Chapter 25 - THE SHATTERED TRUST

I was staring at Kadir, completely stunned.

In a shaky voice, I said, "Ramesh…"

I turned back instinctively, but there was no one there.

Then Umer suddenly burst into laughter, his eyes fixed on me.

"That wasn't Ramesh," he said coldly. "That was Ramdaan—my brother. He was here as a spy. This… was all our plan."

My entire body froze.

Shock hit me like a wave as everything started to fall into place. I realized too late that I had walked straight into a trap.

I tried to run.

But Umer caught me before I could take another step.

"Where do you think you're going?" he said, his voice calm but dangerously close. "You've already come to me…"

Tears slipped down my face as I begged, "Please… let me go."

But he didn't.

Instead, in one swift motion, Umer pushed me toward Kadir.

Kadir grabbed my hair, pulling me up as I gasped in pain. His voice dropped low as he said,

"So… Hello My whore !."

I fell at his feet, my hands trembling as I pressed them together.

"Please… let me go," I begged.

He looked down at me with an unsettling calm, as if my fear meant nothing.

"Go?" he repeated softly. "Where would you even go? You're exactly where you were always meant to be… under the Rajput Brothel"

I stared at him, confusion and dread tightening in my chest.

"You don't know?" he said, tilting his head slightly.

Well do you remember Sharma sir ??? Your biology teacher and yeahh your sister is his slut!!!

He's our regular customer! And then he told me about you as you threatened your sister to expose her ! Told her parents about Her relationship!

So your sister Jhalak...she planned all this !

She told me about your address and...

"The moment I saw you… when you stepped out of that café, wearing that jacket and heading home… you were partially wet ! I still remembered that face !I knew."

His gaze darkened as he continued.

"I liked you from that very first moment."

My breath hitched.

"I did my research on you," he said coldly. "Everything. I found out you were alone. No family strong enough to stand for you… no one to even ask where you disappeared."

My throat went dry.

"Then I spoke to your aunt," he added flatly. "She agreed. Easily. She was willing to hand you over."

My eyes widened in shock. They all planned ! My family is my biggest enemy i knew but they stood up to this level ! And I blamed kabir !

"But before I could bring you here," he continued, "Kabir interfered.

Kabir offered more money than me to your aunty and she agreed to sold you to him !

He took you away from me overnight… faster than I expected."

A sharp, bitter smile crossed his face.

"I confronted him. I warned him. I told him I would get you back no matter what… because I wanted you from the beginning."

He stepped closer, his voice lowering.

"So I planned again. Carefully. Quietly. And now—here you are."

And you know what , beside Ramdan there's someone else who helped me in this and Even kabir is not even aware of thiss !!!

I was shocked! Who it could be ??? Navya??

No no never ! She loves Kabir ! I thought inside my head !

Then He tried to touch me ,But I stepped back in fear !

His eyes locked onto mine.

"Don't be afraid. You don't need to run anymore. You belong here now… with me."

You don't worry. ! You take care of my needs and I'll take care of you !!!

"FROM NOW, YOU'LL BE ONLY MY SLUT !!!"

My entire body went cold.

Kabir… had saved me from him.

And I had misunderstood him all along.

And then he leaned closer and put his hand on my body in a filthy way and asked -

"I WONDER WHY KABIR BOUGHT YOU ??? DID HE FUCK YOU ???

I screamed - ! Kabir only wanted to protect me from you rascal...!

I jerked his hand from my body and pushed him and started running to save my life, more than that to save my dignity !

He ran behind me and grabbed my dupaatta from the bodyy...!

But still I ran as fast as I could, my breath uneven and my heart pounding violently against my chest.

Suddenly, my foot struck a stone, and I lost my balance. I fell hard onto the ground, pain shooting through me.

Before I could even recover, Kadir started walking toward me—slowly, confidently.

"Now where will you go?" he said, his voice dark with certainty.

Fear gripped me as I kept backing away, my hands trembling against the ground, trying to push myself farther from him.

He moved closer… and closer.

Just as he reached out, about to grab me—

Someone stepped in between us.

Kabir.

In a swift motion, Kabir shoved him back with force and then landed a hard punch across his face.

He also gave a tight punch to umer !

Everything happened so fast that I froze, my eyes wide in shock.

Kabir stood in front of me like a shield.

Then my gaze shifted—and I saw Ramdaan standing nearby.

He was injured, blood visible at the corner of his lip, his expression twisted with pain and anger.

Before I could process anything, Kabir stepped forward, placing himself firmly between me and them.

Umer let out a low, mocking chuckle, wiping the blood from his mouth.

"So… you finally showed up."

Kabir didn't respond immediately. His jaw tightened, his eyes cold and unyielding.

"You should've stayed out of this," Kadir continued, his tone laced with challenge.

Kabir's voice, when he finally spoke, was calm—but deadly.

"I warned you."

The air turned heavy.

Kadir lunged first, rage driving his movement—but Kabir reacted instantly. He blocked the attack, gripping his arm and twisting it hard before shoving him aside.

Umer charged next.

Their clash was brutal—fists colliding, footsteps echoing sharply against the ground.

Kabir fought with controlled aggression, each move precise, while Umer struck with raw force.

Kadir, despite his injury, tried to rejoin the fight, but Kabir didn't give him a chance—he pushed him back again, keeping both of them at bay.

I could only watch, frozen, my heart racing as everything unfolded before me.

Kabir stood his ground against both of them… like a wall that refused to break.

