Chapter 13 - Small Sparks Bigger Question

The morning at Ayaan's house started like every other day—silent, structured, and perfectly controlled.

Ayaan was already in his formal suit, reviewing documents at the dining table. His presence alone made the room feel like work had already begun.

Kriti walked in late, holding a mug of coffee like it was her only reason for survival.

She looked at him.

He didn't look at her.

That was usually how their mornings started.

But not today.

Scene 1: Kriti's Funny Trouble

Kriti sat down slowly.

"I have a serious complaint," she said.

Ayaan flipped a page.

"Speak."

She leaned forward.

"My office is trying to turn me into a responsible human being."

Ayaan didn't react.

Kriti continued, more dramatic now.

"They gave me another report. A whole report. Like I'm some kind of hardworking employee."

Ayaan finally looked at her.

"You are."

Kriti frowned.

"No. I am a victim."

Silence.

Ayaan went back to reading.

Kriti sighed loudly.

"You know, normal uncles would support me emotionally."

Ayaan replied without looking up.

"Normal nieces would work."

Kriti pointed at him.

"That was personal."

Ayaan calmly said, "Eat your breakfast."

Kriti leaned back.

"You are impossible."

But she was smiling slightly while saying it.

Scene 2: Anaya's Curiosity Grows

Across the city, Anaya sat in the newsroom again.

The interview article was already published, but it wasn't the article itself that interested her now.

It was the man behind it.

She scrolled through Ayaan's past company news, business reports, and leadership profiles.

Her senior passed by.

"You're researching him again?"

Anaya didn't look up.

"I'm just understanding him better."

Her senior raised an eyebrow.

"That's not your job."

Anaya smiled slightly.

"Sometimes the subject is more interesting than the assignment."

She paused on one detail.

Very few personal interviews.

Almost no public emotional statements.

Everything about him was professional.

Controlled.

Carefully maintained.

Her senior leaned closer.

"Don't overthink it. He's just a CEO."

Anaya shook her head lightly.

"People who are 'just' something are usually not just anything."

She closed the file.

But the thought didn't close with it.

Scene 3: Café – Mahi's Second Small Breakthrough

At the café, Mahi was serving orders as usual.

Anaya was sitting at her regular corner table.

The atmosphere was normal until a small incident happened.

A customer accidentally spilled coffee near Mahi's counter.

Before she could react, Mahi quickly handled it—calm, clean, no panic, no disturbance.

Another customer nearby noticed.

"That girl is really careful," he said to his friend.

Anaya overheard it.

She looked at Mahi.

Not loudly impressed.

Just quietly noticing.

But then—

the café manager walked over.

"I heard someone compliment your handling of the situation," he said to Mahi.

Mahi nodded slightly.

"It was nothing."

But the manager continued.

"And also… someone showed me this."

He held up a phone.

On it was a small post shared online.

A short review.

"The café has a staff member who writes beautifully expressive small notes with order messages. Feels like poetry sometimes."

Mahi froze for a fraction of a second.

Anaya saw it.

Not fully understanding, but sensing something unusual.

Mahi quickly lowered her gaze.

"It's probably a misunderstanding."

But the manager smiled.

"Still, people noticed."

That was enough.

Not fame.

Not recognition.

Just awareness.

Someone had started seeing something she never intended to show.

Ending Scene

That night, three different thoughts existed in three different places.

Kriti lay on her bed complaining about work but secretly feeling slightly more capable than yesterday.

Anaya sat in her room, scrolling again through Ayaan's details, feeling like there was more beneath the surface than what she had seen so far.

And Mahi sat quietly at her desk, staring at her laptop screen longer than usual.

Not writing yet.

Just thinking.

Because for the first time, her hidden world was no longer completely hidden.

And somewhere far away…

Ayaan was still unaware that all these small movements were slowly connecting into something larger than any of them expected.
