Chapter 128 - Chapter 1: Mordred Wants to Get Angry

Month X, Year 2030, Tokyo Area...

As part of the first team to explore the local customs and practices, Mordred was glaring at everyone she saw with her rebellious eyes.

She had already beaten up quite a few people who came up to talk to her; some might even have had their internal organs smashed by her punch, as she didn't even know if she had held back her strength at the time.

Maybe she had; after all, she, Mordred, wasn't such a bad child with a personality so poor that she couldn't even hold back her strength...

Behind her followed five little girls, dressed in rags and covered in wounds, but currently wrapping their shoulders with long Gray cloth.

And the pupils of these little girls were, without exception, all red.

Cursed Children.

This was the derogatory term used for them by the people of this world.

There was no trace of pity in this term, only hatred added specifically to vent their own incompetence.

When she arrived at the meeting point, the other homunculi who had entered Tokyo with her were already waiting there.

And within the defensive perimeter formed by those homunculi, about ten little girls were huddled together, cautiously lowering their heads, as if that was the only way to avoid being noticed.

"Tsk, has the intelligence been collected?" Mordred asked in a rough tone.

"Yes, Lady Mordred," the leading homunculus nodded and replied. "The purpose of this trip has been perfectly achieved, and we also brought back these children who were being maliciously attacked by others on the side of the street."

"Heh, hearing you call them children is really quite amusing." A strange smile hung on Mordred's face.

After all, although this batch of homunculi was created relatively early, in terms of age, they were less than a year old and should definitely call these little girls 'older sister'.

"Um, may I ask where you are taking us?" Among the ten protected little girls, one girl with her eyes bandaged gathered her courage and asked.

"To a place that can be considered a paradise for you," Mordred looked at the little girl and replied. "Where you can eat nutritious food, drink clean water, and change into clean clothes to sit in a bright classroom and learn knowledge."

"Can we live such a life?" This time, it was a little girl following behind Mordred who spoke.

"Of course you can." Mordred nodded heavily. "By the way, you were so wary of everyone before that you would growl in your throat if anyone got even slightly close; why are you acting like you can believe what we say now?"

"...Your eyes." The little girl looked up at Mordred's eyes and then lowered her head to answer. "The way you look at us is different from everyone else. Although it makes people feel a bit itchy all over, it doesn't make one feel afraid."

This was probably the experience the child had accumulated over her eight or nine years of life.

Mordred curled her lips, her gaze, filled with a bit of anger and hatred, glancing elsewhere.

"Just as he said, it truly is a rotten world."

"Alright, everyone, time to go. Line up, and don't fall behind." To these little girls, Mordred put on another face.

For some reason, she really couldn't treat these little girls with a bad attitude.

Among the crowd on both sides of the road, quite a few people gathered together, whispering as they watched this group.

The little girls were surrounded on all sides, while the homunculi watched the sides of the road vigilantly, guarding at all times against anyone rushing over to launch a surprise attack on the little girls they were surrounding.

They had encountered this situation before; if it hadn't been for the warning from 'that adult' in advance, these dozen or so little girls might have lost three or four of their number.

When approaching the so-called monoliths, Mordred placed her hand on one.

"I suddenly feel like destroying this thing." Tapping on the huge rectangular black wall, which was 1.618 kilometers high and about one kilometer wide, Mordred wore an expression that left one unsure if she was joking or serious.

"Lady Mordred, the consequence of doing that would likely lead to children under ten who are still inside suffering life-threatening danger," the homunculus beside her stepped forward to remind her.

"Ah, I know, I know, I was just saying." Mordred frowned with dissatisfaction. "If it really came to that, the first one of these things certainly shouldn't be destroyed by me."

A massive recreational vehicle was parked not far away.

"Yahoo, Mordred-chan, welcome back!" In the driver's cab, a girl with short blonde hair, tanned skin, dressed like a young boy, and heterochromatic eyes poked her head out and greeted Mordred.

"Aura, why do you get to stay in the car?" Mordred complained, looking at her with displeasure.

"Because I have to protect the car without being noticed." Aura shrugged, looking at Mordred with an expression that said, 'Do you think I don't want to go out and play?'

"Forget it, let's go back quickly. I've had enough of this disgusting place." Mordred opened the car door and urged the little girls to get on board.

"Yeah, I can tell." Aura started the engine and let it warm up.

Half a minute later, the RV drove away amidst the surprised cheers of the little girls as they ate delicious snacks and drank warm, slightly sweet beverages.

The children's bodies were fully capable of handling solid food after not eating for many days.

About five kilometers away from the Tokyo Area, a city protected by thick stone walls stood tall.

Around the city walls were displayed the carcasses of many massive Gastrea.

Many Purification Knights clad in heavy armor were busy handling these carcasses.

This was the result of the first day after Camelot was established in this world.

Thousands of Purification Knights stood on the walls in three-person formations, observing the surroundings of the city from all directions.

Thousands more Purification Knights were clearing the debris after the great battle.

When the RV appeared within their line of sight, the Purification Knights in charge of observation on the wall waved to those inside the city, and the previously closed city gates slowly opened shortly after.

"Kids!" Seeing this, Mordred, who was in the passenger seat, turned her upper body around to look at the well-fed little ones inside the cabin and gave a bright smile. "Welcome to your new world, the new paradise for children, Camelot."
