Chapter 3
The entire hall fell into dead silence.
I could hear whispers spreading like fire.
"Did she just say the groom was hers?"
"Oh my God… what's going on?"
My sister stood frozen, her face turning pale.
Arif looked like his world was about to collapse.
Good.
That's exactly how I felt yesterday.
"Nadia… what are you doing?" he hissed under his breath.
I smiled sweetly.
"Just telling the truth."
My sister grabbed his arm tightly. "Arif… what is she talking about?"
He didn't answer.
Because he couldn't.
The truth was already out.
Tears filled my sister's eyes. "You… you were with her?"
Still silence.
That silence was his answer.
The guests started murmuring louder.
The perfect wedding was turning into a disaster.
Suddenly—
A deep voice cut through the chaos.
"That's enough."
Everyone turned.
A tall man in a black suit stepped forward.
I had never seen him before.
But the moment he walked in…
The entire atmosphere changed.
Power.
Confidence.
Control.
He walked straight toward me.
My heart skipped a beat.
Why is he coming to me?
He stopped right beside me.
Then, to everyone's shock—
He gently took my hand.
"She's not lying."
Gasps echoed across the hall.
I looked at him, confused.
Who is he?
He glanced at me briefly, his eyes calm but intense.
"From now on," he said coldly, looking at Arif—
"She's under my protection."
The hall exploded with whispers.
Arif's face darkened. "Who the hell are you?"
The man smirked slightly.
"Someone you can't afford to mess with."
My fingers tightened unconsciously in his grip.
I didn't even know this man.
But for the first time since everything broke—
I felt…
Safe.
And something told me—
This wasn't the end.
It was just the beginning.
