her eyes, sharpened by the 'Master of Makeup' skill, were two cold, brilliant diamonds.

"Is that... Li Hua?" a Director from the Ministry of Culture whispered. "She looks like she walked out of a dream."

Ye Meiling's glass shattered on the floor. Her face went from pale to ghostly white. Beside her, Young Master Song, who had come to the ball to regain his status, looked like he had been struck by lightning.

"She... she's not a girl," Song whispered, his hands shaking. "She's a queen."

Li Hua didn't head for the buffet or the shadows. She walked straight to the center of the dance floor, where Old Madam Ye was sitting.

"Madam," Li Hua said, her 'Elite Etiquette' making her movements as fluid as water. She performed a perfect, graceful bow. "I promised you that the future would be strong. I hope my presence tonight is proof enough."

Old Madam Ye looked at the girl the girl she had called a "bumpkin" only days ago and felt a rare surge of pride. She stood up, taking Li Hua's hand.

"Tonight," the Old Madam announced to the entire hall, "the Ye family welcomes its most valued partner. And I believe I speak for everyone when I say... the Capital has finally found its style."

[Ding! Mission Success! Total Visual Shock: 100%.]

[Rewards Issued: -5kg Weight Loss (Weight: 60kg - Goal Reached!), 'Perfume Alchemy' Skill.]

[Reputation: National Heroine.]

As the music started, Ye Feng stepped forward. He didn't ask; he simply took her waist and pulled her into a waltz.

"You've done it," he murmured, his eyes burning with a passion he could no longer hide. "You've conquered the Capital in a single night. What's left for a woman like you?"

Li Hua leaned in, the scent of her new 'Perfume Alchemy' a mix of sandalwood, jasmine, and cold steel enveloping him. "The world, Mr. Ye. I haven't even started on the international markets yet."

Across the room, Gu Yan and Lin Meimei, who had snuck in as "plus-ones" for a minor official, watched from the shadows. They were penniless, forgotten, and looking at the woman who had once loved them—a woman who was now a goddess they could never touch.

Li Hua didn't even look their way. In her heart, they were already ghosts.
