Chapter 79 - If You Don't Say It

Scene 1: Anaya's Patience (Almost Gone)

Anaya stared at her screen.

Not reading.

Not working.

Just thinking.

After everything… after that night…

Her eyes shifted—briefly—toward Ayaan.

Calm. Focused. Working.

Like nothing had happened.

Her grip tightened slightly on the pen.

He said it.

Clearly.

And now… nothing?

She leaned back, exhaling slowly.

If he doesn't say anything after work…

A pause.

A very calm thought.

I'm going to kill him.

Then—

a small smile.

Politely.

Scene 2: Ayaan (Still Ayaan)

Across the room—

Ayaan continued working.

Precise.

Composed.

But not unaware.

He had noticed.

The glances.

The silence.

The expectation.

He didn't avoid it.

He was choosing the moment.

As always.

Scene 3: Ishaan & Mahi — Dinner

The restaurant was quiet.

Soft lights.

Low music.

Mahi sat across from Ishaan.

"…This feels different," she said.

Ishaan:

"It's dinner."

Mahi:

"That's not what I meant."

A pause.

He looked at her.

Then—

for once—

didn't deflect.

"…I know."

Silence settled.

But not uncomfortable.

Just… real.

Mahi played with the edge of her glass.

"I almost said something earlier."

Ishaan didn't look away.

"…You can still say it."

Mahi met his gaze.

"I think you already know."

A small pause.

Ishaan nodded.

"…I do."

That was it.

No dramatic confession.

No big moment.

But something settled between them—

clear and steady.

Scene 4: Mountains, Wind & Bad Decisions

Kriti stood near the bike.

"…This is not safe."

Aditya:

"It's a bike."

Kriti:

"Exactly."

Aditya:

"You agreed to this."

Kriti:

"I also agreed to come to this company. That was a mistake too."

Aditya didn't respond.

Just handed her the helmet.

"Get on."

Kriti stared at it.

"…If I die, I'm haunting you."

Aditya:

"You already do."

Kriti:

"That was emotional damage."

She got on the bike.

Carefully.

Very carefully.

"…Don't go fast."

Aditya:

"I won't."

"…Don't lie."

"I'm not."

"…I don't trust you."

"Good."

The bike started.

Wind rushed past.

Kriti immediately grabbed him tightly.

"THIS IS FAST!"

Aditya:

"It's not."

Kriti:

"I CAN FEEL MY SOUL LEAVING!"

Aditya:

"That's your imagination."

Kriti:

"I DON'T HAVE ONE RIGHT NOW!"

Scene 5: A Small, Real Moment

They slowed down near a quiet viewpoint.

Kriti didn't let go immediately.

"…We stopped?"

Aditya:

"Yes."

She opened her eyes slowly.

"…I survived again."

Aditya:

"Barely."

Kriti laughed.

Then realized—

she was still holding him.

Very close.

She let go slowly.

"…I didn't panic that much."

Aditya looked at her.

"…You screamed before we started."

Kriti:

"That was preparation."

A pause.

Then softer—

"…Thanks."

Aditya didn't reply.

But he didn't look away either.

Scene 6: The Moment Anaya Was Waiting For

Back at the office—

evening settled.

People left.

One by one.

Until—

only two remained.

Anaya stood near the window.

Ayaan approached.

No files.

No work.

Just silence.

She didn't turn immediately.

"…You're late."

Ayaan:

"I was waiting."

She turned.

"For what?"

Ayaan stepped closer.

"The right moment."

A pause.

Anaya crossed her arms slightly.

"…You had a whole day."

Ayaan didn't argue.

"No."

A step closer.

"I had time."

Silence.

Then—

calm.

Clear.

"What I said that night…"

Anaya held his gaze.

"…I remember it."

Ayaan:

"So do I."

A pause.

"And I meant it."

No hesitation.

No doubt.

Anaya's expression softened—

just slightly.

"…Good."

A small breath escaped her.

"…Because I was about to do something drastic."

Ayaan almost smiled.

"…Like what?"

Anaya:

"…You don't want to know."

Final Scene

Three places.

Three moments.

Mahi and Ishaan—

quiet understanding.

Kriti and Aditya—

laughter under open sky.

Ayaan and Anaya—

finally saying what needed to be said.

Some things couldn't stay unsaid forever—

and some people wouldn't let them.
