Chapter 182 - Chapter One Hundred Eighty-Two: The Legacy

Chapter One Hundred Eighty-Two: The Legacy

The family gathered in the penthouse for the reading of Victoria's will.

It was a somber occasion, but also a celebration. Victoria had left instructions that everyone should come together, share a meal, and remember the good times.

Lina sat at the head of the table, Ethan beside her. The room was filled with laughter and tears and the particular chaos of a family that was learning to heal.

---

The lawyer arrived at two o'clock.

She was a young woman with kind eyes and a calm voice. She opened the will and began to read.

"To my son, Ethan, I leave the family home and all its contents."

Ethan cried.

Lina held his hand.

---

"To my grandchildren, Lily and Leo, I leave my journals. They contain the story of my life. I hope they will help you understand who I was, and who I tried to become."

Lily cried. Leo held Maya's hand.

---

"To my great-grandchildren, Grace, Stella, Clara, and Samuel, I leave my jewelry. It is not expensive, but it has meaning. Wear it in good health."

Grace, Stella, Clara, and Samuel hugged each other.

---

"To my great-great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Aurora, and Melody, I leave my books. They are not valuable, but they are filled with stories. May you find joy in them."

Eleanor, Aurora, and Melody looked at each other with wide eyes.

---

"To my great-great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-great-grandchildren, I leave my love. May you always know that you are loved, no matter what."

The babies cooed.

---

"Finally, to Lina," the lawyer read. "I leave my gratitude. You saved my life. You gave me a family. You showed me that love is stronger than hate. Thank you. I love you."

Lina cried.

Ethan held her hand.

---

After the reading, the family gathered in the garden.

The sun was warm. The flowers were blooming. The birds were singing.

"She was a remarkable woman," Lily said.

Lina nodded. "She was."

"She taught me that people can change."

Lina looked at her daughter.

"She taught me that too."

---

Lina sat on the bench in the garden, Victoria's favorite spot.

She closed her eyes.

She could almost see Victoria sitting beside her.

"I miss you," Lina whispered.

The wind blew through the garden.

Lina smiled.

She knew Victoria was listening.

---

That night, Lina sat on the couch with Ethan.

The penthouse was quiet. The family was gone. Victoria was gone.

"How do you feel?" Ethan asked.

"Full," Lina said. "Not from the food. From... everything. From her life. From her love. From her legacy."

Ethan put his arm around her.

"She would be proud of you," he said.

Lina leaned into him.

"I hope so," she said.
