Synopsis
"She chose his darkness." "In a world of blood, she was his only weakness." Some love stories begin with a confession. Ours began with a tragedy. They say love is supposed to be soft. Gentle. Safe. But no one ever tells you what happens when love is built on loss... when it grows in silence... when it becomes the only thing you have left. I didn't fall in love with Wang Hedi. I grew up loving him. Somewhere between shared nightmares and quiet midnights, between ten-minute distances that never really separated us... he became my home. And I became his. But homes aren't supposed to feel like warzones. And love- Love isn't supposed to feel like something you might lose any second. I knew what he was. I knew the blood on his hands wasn't just a rumor. I knew the world he lived in could destroy anyone who got too close. But I stayed. Because he was the only person who stayed when my world ended. Maybe that was my first mistake. Or maybe- It was the only choice I ever had. Because when you love someone like him... You don't get to walk away. You only get to decide- How much of yourself you're willing to lose before it breaks you. And the worst part? I don't know if I'm trying to save him anymore... Or if I'm the one slowly being destroyed.

Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE

Sirens echoed through the darkness. Red lights blurred against wet roads. And somewhere between the chaos and the silence that followed—

Two children stood alone.

Kim Monami Anxin didn't understand what death meant.

Not fully.

But she understood that her parents weren't waking up.

Her small fingers clutched his hand tightly, trembling.

"Don't cry," Wang Hedi whispered, even though his own voice was breaking.

She shook her head, tears streaming down her face.

"I'm scared..."

He tightened his grip.

"I'm here."

And somehow—

That was enough.

From that night on, they became everything to each other.

Not by choice.

By survival.

Ten minutes apart.

That's how far their houses were.

Close enough to run to each other when the nightmares came.

Close enough to never truly be alone.

Because after losing everything—

They only had each other left.
