My phone screen glowed too brightly, a relentless stream of notifications popping up against the wallpaper. Dozens of missed calls. Endless unanswered texts. A trail of frantic, unraveling attempts at communication spanning the last three days.
I rested my thumb over the screen, slowly scrolling back through the log.

I swiped upward, watching the time stamps shift over the days following the Obsidian Awards disaster.
