Chapter 15 -   A Terrifying Talent

Kimoto Doichi's cold tone startled Yamata Jumoku and Motoya Tako.

Orion glanced at them and shook his head.

"Sensei, don't scare them."

Doichi smirked slightly from the water's surface.

"What? Aren't you going to try?"

All three turned to look at Orion.

They already knew he was stronger than them—

And they were curious…

Could he learn this technique?

Orion paused.

The truth was—

The moment Doichi explained the principle, he had already fully understood it.

Even the required chakra output…

He had already calculated it.

But—

Understanding and doing were different things.

So he stepped forward.

"Give it a try," Doichi said.

Orion nodded.

He walked to the edge.

Chakra flowed through his pathways instantly.

His gaze sharpened.

Then—

He stepped onto the water.

Splash—

The surface dented under his foot.

For a moment, it looked like he would fall—

But suddenly—

The water rebounded.

It lifted him up.

Then—

His second foot followed.

And just like that—

He stood on the water.

Perfectly stable.

"…What the hell?!"

Jumoku's jaw dropped.

"You've practiced this before, right?!"

Tako's eyes sparkled in disbelief.

Even Doichi froze.

"You… you learned it?!"

Even Orion was surprised.

He knew his stats had improved—

But first try?

That was beyond expectation.

Only now did he truly understand how terrifying his Exceptional Learning Ability was.

Even prodigies like Sasuke Uchiha took an entire day to master similar techniques like tree climbing—

And that came with injuries.

Meanwhile—

Orion succeeded instantly.

"I… don't know. I just did it."

His calm, almost innocent response made the others twitch.

If this weren't the wrong situation—

They might've beaten him up out of frustration.

But Orion was telling the truth.

The moment he heard the explanation—

His mind broke down every detail.

Every variable.

Every calculation.

All he had to do was execute.

And his chakra control…

Was already precise enough.

Doichi finally snapped out of it.

Even with his experience, he couldn't stay calm.

"This… this isn't talent…"

If Kakashi Hatake were here, he would say—

This isn't a genius.

This is a monster.

Even Kakashi took a full day to master water walking—

And he was trained since childhood.

Orion?

He had only learned the Three Basic Techniques before this.

"Have you really never learned this before?" Doichi asked seriously.

Orion shook his head.

"I only know the basic academy techniques."

Doichi sighed.

"Then the academy… held you back."

He meant it.

Completely.

Jumoku and Tako nodded in agreement.

"Yeah… you were way too low-key."

"If you showed this earlier, even Sasuke wouldn't be your match."

Orion waved his hand.

"I don't want trouble. Have you seen how many people Sasuke has to deal with every day?"

Doichi narrowed his eyes.

"So that's why you hid your talent?"

Orion nodded.

"Why invite trouble? I had to stay in the academy for six years."

His tone was sincere.

Too sincere.

Even Doichi—an interrogation expert—believed him completely.

He let out a small laugh.

All those suspicions…

And the reason was this simple?

"Alright," Doichi said, regaining composure.

"Since you've learned it—go try standing in flowing water."

He wanted to see Orion's limit.

Jumoku and Tako watched eagerly.

Even if they couldn't do it—

At least their teammate could.

Orion stepped forward.

Toward the flowing current.

The moment he reached it—

His brain processed everything.

Flow speed.

Pressure variation.

Surface instability.

His body adjusted instantly.

Chakra output changed dynamically.

And—

He stood there.

On moving water.

Perfectly stable.

The three on the shore froze.

Even Doichi's eyes widened.

"This guy… is a monster."

Jumoku whispered, "Sensei… is it harder to stand on moving water?"

Doichi twitched.

"Of course it is!"

"With flowing water, chakra output has to constantly adjust."

"It's at least ten times harder than still water."

He paused.

"When I trained… it took me ten days just to barely manage it."

"And he…"

He didn't finish the sentence.

He didn't need to.

At that moment—

Doichi realized something.

Soon…

He might have nothing left to teach Orion.

Because if Orion could master this level of chakra control instantly—

Then learning other jutsu would only be easier.

Water-walking wasn't just basic—

It was one of the most demanding exercises in chakra precision.

Even harder than many C-rank techniques.

And Orion had mastered it in seconds.
