Chapter 3 - Teyvat’s Number One Romantic

"The ones I just killed… Guuji Yae, you don't mind, do you?" Kagami Ren tilted his head slightly, glancing at Yae Miko beside him.

"Not at all." Yae Miko shook her head "My name is Yae Miko, Guuji of the Grand Narukami Shrine." . A group of bandits wasn't worth her concern. They had oppressed the common people for a long time—killing them could even be considered a good deed.

"Mm." Kagami Ren nodded. Perhaps it was the absolute confidence brought by the Herrscher of the Void's power—he felt no discomfort at all after killing.

"Guuji Yae, could you introduce Inazuma to me? I plan to stay here for a while," Kagami Ren said. "On the way here, I heard people talking about something called the Sakoku Decree and the Vision Hunt Decree."

"Yes." Yae Miko nodded gently, reaching out to catch a drifting sakura petal.

"This is Inazuma—land of the Electro Archon. And from the looks of it… not a peaceful one., the Raiden Shogun. She believes in eternity, and in pursuit of that ideal, she enacted both the Sakoku Decree and the Vision Hunt Decree," Yae Miko explained. "She has cut off all contact with the outside world and forcibly confiscates Visions from the people."

"The Sakoku Decree has dealt a severe blow to Inazuma's economy and livelihoods." A trace of sadness appeared in her voice. "As you can see, Inazuma is now riddled with wounds. And my irresponsible old friend… hides away in isolation."

"She left everything to a dull, lifeless puppet to govern the nation. But how could a rigid machine possibly rule a country?" Yae Miko's tone carried a hint of anger. Inazuma was something she cherished—how could she bear to see it like this?

"Sounds like a truly irresponsible god," Kagami Ren said, shaking his head. Ahead of them was Inazuma City. It seemed he had landed quite close to it.

At that moment, a ball rolled over and stopped right at Kagami Ren's feet.

He bent down to pick it up just as a little girl ran over, looking up at him expectantly. Not far away, a few other children watched shyly.

The girl looked like a delicate porcelain doll, her small face still full of innocent joy from playing with her friends—a stark contrast to the oppressive atmosphere of Inazuma City.

"Little one, is this your ball?" Kagami Ren crouched down and asked gently.

"Handsome big brother, it's mine. I'm very sorry for bothering you," the girl said quickly, apologizing.

"Such a good girl." Kagami Ren smiled and gently patted her head. He took out a piece of White Rabbit milk candy from his pocket, unwrapped it, and handed it to her.

"Thank you, big brother!" The girl popped the candy into her mouth, her face lighting up with a sweet, delighted smile.

"Watch this." Kagami Ren stood up and looked toward a nearby hoop.

The girl watched eagerly as he tossed the ball—it arced perfectly through the air and dropped straight into the hoop.

"Wow! Big brother is amazing!" The girl clapped excitedly. Children's happiness was that simple.

"Here, take these and share them with your friends. Big brother has something to do," Kagami Ren said, handing her a small handful of White Rabbit candies.

"Thank you, big brother! Bye-bye!" The girl ran off happily, eager to share her treats.

As Kagami Ren stood up, he noticed Yae Miko staring at him intently.

"What is it?" he asked curiously.

"Nothing… I'm just a little surprised. As a god, you can still get along so well with children?" Yae Miko shook her head, clearly intrigued.

"I like seeing the smiles of well-behaved children," Kagami Ren said with a grin. After all, he was still young himself.

As long as they weren't brats, human children were incredibly adorable.

"…Alright then. Do you have any more of that candy?" Yae Miko extended her fair, jade-like hand.

"Just two left." Kagami Ren took out the last two candies from his pocket and placed one in her hand.

"So sweet." Yae Miko placed it in her mouth, a soft, sweet smile forming on her lips as she murmured, "Ei would definitely like this taste too."

"…"

Kagami Ren was momentarily stunned. In the game, she was always sly and teasing—when had she ever shown such a sweet expression? Then again, her ever-changing demeanor was part of her charm.

Still… this gentle side of Yae Miko truly lived up to her reputation as a fox spirit—utterly captivating.

"Ding~ Congratulations, host, for witnessing Yae Miko's stunningly beautiful side and feeling amazed. Title unlocked: Teyvat's Number One Romantic."

"Title effect: You are the most devoted man in all of Teyvat. Being affectionate can also mean being deeply devoted. You possess extremely high affinity with any opposite-sex individual. As long as you do not violate their principles, they will choose to trust you and become your friend. Your confessions are more likely to be accepted. Upon successful confession, you will obtain all of their abilities."

"???"

The system's voice snapped Kagami Ren out of his thoughts. His expression turned strange. The trigger conditions for this system were really… random.

And what kind of ridiculous title was this—Teyvat's Number One Romantic? But… wasn't this actually amazing? If he came to Teyvat and didn't get close to his "wives," what was the point?

Kagami Ren glanced at Yae Miko. Sure enough, under the effect of the title, her earlier wariness had noticeably faded, replaced by a more relaxed demeanor.

"Up ahead is Uyuu Restaurant. It's almost mealtime—how about we eat together?" Yae Miko suddenly suggested.

"The fried tofu there is exquisite."

"I've heard about fried tofu for a long time, but never had the chance to try it. Today, I'd like to taste how it is in this world." Kagami Ren's eyes lit up. He had always wanted to try it, but in his previous life, he had only ever found tofu puffs in hotpot restaurants.

"But… I don't have any Mora," Kagami Ren said with a sigh. If only he had his inventory from his previous life—billions of Mora would've let him live comfortably here.

"That's no problem. I'll treat you. Why would Lord Kagami Ren worry about something so trivial?" Since the title had taken effect, Yae Miko seemed less reserved and more teasing again, even changing the way she addressed him.

"However, Mora isn't so easy to earn. But if Lord Kagami Ren agrees to one request of mine, then all your expenses in Inazuma can be covered by the Grand Narukami Shrine," Yae Miko said with a sly smile.

"Oh? What request? Let's hear it." Kagami Ren's interest was instantly piqued. Covered by the shrine? Did that mean he could just say, "Send the bill to the Grand Narukami Shrine" from now on?
