Ariana's POV:
I was stunned. But I was excited as well. I always wanted to have brothers. Whenever I saw someone with a brother, I craved it. Now I can enjoy that also. But will they be like that? Because I haven't been with them. They don't have any experience with sisters.
Well, we will see. I am sure they will learn it. I will also have to learn it. I don't have any experience in sibling matters. I was lost in my thoughts when Gabriel, I mean fa...father's voice pulled me out. It will be difficult to call him that.
It will be more difficult than I thought. I will have to adjust to it.
"This is Antonio, your eldest brother. That is Leonardo second eldest, then Rafael is the third. Then Alfonso, Benjamin and then last but not least is Matteo, your twin." Everyone smiled at me.
"So, I have six brothers? And I have a twin?" I asked excitedly. My eyes sparkling because I always admired those twin things and we didn't have any twins in our family.
"Yes baby sister. You have six brothers and a twin." Antonio said.
"Gemella, I am so happy to finally meet you. Can I hug you please?" He asked excitedly.
(Twin sister)
"Ofcourse, gemello you can. You don't have to ask." I replied smiling.
(Twin brother)
They were stunned and their expressions were so astonished. "conosci l'italiano?" Asked Matteo.
(You know Italian?)
"Sì, fratello. adesso mi abbracci?" Matteo came running happily and hugged me tightly. He was holding me so tightly like I was a precious treasure. I was so happy to hug him. I now have a twin and brothers.
(Yes brother. Will you give me a hug now?)
"Can we get a hug also?" Antonio asked. I opened my arms for them and gestured to come. They all surrounded me and gave me a hug. It was a very wonderful feeling.
After that we went to sit in the living room. Mom and dad were also there. We started talking.
"Princess, do you want to ask us something? You can ask us anything you want." Father said.
"I... Please tell me how I went missing?"
"Baby girl when you were born we were very happy. You are the only girl in our family. We always wanted a sister. We loved you so much, we still do."
"You were born in New York in a hospital. You were born weak. So we had to keep you in the hospital till you get better."
"One night, when we were in the hospital, there was a power cut. When the lights came back, you were gone. We didn't know who took you. We checked everywhere. We asked whoever we could.
"We went to the police station to file the complaint. Sigh! We did everything we could but we couldn't find you. Later we found out the kidnappers who kidnapped you. They were our business rivals."
"They didn't want us to have happiness. They wanted to make us fall in our business. Because they knew you were our weakness."
"When the police interrogated them they told us that they abandoned you in Texas. They didn't tell us anything else as they wanted us to suffer."
"So we hired a PI to investigate it. Then we found you two days ago. *Smiling* you don't know how ecstatic we were to know that you have been found."
"In all of this, we missed eighteen years of your life." Father told me everything about how I went missing. He looked so sad that we have missed these many years of being together.
"Ok now that I know everything I don't blame you guys. When mom and dad first told me that I was adopted and they found me on the street, I was very angry with you. I thought, who can abandon their one month old daughter on a street on a winter night."
"I thought that you guys didn't want me. But now that I know everything, I don't blame you. In all of this you guys have been suffering the most. I didn't even know that I am adopted and there is someone missing me."
"But you guys knew and were suffering so much. While I was here, I was enjoying my life. As I have met my parents. They loved me so much. They cared about me. They treated me as their family."
"I feel bad that you all suffered so much and I didn't even know about that." Tears were streaming down my face as I thought about their pain.
"Baby sister, please don't cry. We are happy that at least you were happy here. You didn't suffer. We always thought about how you were, were you living well or not. Now that we know that you got what you deserve, we are happy."
"Now that we have found you, we will try everything to make up for what we have lost. We will give you every bit of our love and care." Antonio said.
"Now do you want to ask something else princess?" Asked Leonardo.
"Yes. Where is umm... m...mom? I mean, is she in New York?"
Everyone was frozen. They became sad immediately. I thought that I had asked something that I should have. What if she doesn't want me? As I was thinking, my father replied, "she is not there. She.. she left us." I was stunned.
What did he mean by this? "Where did she go?"
"She is no longer with us. She is d...dead. She couldn't cope when you went missing. She was weak after giving birth and then this. She couldn't recover. She had heart failure. I am sorry Ari." Father said looking very sad.
I can't imagine what they went through. First they lost their daughter/sister, then they lost their wife/mother. I can't imagine their pain and suffering. I got up and gave a tight hug to my father.
"Father it's ok. You now have me. You have found me. I am sure wherever mom is, she is watching over us and she is happy that we have found each other." I comforted them.
After that we sat there talking. Mom said that we should have lunch. Then we all went to the dining room and ate our lunch. We were having a good time together. Today went better than I could have imagined.
I still can't believe that I have brothers. That I always craved. When we ate our lunch, I saw that father and brothers were giving each other looks. Like they wanted to talk about something.
"Guys what happened? Is there something wrong?"
