Jay's POV
3 Years Later
My babies are three years old. They have grown up so fast.
I still remember their first birthday. We booked a grand hall and invited all the big businessmen and everyone close to us.
Kaith and Jace just looked at everyone with curiosity. We also celebrated their birthday at an orphanage.
And now they are three years old, and today is their first day of school.
Kaith is so excited. He brought his Superman bag and is running all over the house.
He is a daddy's boy. He always copies everything Keifer does, always talks like a mature person, and once said,
"Dada, one day I will become just like you and earn so much money so you can rest and don't have to work."
That day, Keifer's eyes filled with tears.
On the other side is our other baby boy, Jace.
He is a mama's boy, stubborn, and very naughty.
He is always playing pranks and treats Keifer like he is his friend instead of his father.
But one thing both my babies always do is...
Whenever Keifer comes home from the office and calls them, they both immediately run toward him, leaving whatever they were doing.
"Dada, how am I looking?" Kaith asked.
Keifer knelt down and fixed his hair.
"As always, handsome," he said.
Kaith kissed his cheek and hugged him.
I was holding Jace because he refused to leave me.
"Baby, wear your shoes," I said.
Kaith started wearing his shoes, and I helped Jace put on his.
Then we all got into the car.
Kaith was sitting on Keifer's lap, pretending to drive, and Jace was sitting on my lap, hugging me.
I kissed his head and caressed his hair.
Soon, we reached the school.
As we got out, I saw Ella and Yuri's car. They came out holding Yumi's and Ellina's hands.
They are both daddy's princesses, and Keifer loves them so much too.
"Titooo!" they both shouted as they hugged Keifer's legs.
Keifer caressed their hair and smiled. Then they both hugged me.
I smiled and kissed their cheeks.
"Yumiii!" Kaith said as he hugged her tightly.
"Ellina!" Jace said as he freed himself from my grip and ran toward her to hug her.
"Oh, you're here too, ugly," Jace said to Yumi.
They both act like enemies and love playing pranks on each other.
Kaith and Ellina act like mature people and treat each other like best friends.
"Now let's go," Ella said.
They all cheered because they were so excited.
I was scared that if Jace couldn't find me, he would start crying.
But I felt relieved when I saw him holding Kaith's and Ellina's hands.
They all started walking while we parents stood there watching them.
Suddenly, Jace stopped walking.
My eyes went wide as he turned around and ran toward me.
"Mama, let's go," he said as he held my hand.
"Baby, they won't allow me inside," I said.
His eyes filled with tears.
"It's okay, ma'am. Since it's his first day, you can go with him," the guard said.
I nodded.
"Keifer, you go. I'll meet you at the office," I said.
He nodded, said goodbye to everyone, and left.
Yuri and Ella also left.
I entered the school holding Jace's and Yumi's hands.
As I entered their classroom, I saw many students already there.
The teacher smiled at me.
"You can sit with them, but once they get distracted, you should leave," she said.
I nodded.
Jace held my dress tightly and sat beside Kaith.
I helped them open their notebooks and arrange everything.
Then they both started writing. They already knew how to hold a pencil and write a little.
Because despite our busy schedules, Keifer and I always taught them every evening.
They both get scared whenever Keifer teaches them because he scolds them sometimes.
I can never do that because they just show me their puppy eyes and run away.
"Wow, Kaith! You write so well," the teacher said.
Kaith looked at me and smiled proudly.
I looked at Jace, who was clapping loudly for his brother with a huge smile on his face.
"Jace, you write too, then everyone will clap for you," I said.
He nodded and started writing while still holding my dress.
After a few minutes, it was game period, and all the students started playing.
Yumi, Ellina, and Kaith also started playing together.
"Baby, you go play too," I said to Jace.
"Okay, Mommy. Don't leave me," he said as he let go of my dress and started playing.
While playing, he kept looking around to make sure I was still there.
I smiled at him.
When he became completely distracted, I quietly stood up and left.
Behind me, I heard his voice.
"Mommyyyyyyyyyy!"
Jace started crying, but the teacher signaled for me to leave.
With a heavy heart, I left.
A few minutes later, I reached the office and went to Keifer's cabin.
"What happened? Why does your face look like that?" Keifer asked.
I told him everything.
He pulled me by my waist and made me sit on his lap.
"Don't worry. He has to learn this. Besides, after an hour we'll go pick them up," he said.
I looked at my watch.
Shit... I really spent half my day at the school.
Since I had a meeting, I went there and started attending it without noticing the time.
When my eyes went to the clock, I realized I was already five minutes late.
I stopped the meeting halfway and ran toward Keifer's cabin.
"Ma'am, sir has an important meeting with international clients," Edrix said.
I nodded and told him to tell Keifer that I had left for the school.
As I reached the school, I ran toward their classroom.
I felt relieved because Ella was already there.
Jace was holding her dress, and his face was covered with dried tears.
"Mamamaa!" Kaith shouted as he ran toward me.
I expected Jace to run to me too, but he didn't.
He just stood there with teary eyes.
I walked over to him and knelt down.
I tried to hold his hand, but he pulled it away and buried his face in Ella's lap.
"He is mad at you," Ella said.
I looked at Jace with guilty eyes.
I picked him up, and he started kicking his legs.
"Leave me... I won't talk to you," he said.
I picked up their bags and held Kaith's hand.
"Thank you, Ella. We're leaving now. I left my meeting halfway," I said.
"Why? You should have just called me," she said.
"Sorry," I said.
I said goodbye to Yumi and Ellina, then left.
I made them sit in the car and drove to an ice cream parlor.
I ordered their favorite ice cream and gave it to them.
