Chapter 6 - Sleep Walker

"I can't believe you sleep like this." Manchester teased. It was morning and she couldn't understand how she slept off.

"Now for the files you spoke of, I'd like to know about the videos and the whole episode." He said. He sipped his morning green tea. He noticed she wasn't fully awake yet, "I guess you are not an early riser then? Maybe a little one?"

"So—what? So-fucking-what?" She asked.

"Well for a start, I think you should talk about the twin sister whose call you received back then?"

"How did you hear that? Did you sleep here with me?"

"It's my house. Do I need to sleep here with you?" He stood still staring into her eyes waiting for a response before he spoke up again.

"Manchester? I think you need to give me a break." She sat up sideways. She stretched her body while he examined her body movements calmly.

"Nope. Take your time. You've got an hour to get down to me."

"And work? Aren't you stepping out? Soon?" She asked.

"What? What do you mean? I've got all day. It's the special forces, not the special lower forces. I could take a whole month off if I wanted. I'm not common and neither is the tank I sit on." He bragged.

"Proud huh?"

He smiled. "Maybe, maybe not."

"Maybe we can, you know move to the graveyard during the day to complete what we started?" She asked.

"What? No way. Without a backup? Never again. You still have your immunity but that doesn't mean you are safe for or to the public. Show me the videos and the site in general." He walked closer to her bed, he turned her laptop on and filled in the password.

She couldn't act like she was surprised. She knew he saw too much information on her case, "I guess you know the color of my pubic hair?"

He turned to her, he said, "Darling? Can I tell you something?"

"What's that?"

"I know the color of your vagina. It's stuck in my head. I know when your period blood comes as a flowing liquid and when it's clogged up as clots. There's no hidden thing you do around me. These videos look disturbing." He changed the topic at the end.

She sat closer to him not knowing her soft lust filled breasts would touch him closely. He felt it on his arm, he ignored it at first but noticed she didn't move an inch at all. "Are you trying to get touched this morning?"

"Manchester? It's a mistake." She moved away.

Her response caught him off guard. "Why the short and cold words? No love this morning?"

"Not that? I feel like I just started a problem, I know I can't fix it. I betrayed the bloodline and the 717 mafia and it's not funny for me. There are a lot of issues I really ignored to address. It's tearing me up and now a twin sister?" Sarah turned to her phone and saw another text already waiting for her.

"She's non-existent I think, I feel it's a trap. If not, why now? After all these years? Come on. Spare me. So your family dealt with human parts and drugs? Some killed and some used as storage systems? How? What the fuck? Who the fuck moves like this?"

"The Lanco Callista Club. They do drugs. Lanco Industries provides materials for building and construction. The rivers campaign was put up for climate caution and change topics, also they held seminars on them. All these happened in the late 1980's and 1970's. Also I remember the 717 mafia coming into town in the 1950's. That's a serious combination of hidden crime."

"Sarah?" He asked.

"Yeah?"

"Do you have a gun? A weapon?"

"No I don't. Why?"

"With what you just said and with a computer programmer trying to track us, we need to start watching our backs. Right?"

"Of course we do. Manchester?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you have a lover?"

"Lover? Excuse me? Do I look like Cupid? Or wait. Maybe Aphrodite perhaps? I look like Zeus."

"Zeus? Can I be your Hera?"

He stopped and sat still, he turned to her, he stared at her face and right into her eyes. His blue eyes pierced her hazel again, "Pardon? Sarah?"

"Oh so you speak French now?" She teased.

"Sarah. I do have personal boundaries and I don't think I'd like to have anything outside us for now." He said softly.

She stared at him for a moment. "That's fine."

A knock hit the door. He stepped straight to it. He answered the door leaving her in the room. It was Andrew. He walked straight to the room and stood in utter shock. "Her?!"

"Are you serious? Andrew? Behave. It's not what you think?"

Andrew replied, "She's half naked and you are half naked, and now I walked in on both of you being half naked! What then is it? Care to explain? You are locking yourself up for danger. Clifford shouldn't hear of her immunity and furthermore her actual location."

"So we've got a deal right? To keep things down and to keep all our lips shut. Thank you."

"Dude. Come on."

"Andrew she's got some information greedy Clifford wouldn't need us for the moment he finds it. You know him. So there's a laptop filled with information on over four decades of history and deadly traces."

"Deadly traces to who?"

"The 717 mafia."

Andrew could not stand this. He dropped his hands in disbelief. "Excuse me? You don't want to have a single thing with- Oh my God. Now listen to me, Manchester Reed, you don't want to have a thing to do with the 717 mafia for any fucking reason! It's not the best path for us or anyone in between. Don't go there."

"But we already found the warehouse. And guess what we found at the warehouse? Bodies. Dead bodies and drugs, cocaine to be exact. Massive bags and traces of recent killings. Bodies used as storage systems for drugs."

Andrew responded, "And I guess you think the killer isn't near? Maybe? Perhaps?"

"He or she should be."

"Manchester? A woman cannot commit such crimes. It's clearly a fucking psychopath man in this fucking story highlight. In between I've got news. We've got some suspects and we need higher officers on the field. And guess what? She's not allowed to come close." Andrew explained.

"I can't. Tell them I'm sick."

"What? Do you need Clifford matching in here with his squad?"

"We both know he can't do that. He couldn't and wouldn't cross his lines." Manchester uttered firmly.

"Oh wow. Okay then. No problem. And as for the lady. We noticed a lot of cars parked around where her van used to be. And also, aren't you supposed to be dead?"

"Dead? No, I don't think so. I didn't schedule my death for yesterday or today, or even next week to be exact. Did you?" Sarah asked.

Manchester nearly let out a laugh.

Andrew replied, "Oh wow. She's feisty? Oh wow."

"That's an understatement to me, I think she's got some weapons nearby."

Andrew stared at her, surprised at the words flying from Manchester's mouth. He walked closer to her, "Do you have a twin?" He asked.

"I'm not sure." Sarah replied.

"Can I see the videos?" Andrew asked. This time his tone changed. Sarah noticed but Manchester ignored it. She felt like a different person took over. She didn't understand how she could pick up a new voice coming from his throat but she knew it was another personality speaking with her.

"Yeah sure." Sarah agreed.

He sat by her side. Manchester gave them space and he made it look like he had something important to do at that time. He waited for a while watching them before he walked out. He walked back into the room with a few snacks.

From his facial expressions he didn't like the looks of it. He waited for a while before scanning the files.
