Chapter 25: Visit from the Holy Spirit Sect (1 / 1)

"Brother, what's wrong with you?"

Meng Hongchen looked at her dazed older brother with curiosity.

Only then did Xiao Hongchen snap out of his earlier shock.

He turned to her and asked urgently, "Meng, who was that person who just left our house?"

"You mean Jiang Li? He was invited by Grandpa as a guest," Meng Hongchen immediately thought of Jiang Li.

Hearing this, Xiao Hongchen took a deep breath.

Then he said excitedly, "I'm going to defeat him!"

Just as he finished speaking, Jing Hongchen's voice came from behind.

"Xiao, you should at least reach Titled Douluo before talking about defeating Jiang Li."

Xiao Hongchen froze and turned around. "Grandpa, Jiang Li is a Titled Douluo? He looks like he's not even twenty."

Not only him, even Meng Hongchen looked shocked.

She knew Jiang Li was strong, but she never thought he was a Titled Douluo.

Jing Hongchen walked up to them and looked in the direction Jiang Li had left.

After a brief silence, he said slowly:

"Jiang Li is not a Titled Douluo. In fact, he has no soul power at all."

"What?! Grandpa, you're joking, right? That guy clearly has an overwhelming aura! How can he have no soul power?"

Xiao Hongchen reacted the most strongly, almost shouting.

Meng Hongchen was also stunned, staring at her grandfather.

Jing Hongchen glanced at his grandson helplessly.

"Although Jiang Li has no soul power, he still makes me feel threatened."

He paused, then continued.

"Also… the Sunset Water Alliance was destroyed by him."

At those words, both Xiao Hongchen and Meng Hongchen fell into silence.

Not speechless—but shocked beyond words.

After a long moment, Meng Hongchen whispered, "Grandpa… is Jiang Li really that strong?"

Before Jing Hongchen could answer, Xiao Hongchen suddenly spoke.

"Meng, Jiang Li's strength is beyond doubt. I felt it myself. Just looking at him made my whole body tremble."

Then he suddenly laughed.

"I've finally found my goal. I will surpass Jiang Li!"

Hearing this, Jing Hongchen and Meng Hongchen looked at him like he was an idiot.

They both had the same thought:

He's at it again…

——

At the same time, in the Evil Forest, Holy Spirit Sect headquarters.

"You're saying the Sunset Water Alliance you manage was wiped out overnight by someone with no soul power?"

In the meeting room, Zhong Liwu's face was completely dark.

Nangong Wan nodded repeatedly.

"Yes, Sect Master. That boy not only has terrifying physical talent, but also carries a very strange weapon that can forcibly break my martial soul and soul skills."

Zhong Liwu frowned slightly, thinking.

Then he asked, "He released you just to get those portraits?"

"Yes, Sect Master," Nangong Wan replied seriously. "His goal was only those people in the portraits. Because there were too many in the Sunset Water Alliance, he killed them all."

Zhong Liwu took a deep breath.

"Prepare. Tonight I will go with you and see what kind of person he is."

"Yes, Sect Master!" Nangong Wan bowed respectfully.

——

Night fell.

In the underground cavern of the Sunset Water Alliance, the smell of blood still lingered. Dark red stains remained on broken stone pillars.

Jiang Li leaned against the deepest wall of the cavern, idly teasing Xiao You on his shoulder.

Soon, footsteps approached cautiously from the entrance.

Nangong Wan appeared, holding a black cloth-wrapped wooden box. His steps were unsteady, his eyes filled with fear and caution.

"Senior."

His voice trembled slightly as he stopped a few steps away.

He gently placed the box on the ground and pushed it forward.

"The things you wanted… I brought them."

The black cloth slipped off.

Inside were five neatly arranged heads—the five evil soul masters from the portraits.

Jiang Li glanced at them indifferently.

"Nangong elder is more efficient than I expected."

His voice echoed through the cavern.

Cold sweat appeared on Nangong Wan's forehead.

"I would not dare disobey senior."

He kept his head lowered, but secretly glanced toward the shadows above.

There, a black-robed figure was hiding—Zhong Liwu.

Zhong Liwu's eyes narrowed slightly as he observed Jiang Li.

A youth under twenty. No soul power whatsoever.

And yet he had wiped out hundreds of evil soul masters in one night, forcing a Titled Douluo like Nangong Wan into submission.

Jiang Li suddenly smiled faintly, as if sensing something.

He looked up toward the shadows.

"Nangong elder, if you're so sincere, why bring a guest along? Hiding is rather impolite."

Nangong Wan's expression changed instantly.

Zhong Liwu was also startled—he hadn't expected to be discovered.

After a brief pause, he stepped out of the shadows.

"Sharp perception," he said calmly, his gaze sharp as a hawk.

Jiang Li glanced at him, then at Nangong Wan.

"Nangong elder, aren't you going to introduce your guest?"

Nangong Wan froze, speechless.

Zhong Liwu then spoke on his own.

"I am Zhong Liwu, Sect Master of the Holy Spirit Sect. May I ask your name?"

"Jiang Li. Just a bounty hunter," Jiang Li replied casually.

"Bounty hunter?" Zhong Liwu frowned slightly.

Then he asked, "If you only wanted those few people, why slaughter my Holy Spirit Sect members as well?"

Jiang Li slowly stood up, a careless smile forming.

"Are you serious? Were those people really innocent? Sect Master Zhong knows better than I do."

Zhong Liwu fell silent.

Jiang Li didn't bother continuing the conversation. He picked up the black box containing the heads and turned to leave.

But the next second—

Zhong Liwu spoke again.

"Since you are a bounty hunter… I assume you do not refuse commissions?"
