Chapter 2 - Family Love

Tyler, holding three coins, felt guilty for making such a big mistake.

He never thought his parents had gone through so much just to get these coins for him.

His desire to use them for more profit vanished at this moment. Although he wanted to support Erena, he didn't want to give up on his parents' hard work.

"I understand. Thank you for reminding me, Alfred!"

Tyler released a deep breath before thanking his butler.

Alfred shook his head and said.

"I understand your intentions, Young Master. Erena has a great talent. Supporting her cultivation would be good, but you can't use those coins."

"They are not just to buy the resources from Star Plasma Pavilion. You can also ask for their protection and even give them an assassination task."

"Each coin is worth an extra life, Young Master!"

Hearing his words, Erena's eyes widened. She hurriedly ran in front of Tyler and bowed her head.

"Young Master, your life is more important than Erena."

Tyler shook his head and said.

"Okay, I will not give them away. But I will find other ways to help you improve, Erena."

Erena couldn't help but burst into tears. Her Young Master always supported her, and she couldn't even help him.

She had no talent in business, not much talent in housekeeping. She only had talent for cultivation, but even then, she had to rely on her Young Master.

She truly felt useless.

So, imagine how useless Tyler was feeling right now.

His talent was so low that he would rather entrust his safety to others than improve his strength.

He sighed and returned to his room. After placing those coins inside his locker, he waved at Alfred and left his house.

Five minutes' walk from his house, he arrived at the Third Elder's residence. The third elder's name was Robert Grant.

He was two hundred and sixty-five years old. He was also at the peak of the Soul Sublimation Realm.

The cultivation realms of this world were divided into six known realms and three unknown realms.

Putting aside three unknown realms, the six known realms were the Mana Condensation Realm, the Treasured Body Realm, the Soul Sublimation Realm, the Inner World Formation Realm, the Law Creation Realm, and the Death Rebirth Realm.

The first Mana Condensation Realm was a realm where the cultivator could absorb the spiritual energy from the surroundings and, using their inherited technique, transform the spiritual energy into mana.

By storing the mana inside the Mana Circuit, they could slowly open the Mana Pool. The Mana Pool was a special space inside the human body created through the condensation of mana.

Thus, it was called the Mana Condensation Realm.

After reaching the peak of the Mana Condensation Realm, one could live up to a hundred years with the body capability of their middle age.

Even till their death, their bodies wouldn't deteriorate.

But it was only in the Treasured Body Realm that one could truly increase their lifespan. By constantly improving their body and inner organs, they would gain greater life force.

It would also make their regeneration stronger, giving them a lifespan of more than two hundred years.

Finally, it was the Soul Sublimation Realm. It was also the highest realm that Tyler had seen.

In this realm, one could transform one's soul and become immortal. At least, their soul wouldn't die of natural causes, and even if they die, they could use their souls to seize another body.

Of course, not all people could do that, and if they were found doing this, they would be punished by other people.

Even so, the person in the Soul Sublimation Realm could live up to five hundred years or more.

It was truly impressive, so much so that when Tyler was reborn in this world, his goal was to become a cultivator.

Unfortunately, he couldn't remain optimistic. Whether it was out of his cautious nature or his knowledge of a previous life, he felt like he could be born with low talent.

So, he was waiting for various incidents like finding a ring with the ghost grandpa, an amazing treasure, or even a system.

Unfortunately, none of them arrived.

Even after his awakening, he had been thinking about the system, but it hadn't worked.

'There is still one chance. Maybe if I cultivate, I can activate my cheat. This is my only chance.'

Tyler was putting everything in this. Since he hadn't given up on those gold coins, he regained some of his confidence as a transmigrator.

Knock! Knock!

He knocked on the door a few times before it opened. It was one of the servants who immediately bowed his head.

"Greeting, Young Master! Are you here to visit my Lord?"

"Yes, please inform him!"

Tyler nodded and asked him. He could go inside and directly meet the Third Elder. But he decided to wait.

After a moment, the servant returned.

"Young Master, My Lord is waiting for you inside!"

He took him to the Third Elder's room and opened the door.

"Greeting, Third Elder!"

Tyler closed the door and bowed, showing utmost respect to the Elder.

Unlike the previous elder, who was just a normal Elder, this was the Third Elder, also one of the most important members of the clan.

"Raise your head, Tyler! It has been a long time since we've met. So, did you bring your badge?"

The Third Elder barely opened an eye. He was meditating in his bed while speaking. He wore a black robe over his white shirt and blue pants.

He had a goatee and clean-shaven cheeks.

Tyler took out the silver badge, and seeing this, the Third Elder showed a look of disappointment.

"So, your technique is low. It seems you didn't inherit your father's talent."

"I am sorry to disappoint you, Elder!"

Tyler apologized immediately.

"No need, child! I am just disappointed in your past. If your mother hadn't had that accident, maybe you would've been born with good talent."

"Maybe your cells were affected? Maybe your blood was affected? At least, your brain wasn't affected."

"No matter what, you can take this certificate!"

The third elder took out a certificate from a ring and passed it to Tyler. It floated towards him while the silver badge left his hand.

Seeing this exchange, Tyler silently accepted the certificate, but when he read the certificate, his eyes widened.

"Elder, this is…"

The Third Elder raised his hand and waved.

"I know what it is, and I know what you need. Now, go back and live a normal life! If you ever encounter a problem, do not forget to call the clan."

"We are still your family."

Tyler felt his eyes sting a little.

When he was reborn in this world, he always believed that it was a cruel world of cultivation.

To a certain extent, it was. But one thing that never disappointed him was his family.

Despite being an orphan nearly ten years ago, his family never caused him any trouble.

In any other cultivation world, this wouldn't be the case. Except for young people, adults always took care of him.

Even when he saved Erena and caused a conflict between his family and another force, his family didn't blame him.

"Don't cry in my room! Go, go! Sho!"

The Third Elder noticed his expression and waved his hand hurriedly. Tyler once again bowed, this time going as low as he could before he left.

After he closed the door, the Third Elder sighed.

"I never thought he would be so insecure in his own family. What a cursed fate it is that we have no choice but to rely on talent."

At this moment, his cloudy eyes became a bit serious as he muttered.

"What happened, Richard? You, who was supposed to be the brightest talent in the Grant Family, chose to leave everything behind, including your child."

"Was your karma that heavy? Was the family nothing but a burden to you?"

His voice was full of helplessness.

Tyler wasn't just any ordinary child. He could be considered his grandson. For some reason, after his birth, Richard forced his father to never meet his grandson.

His father was none other than the head of the Grant Family. During this incident, Richard also erased all the memories of other people.

So, nobody knew Richard was the son of the current head of the Grant Family. Likewise, nobody knew Tyler was the grandson of the current head of the Family.

Nobody in the family understood why Richard did that, but they all knew his strength had long surpassed them.

Leaving behind a six-year-old child, triggering a fake-out death scene, and abandoning his family, they knew Richard's choice was for the safety of the family.

But they couldn't understand his enemies. They weren't even allowed to know his enemies.

Such a gap left everyone else. For the sake of his family, Tyler's grandfather never got to acknowledge his own grandson.

"At least, your son will get to live a normal life. With Alfred protecting him, there is nothing to worry about. I hope you can return soon, child."