Moments later, the sound of sirens filled the air.

The police arrived and quickly took control, grabbing Kadir and Umer before they could react. They were forced down, restrained without resistance.

The officers moved to take Ramdaan as well—

But before they could reach him, a sudden gunshot echoed through the air.

Everything froze.

Ramdaan staggered for a second… then collapsed to the ground, lifeless.

The one who was involved in this had shot gun on Ramadan so that he couldn't spill out his /her name

Chaos followed.

The police immediately spread out, searching every direction, trying to locate the shooter—but there was nothing. No trace. No sign of who had fired the shot.

It was as if the bullet had come from nowhere.

I stood there, unable to move, my eyes slowly shifting toward Kabir.

A heavy wave of guilt crashed over me.

He had been protecting me all along… and I had doubted him.

Kabir looked at me.

For a moment, everything else faded.

I took a step forward, my heart aching, and moved toward him, wanting to hold him—wanting to say something, anything—

But before I could reach him, Kabir raised his hand, stopping me.

I froze.

His eyes… were burning with anger. Far more intense than I had ever seen before.

He looked at me like he could destroy me with just a glance.

It reminded me of that day—when I had spoken ill about his family…

but this time, his anger was even darker… deeper.

Fear crept into my chest.

Because this time… it was my fault.

I swallowed hard, gathering what little courage I had.

No matter how angry he was…

I had to tell him the truth about the Ramdan and the person who is involved in this !

And I had to ask for forgiveness too !

I was about to go towards him but ,

A few workers arrived shortly after, approaching me cautiously.

"Madam, we should take you back," one of them said.

I looked past them, searching for him.

"Kabir…?" I asked, my voice unsteady.

They exchanged brief glances before one of them spoke, his tone careful.

"Not right now, madam. He's… very angry."

He hesitated for a moment, then lowered his voice.

"You should come back to the brothel first. It's not safe to speak to him like this."

I swallowed, my fingers curling into my palms.

Even now… they were asking me to stay away from him.

But this time, I wasn't running from the truth anymore.

I reached the estate and immediately started looking for Amma, but she was nowhere to be seen.

Before I could step further inside, the door suddenly slammed open.

Kabir stood there.

His presence alone froze me in place.

His expression was dark—burning with anger I had never seen before.

He walked straight toward me and grabbed my shoulder tightly.

"Do you even understand what you've done?" he said sharply.

"I'm sorry, Kabir… I didn't know—" I tried to explain, my voice shaking due to pain, regret and fear!

But he cut me off instantly.

"Don't speak," he said coldly. "Not another word… or I swear I'll lose control."

I stood frozen.

His grip tightened as he continued, his voice filled with disbelief and hurt.

"I never thought you could fall this low. I didn't think you were capable of this."

My throat tightened. "Kabir… what happened? What are you talking about?"

His hold on my shoulder became firmer, and pain shot through me.

I winced. "Please… it hurts. Let go of my arm."

For a moment, something flickered in his eyes—but the anger still dominated.

"And what about what you did to Amma?" he said, his voice rising.

Then suddenly, he released my hand.

The impact of his words lingered in the air, heavier than anything else.

"What happened to Amma?" I asked immediately, panic rising in my voice. "I was looking for her."

I turned toward the door, ready to go out —

But before I could take a step, Kabir grabbed my wrist....!

I had glass bangles on.

The moment his grip tightened, they shattered...

A sharp pain shot through my hand as fragments cut into my skin.

I cried out in pain, "Ahh—Kabir!"

But he didn't seem to notice.

His anger had completely taken over him.

Without a word, he pulled me forcefully toward him and shoved me aside.

"Enough of the drama, Aaira."

Kabir's voice cut through the room like ice.

"You tried to run… and you played with Amma's life to do it."

I stared at him, completely shaken.

"What are you saying, Kabir? I didn't do anything!"

He let out a cold, humorless laugh.

"Oh really? Then who gave Amma sleeping pills? Who made sure it was an overdose—enough to trigger her condition?"

My breath stopped.

"What…?"

"If I hadn't reached on time," he continued, his voice rising with anger, "I don't know what would've happened to her."

My legs almost gave way.

I stepped toward him quickly. "Kabir, please listen to me. I swear I didn't do anything. Ramesh told me Amma was with Navya… I didn't know—"

But he cut me off instantly.

"Lies," he said sharply. "All lies. I don't believe a single word coming out of your mouth anymore."

His eyes were filled with rage and disappointment.

"You wanted to leave na, Fair enough ! Now I'll throw you out from this brothel soon. ! .

"Once Amma is stable," he said coldly, "I'll drop you back to your aunt. And that's the end of this."

"

My voice broke. Ok ! But please just let me meet to amma !"Please… just let me go."

But his expression didn't change.

I took a shaky step , turned toward the door, ready to go out again to see amma—

But before I could move further, Kabir grabbed my shoulder and shoved me back with force.

Stay away from Amma - He screamed loudly!

I lost my balance instantly.

My body slipped and I fell hard near the bed.

A sharp impact hit my head, and everything spun for a moment.

I winced, reaching up instinctively, feeling warmth at the side of my head.

My vision blurred slightly as I sat there in shock, trying to process what had just happened.

The room fell silent except for my uneven breathing.

And Kabir… still stood there, frozen between rage and something unspoken he wasn't ready to face !

He looked at me one last time—like I was something he no longer wanted to see.

Then, without another word, he turned away.

And walked out.