Jace pouted but still started eating his ice cream.
I chuckled and drove to the office.
When we reached, I parked the car and wiped their faces.
I held their hands as we walked inside.
As they entered, everyone turned to look at them.
"Hii, Jully Aunty!" Kaith shouted as he ran toward her.
"Uncle Edrix!" Jace shouted, and Edrix picked him up.
I chuckled and told Edrix to take care of them.
Then I went to the meeting room and completed my meeting.
After an hour, I went to Keifer's cabin.
I saw him sitting on the couch with Jace and Kaith in his arms.
They were both telling him everything that had happened at school and how much homework their teacher had given them.
"Don't worry, babies. Mama and I will help you both," Keifer said.
They nodded, and then we all left for home.
As soon as we reached home, the twins ran inside.
"Slow down!" I laughed.
I took them upstairs and helped them change out of their school uniforms into their comfy clothes.
Once they were changed, we went downstairs.
Keifer was already waiting in the living room with two bowls of their favorite snacks.
"Come here, babies," he called.
Both of them happily climbed onto the couch.
Keifer fed them while asking about their first day at school.
Kaith answered every question excitedly, while Jace kept interrupting with his own little stories.
After they finished eating, Keifer smiled.
"Now go and bring your school bags."
"Okay, Dada!" they both shouted before running upstairs.
A few seconds later, they came back carrying their tiny bags.
They placed them in front of Keifer.
"Dada, homework!" Kaith said proudly.
Keifer opened their notebooks and looked through them carefully.
"Very good."
He pulled both of them closer.
"Now watch Dada carefully."
While I was in the kitchen preparing dinner, Keifer patiently taught them how to write each letter properly.
"No, Jace," he said gently. "Hold your pencil like this."
Jace copied him carefully.
"Good boy."
Kaith was writing neatly beside them.
"Dada, look! I finished."
Keifer checked his notebook and smiled proudly.
"Excellent."
Kaith grinned happily.
Jace quickly pushed his notebook toward Keifer.
"Me too!"
Keifer looked at the page.
"You still have one line left."
Jace puffed his cheeks.
"I don't like writing."
"You have to practice," Keifer said, kissing the top of his head.
"You'll become smarter every day."
Jace nodded and finished the last line.
Just then I walked into the living room.
"Dinner is ready!"
"Yay!" the twins cheered.
Keifer checked their homework one last time before closing their notebooks.
"Good job, babies."
The four of us sat together at the dining table.
As always, the twins wanted Keifer to feed them.
He sighed dramatically.
"When will my boys start eating on their own?"
"Never," Jace answered confidently.
We all laughed.
Halfway through dinner, Jace suddenly looked at Keifer.
"Dada..."
"Hmm?"
"Mama left me today."
His little voice became quieter.
"I called her... but she still left."
I looked at him guiltily.
"Baby..."
Before I could explain, Keifer looked at me with a small smile, silently telling me to handle it.
I put my spoon down and gently held Jace's tiny hand.
"Jace..."
"Parents aren't allowed to stay inside the classroom."
He looked at me with watery eyes.
"Really?"
I nodded.
"Yes. If parents stay inside all day..."
I lowered my voice dramatically.
"...then the school monster will come and eat all the parents."
Both boys' eyes became wide.
"Monster?" Kaith whispered.
I nodded seriously.
"So all the mamas and dadas have to wait outside."
Jace quickly hugged my arm.
"I don't want any monster to eat my mama."
I smiled and kissed his forehead.
"Don't worry. Mama is very strong."
"And I promised you something, remember?"
He nodded.
"You promised you'll come to pick me up."
"I always will."
His little smile finally returned.
"Pinky promise?"
I hooked my little finger with his.
"Pinky promise."
Only then did he happily continue eating.
After dinner, I warmed two glasses of milk.
The twins changed into their pajamas before climbing onto the bed.
I fed them their milk while Keifer tucked the blanket around them.
Within minutes, Kaith hugged his Superman toy and fell asleep.
Jace snuggled close to me.
"I love you, Mama."
"I love you too, baby."
He kissed my cheek before closing his eyes.
Soon, both of them were sleeping peacefully.
Keifer carefully picked up Jace while I carried Kaith.
Together, we tucked them into their own little beds.
We stood there quietly, watching our sleeping boys.
"They're growing up so fast," I whispered.
Keifer slipped his hand into mine.
"They'll always be our babies."
I smiled.
We quietly left the room and gently closed the door behind us.
As soon as we entered our bedroom, Keifer wrapped his arms around my waist from behind.
"You've been thinking about Jace all day, haven't you?" he whispered.
I leaned back against his chest.
"I still feel guilty."
He rested his chin on my shoulder.
"You didn't do anything wrong."
"He cried because of me."
"He cried because he loves his mama."
His words made my heart feel lighter.
I turned around to face him.
"You always know what to say."
Keifer smiled softly and tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear.
"That's my job."
I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Thank you... for being such an amazing father."
"And thank you..."
He gently kissed my forehead.
"...for making me a father."
My cheeks turned pink.
"You've become softer after having kids."
"I've always been soft."
I laughed.
"No, you haven't."
"Oh?"
He pulled me closer until there was barely any space between us.
"Then maybe only you can see this side of me."
I smiled before resting my forehead against his.
"I think we're really lucky."
"We are," he replied softly.
"Our family may not be perfect..."
He glanced toward the twins' bedroom.
"...but it's everything I've ever wanted."
I smiled with tears in my eyes.
"So have I."
He gently kissed my forehead once more before pulling me into a warm hug.
We stayed like that for a long time, enjoying the peaceful silence of our home, grateful for the beautiful little family we had built together.