They looked at me and then Leonardo said, "Actually we want to ask you about something."
"Ok. What is it?" I asked curiously.
"Umm... Ariana, we want you to come with us back to New York."
I was stunned. I mean I didn't even think about that. I always regard this as my home. I have always lived here. But New York is their home. That is where I was also born. But I don't want to leave my parents.
"But I live here. This is my home now. I have my parents and friends here."
They looked as they if had already imagined that as my answer. Mom and dad looked at each other and dad said, "Ariana baby, we know that you don't want to leave us but they are your family also. They have been looking for you for so long. I think you should go with them. We will keep in touch. We will come to meet you. Ok?"
"No dad, mom, I don't want to leave you alone. What will I do without you? I won't go without you guys. Why don't you also come there?"
"Ariana, we can't just move right? We have our jobs here. Try to understand, baby. We will come to meet you whenever we have time."
"Actually, if it's about a job then we can get you the job there. You are professors right?" Antonio asked.
"Yes. We are professors. But how can we let you do this? It's not appropriate." Mom said, shaking her head.
"It doesn't matter. Ariana wants you there. We want Ariana there and we would also love it if you come with us. You have taken care of her. You love her as your daughter. And I am sure you will miss her very much. So it will be good for all of us."
"We will get to know you and Ariana also will not feel like she abandoned you. Besides, I am sure that you guys are excellent at teaching. We know that you will quickly adapt there at the university. So please consider our offer to come with us. There is not any hurry, you can tell us tomorrow. Ok?" Antonio talked to them.
I went to him and gave him a hug and a kiss on his cheek and said, "thank you, thank you so much, fratello. You are the best. Mom, dad now please consider it ok? I don't want to abandon any of you. I want you all to be with me. I have found my family after so much time but I don't want to leave either."
(Fratello means brother in Italian)
Antonio was surprised and he was so happy that I hugged him and kissed him. He smugly looked at his father and brothers because I said he is the best. Others were looking at him with daggers in their eyes.
"What happened? Why are you looking at fratello like that?" I asked them, puzzled.
They said nothing happened and again glared at him. I looked at them confused. They just shook their heads. I shrugged. Mom and dad said that they will think about it and tell them tomorrow.
"Ariana, are you free today? We want to take you out with us to spend some time. We will go shopping, movies and then we will have some lunch. So what do you think?" Matteo asked excitedly.
"Ariana, you should go with them. You will get to know them and bond with them. Ok go Ari." Dad said.
"Ok dad. Matteo so let's go. I am going to tire you all out with the shopping. Let's go and enjoy."
Matteo was beginning to regret it. I can see from his face. He probably wonders why he said the shopping part.
"Ok let's go." Antonio said.
We all went outside the house and sat in the car. We then went to the movies first. We went to get the tickets for the movie. Then I went to get the snacks because that's a must if you are watching a movie. Isn't it?
I bought popcorn, colas and chips. Alfonso insisted on paying so he paid for it. By then Benjamin had bought the tickets. He bought 7 tickets as dad had some business to attend. He said he will meet us for dinner.
I think that's just an excuse because he didn't want to go shopping with us. He got saved. Good one dad, I thought.
Then we went to watch the movie. It was avengers as all of us agreed to it. We watched it and I must say it was an excellent movie.
Then we went shopping. *Evil laugh* now they will know how it feels to go shopping with me.
"Fratello Rafael, so what do you do?" I asked him as we were on the road to the shopping mall. It was further from the movie theatres.
"I am a doctor princess. I work at St. John's Hospital. I am a pediatrician."
"Wow brother. You are awesome. How old are you actually?"
"I am 24." "What? You are so young and you are already a doctor. Wow. Awesome. I also want to become successful in my life. You will be my inspiration now." I said admiring him.
They all glared at him for some unknown reason. First it was Antonio and now Rafael. What is it with these guys?
"What happened?" "Nothing sister."
"Ok. So fratello Alfonso, what about you?"
"I am a fitness trainer. I have my own gym. Baby sister, when we reach NYC I will train you too. Ok? Not that you need it. I can see that you do some training." Matteo groaned.
"What happened Matteo?" "Nothing sister. It's just that he is a fitness freak. When he trains he becomes a monster." I looked at Alfonso to see that he was glaring at Matteo.
"I think it is good to be fit and be able to defend ourselves. That's why I took self defence classes. Fratello, don't worry, I will train with you. Ok Anyways, if Matteo doesn't work out he will become fat and then we will call him fatty Matteo. Ok?" I asked, blinking my eyes innocently.
"Hahaha.. ok sister. Let's do what you said." They started laughing and Matteo was glaring at him and looking in disbelief that I will say that.
"Ariana, I didn't expect that my twin would say that. I am so hurt." He said dramatically, grasping his chest like he is hurting so much.
And just like that we reached the shopping mall joking and getting to know each other. Now let's torture them. *Smirking*
