Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Housewarming Party

Aeris held Son Gohan in her arms, teasing him while chatting with everyone else.

Gohan kept giggling from being teased.

Come to think of it, Saiyan growth was weird as hell. They grew ridiculously fast at first, then their bodies seemed to stop for a while, and after reaching a certain age they started growing like crazy again.

That always felt a little strange to Aeris.

She just didn't know whether this little guy had inherited that trait too.

After shopping with them for a bit, Aeris led everyone to an open space.

She took out the capsule holding the car and tossed it to the ground.

Pop.

A car appeared in front of them.

After putting all the things in the back, they got in.

Then Aeris drove them to her new villa.

Only when they got there, she found Bulma was already waiting.

"Oh? Bulma, why are you here?"

Aeris got out of the car and walked over to her.

Bulma poked Aeris in the forehead and snapped at her angrily,

"I came to replace your furniture and add a bunch of other things for you, you ungrateful brat. Honestly. I just finished everything and the first thing you say when you get back is asking why I'm here?"

"Hehe, my bad, Bulma. You're magnanimous and generous, so please don't hold it against me."

Aeris immediately started buttering her up while massaging her shoulders.

Bulma snorted.

"Oh, and by the way, I bought all the empty land around this area too. Consider it my housewarming gift for your new place."

The moment Aeris heard that, her eyes went wide.

What the hell had she just heard?

This…

This was the power of a rich woman?

Aeris instantly decided she didn't want to work hard anymore.

"Bulma… feed me… I can warm your bed… and I can fight too."

Bulma couldn't help laughing when she saw Aeris acting ridiculous like that.

Krillin blinked. "Bulma, you two know each other?"

Bulma nodded and said they were very close.

It was only natural that Krillin didn't know. These past years, he had been too busy running around just to make a living. He wasn't a rich girl like Bulma, and he didn't have a good wife at home like Goku either.

The more he thought about it, the more depressed he felt.

Everyone around him either had a family, had their career together, or both.

Meanwhile, he was still running around endlessly with nothing to show for it.

Even the person he liked was still just a secret crush.

He didn't even dare confess.

The more he thought about it, the more pathetic he felt.

While he was lost in his thoughts, Aeris handed him a bottle of drink.

"Here. Drink something. Sweet stuff usually helps a lot when you're feeling down."

Krillin took the drink blankly.

Aeris didn't bother asking what was going through his head. She just carried Gohan inside the villa.

Krillin stood there for a moment before following after them.

Aeris looked around the inside.

Well, damn.

It was all decorated exactly the way she liked.

Bulma really had been way too thoughtful.

She seriously didn't know who would get lucky enough to end up with someone like her in the future.

The general layout was the same as when she bought it. The only difference was that the style had been changed into something Aeris actually liked.

After taking a few more looks around, Aeris went into the kitchen and got busy.

Only, she wasn't alone there.

Chi-Chi and Bulma were both with her.

Aeris had originally planned to handle the cooking by herself. She could cook, after all.

But Chi-Chi felt bad just sitting around waiting to eat, so she came to help too.

Bulma's case was simpler.

Aeris had dragged her into the kitchen to help make desserts.

And that was how things ended up like this.

After more than an hour, the food was finally ready.

And the dishes on the table could only be described as piled up like a mountain.

Why?

Because there were two huge gluttons here.

As everyone knew, Saiyans were all big eaters.

Aeris might have had a little more self-control than most…

But that definitely didn't mean she ate less.

As Aeris's strength kept rising, her appetite had gone up right along with it.

"Well then, everyone… dig in."

Aeris said that to the others.

Everyone replied, "Let's eat."

Goku followed along and said it too, more or less copying the others. At home, he definitely didn't bother with any kind of table manners.

While everyone else was eating at a normal pace, chewing properly and taking their time, Goku's style stood out so much it looked like he had wandered in from a completely different world.

The man was devouring food like a storm.

Bulma and Chi-Chi watched Goku eat like that, then looked over at Aeris.

Aeris was much more refined by comparison.

That said…

She wasn't exactly slow either.

The two women couldn't help thinking the difference was huge.

After all, the only time Aeris ever ate like Goku was when she was absolutely starving.

Krillin noticed their expressions and asked curiously,

"What's with you two? Why are you looking at them like that?"

Chi-Chi answered, "Nothing. It's just… they're clearly from the same race, so how can their table manners be this different?"

Bulma nodded in agreement.

"Exactly. Aeris only throws dignity out the window when she's starving. Most of the time, she eats pretty neatly…"

"Yeah, exactly," Chi-Chi added.

Krillin still looked confused.

Then he suddenly froze with his chopsticks halfway in the air.

"Wait, what did you just say? Same race? What do you mean?"

Chi-Chi blinked at him. "You didn't notice? They both have tails."

That only confused Krillin even more.

Bulma quickly stepped in to explain.

"You can just think of it as them being from the same place."

Only then did Krillin finally take a proper look at Aeris.

And sure enough, there really was a tail around her waist.

It was just white, and the color matched her clothes, which was why he hadn't noticed it before.

Honestly, even if it hadn't matched, he probably still would've assumed it was some kind of decorative belt. Aeris didn't carry it the same casual way Goku did.

Krillin could only admit that this one was on him.

He really had missed it.

After that little interruption, Krillin stopped asking questions and went right back to eating.

After all, this kind of food wasn't something he normally had the heart to buy for himself.

Once everyone had eaten and drunk their fill…

"Aeris, do you still have any of that thing you gave me last time?"

"I've still got a few pieces. Why?"

Bulma lit up the second she heard that.

After all, that material didn't exist anywhere on Earth. Right now, it was basically a one-of-a-kind resource on the entire planet.

"Can you sell it to me? Name your price, or I'll buy it based on market valuation."

The "valuation" in question, of course, was the estimate Dr. Briefs had made.

"If you want it, I'll just give it to you. That stuff is—"

Before Aeris could finish, Bulma hurriedly cut her off.

"No. That's a separate issue. I'm still paying you for it. My family doesn't lack money in the slightest, but the thing in your hands doesn't exist on Earth. That makes it extremely valuable."

Aeris just shrugged.

"Do whatever you want, then. It's in my room. Go grab it yourself."

Once she heard that, Bulma didn't waste another second.

As far as Aeris was concerned, paying according to their estimate was fine. It wasn't like she believed Bulma would rip her off anyway.

And just like that, Bulma rushed off at full speed.

After chatting with Aeris for a while longer, everyone else eventually left too.

Once the house was empty, Aeris decided it was time to start training again.

It had been a while since she had seriously trained.

So she left a note on the table inside the villa, then flew straight out into space to practice.

After all…

Earth really couldn't survive being used as her training ground anymore.
