Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 Buying a Villa

For a wealthy household, there was no need for too many luxury cars. The only pity was that Rimuru didn't have a driver's license. She didn't want to be taken to the police station for questioning.

At night, she could wear her Wind God armor and go for a ride—or at least mimic wings and fly. During the day, however, she could only take the subway.

Rimuru's appearance was extremely striking, especially her flowing blue hair. Wherever she went, she attracted a very high rate of attention.

This made her slightly uncomfortable and embarrassed.

However, her strength gave her a strong sense of security.

On the way, a man in a suit and tie approached her, claiming to be a talent scout from a Hollywood agency. He admired her beauty, said she had star potential, and invited her to join the company to become a shining celebrity.

Rimuru simply smiled. Did he really think she was some naive girl?

Where had all those so-called "talent scouts" gone nowadays?

Even if there were any left, perhaps 90% of them were just people from the adult film industry pretending to be scouts.

After the talent scouting incident, various things happened along the way.

In short, after getting on the subway, Rimuru's mood became somewhat complicated.

What if I look too cute?

The journey took quite a while, passing through more than ten stations. As people came and went, Rimuru gradually noticed something strange.

There were far too many men in suits dressed in black, and even stranger, their eyes were always on her.

Unlike the curious looks from before, these gazes were highly aggressive, even though they were well concealed.

But to Rimuru, they were as obvious as bright spotlights.

Especially after noticing a man with a deeply receding hairline, Rimuru suddenly understood their identity.

So they were S.H.I.E.L.D. agents?!

To be honest, she was a little confused.

In the Marvel universe, S.H.I.E.L.D. was an unavoidable organization, and Rimuru had already prepared for them.

But what puzzled her was that they came before she had even caused any trouble.

Just how strong was S.H.I.E.L.D.'s surveillance capability? Did they even know about that missing Black man in Africa?

However, Rimuru quickly realized something else.

She was probably linked to Tony Stark, and Stark Industries had nearly been completely infiltrated by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

Even so, Iron Man and the Mark suits had already fought on the streets, while Coulson was still investigating how Tony escaped from terrorists.

S.H.I.E.L.D.—or rather, Hydra disguised as S.H.I.E.L.D.—was basically like this!

Rimuru preferred cooperating with S.H.I.E.L.D., but she did not accept being controlled.

For now, she would make a scene. The bigger the impact, the more bargaining power she would have when negotiating later.

Look at Thor. After showing overwhelming power, his brother caused chaos on Earth and even led the Chitauri invasion.

In the end, what did S.H.I.E.L.D. do?

They asked Thor to take Loki back to Asgard, along with the Tesseract, which originally belonged to S.H.I.E.L.D.

They invested Earth's resources into Asgard's happiness!

Therefore, power was extremely important—very, very important.

Paralysis Breath

Rimuru silently released a paralysis gas. The subway car was a closed space, so the effect should be even stronger.

A few seconds later—

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The sound of bodies collapsing continued one after another. Even Level 8 agent Coulson's expression darkened before he fell directly to the floor, making intimate contact with the subway carriage.

Rimuru watched in surprise as all the agents lay neatly on the ground.

To be honest, this was her first time seeing real-life agents!

Then Rimuru took out an oil-based marker from her stomach pouch and began drawing on Coulson's face and head.

Dark circles, little turtles, turtle eggs…

Not only that, she kindly arranged the agents on the seats in pairs.

When they woke up, the first thing they would see would be each other's sleeping faces.

After leaving the subway station, Rimuru felt refreshed and relaxed.

Not long after she left, several passengers entered the carriage—and within seconds, they began screaming.

"Holy crap!"

"My eyes hurt! It feels like needles stabbing them!"

What kind of moral decay is this? What kind of distortion of humanity?!

From luxury to frugality is easy, but from frugality back to luxury is difficult. After staying in Tony Stark's villa for a few days, Rimuru's perspective had expanded greatly.

Moreover, she now had some spare money, future dividends from Stark Industries, and profits from the healing potion "Goddess of Life's Comfort."

With all this, she naturally should treat herself better—she wasn't a masochist.

After some consideration, Rimuru decided to buy a villa on Long Island, New York.

The reason was simple—it was far enough from the city!

In the Marvel universe, New York was the most dangerous city in the world, without exception.

If her multi-million-dollar villa got blown up by aliens, she would be heartbroken.

Long Island is surrounded by sea on three sides and is actually a peninsula. Its west side borders Brooklyn and Queens in New York City, making transportation very convenient.

She even ended up becoming neighbors with Spider-Man.

Located in the temperate zone, Long Island has a mild maritime climate, with forest coverage and is considered one of the most livable regions.

Many wealthy people live there, and services on the island are excellent.

Jenny, the real estate agent specially selected by Pepper for Rimuru, was extremely professional and attentive.

Under Jenny's guidance, Rimuru quickly arrived at a wealthy villa district on the island.

From a distance, clusters of villas were scattered among lush green forests, blending architecture and nature into a harmonious landscape.

Cars drove along asphalt roads lined with tall swaying palm trees. The water was clear and sparkling, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

The villa Jenny introduced was a high-end European-style mansion covering several thousand square meters.

It had a garden, lawn, swimming pool—everything.

As Rimuru approached, she felt slightly emotional. It was truly, incredibly beautiful.

In her previous life, she could never have imagined owning such a mansion.

The house was large, two stories high, built mostly of stone, resembling a castle.

It had more than twenty rooms, including a studio, a movie room, a gym, a library, and even a wine cellar.

All furniture was fully equipped—you could move in with just a suitcase.

The only regret Rimuru had was that the house was too big, and she would be living alone.

It would feel empty, lonely, and cold.

However, when she saw the studio, her interest was instantly sparked.

The studio was enormous—even compared to Tony's lab, it was not much smaller.

A craftsman must first sharpen his tools before doing his work. She was determined to build something powerful. If the lab wasn't big enough, how could she do it?

Rimuru immediately decided to buy the villa.

Because Jenny was Pepper's trusted associate, she offered Rimuru a very reasonable price of one million dollars.

That was one-tenth of her total wealth, and Rimuru suddenly felt deep pain—even shedding a tear.

But once a decision was made, there was no turning back.

However, she couldn't pay it all at once, so she naturally chose installment payments.

After completing such a major deal, real estate agent Jenny smiled with satisfaction.

Under her management, she even arranged a full staff lineup: chefs, gardeners, cleaners, and security.

It had to be said—if you had money, life could truly be arranged exactly the way you wanted.
