Chapter 26 - Loud Words, Quiet Bonds

Scene 1: Mahi & Anaya – A Deeper Connection

The café was closing early that evening.

Lights dim.

Chairs half-arranged.

And for once—

no rush.

Mahi sat near the window.

Not working.

Just… sitting.

Anaya joined her, placing two cups on the table.

"You need a break," she said.

Mahi looked at her.

"I'm fine."

Anaya raised an eyebrow.

"You say that too easily."

A small silence followed.

Then Mahi spoke quietly,

"When he asked me that…"

She didn't complete the sentence.

Didn't need to.

Anaya leaned back.

"You were going to answer?"

Mahi didn't reply immediately.

"…I don't know."

Scene 2: Trust Builds

Anaya's tone softened.

"You trust him?"

Mahi thought for a moment.

Then—

"Yes."

That answer came naturally.

Anaya smiled slightly.

"Then why hide it?"

Mahi looked down at her hands.

"Because everything changes when people know."

Anaya didn't argue.

Didn't push.

She just said,

"Then we won't let it change."

Mahi looked at her.

"…We?"

Anaya nodded.

"Yes. I'm involved now."

That line—

simple, calm—

meant more than anything dramatic.

Scene 3: Back Home – Tension Still There

At home, the air was not calm.

Kriti was pacing in the living room.

Clearly still angry.

Ayaan walked in.

Calm as always.

Wrong timing.

Kriti stopped.

"You think you're always right."

Straight attack.

Ayaan didn't react immediately.

Then said,

"I don't think. I decide based on facts."

Kriti laughed.

"That's the problem."

Scene 4: The Argument

Kriti stepped closer.

"You don't listen to anyone."

Ayaan:

"I listen. I don't agree easily."

Kriti shook her head.

"You don't trust people."

Ayaan looked at her.

"For a reason."

That line was quiet.

But heavy.

Kriti didn't back down.

"Well, maybe not everyone is lying to you."

Silence.

Scene 5: Ayaan's Final Line

Ayaan spoke slowly,

"Control your tone."

Kriti crossed her arms.

"No."

A pause.

Then—

Ayaan:

"Fine."

That one word meant trouble.

Scene 6: The Punishment

"From tomorrow," Ayaan said calmly,

"you will wake up at 5 AM."

Kriti blinked.

"…Excuse me?"

"Morning routine. Work. No delays."

Kriti stared at him.

"This is illegal."

Ayaan:

"It's effective."

Kriti dropped onto the sofa.

"I refuse."

Ayaan replied without looking at her,

"You won't."

Scene 7: The Next Morning

5:00 AM.

Kriti's worst nightmare.

"Mahi… I'm dying," she whispered.

Mahi, already awake, looked at her.

"You're alive."

Kriti glared.

"Barely."

Scene 8: Funny Breakdown

By afternoon—

Kriti was exhausted.

Tired.

Annoyed.

Completely defeated.

She walked into Ayaan's office.

Stood in front of him.

Silent for five seconds.

Then—

"I apologize."

Ayaan looked up.

"…For what?"

Kriti sighed dramatically.

"For existing loudly."

Ayaan didn't react.

So she continued—

"I also apologize for my tone, my volume, my personality, and my future mistakes."

Ayaan leaned back slightly.

"That covers everything."

Kriti nodded.

"Yes. I'm being efficient."

A small pause.

Then—

Ayaan said,

"Accepted."

Kriti turned to leave.

Then stopped.

"…Can I sleep early today?"

Ayaan:

"Yes."

Kriti walked out.

Muttering,

"Victory."

Ending Scene

That night—

Mahi sat quietly, feeling lighter than before.

Not because her secret was safe—

but because she wasn't alone anymore.

Anaya, somewhere else, smiled slightly while reading Mahi's latest chapter.

A silent support.

And in the same house—

Kriti was already asleep early for the first time in her life.

While Ayaan worked quietly—

as always—

but now, surrounded by people

who were slowly changing his perfectly controlled world.
