Oh my God",I said in shock.
"They've arrived" My dad also said
My dad ran to the door while I stood in the background. He looked at me then I said
"Stop!!!!!",
My dad looked at me with his eye wide open looking like someone who just receives the shock of his life. I know because I know how my scream as always been. It's so loud. It has always been like that since I was an infant. I remembered when I was 6, I screamed so loud that my neighbours thought I was being raped but it was because of one of my Nigerian cousin took my favourite snacks that I kept on the sitting room table.
"Dad,your collar is not well done. Let me help you fix it"I said as I move towards him and fixed his collar
"Now, this is alright" I said and smiled.
My dad opened the door with big smile as he welcomes his fiancee and her son. I did not see their faces clearly until I moved and I saw my ex boyfriend who I dated in seventh grade. He wore a baggy t-shirt and blue jort. He had back hair which was clearly newly made. He looked handsome as always. He smiled when he saw me and I was shocked with my mouth wide opened which made him almost burst into laughter. My sa d looked at my face and noticed how weird I looked. He called my attention and I came back to my senses
"Good morning Miss Stones" I said smiling which kin of looked very fake but she still replied with a smile
"How are you doing"She said with her very London posh British accent. My my dad fiance has a really great pulch British accent which I really like but her son does not. He talks like a street dog I don't even know why I dated him
"I'm fine ma and you" I said cheerfully then her son Kelvin decided to talk and greeted my dad.
"Good morning Mr Davis" he said with an awkward laugh which sounded so forced. There is something I always did not like about that boy, he has always been all about himself, that's why we broke up and now I don't even know how to react because he's going to become my new brother. From ex-boyfriend to my brother, this will be fun this so bad but I'll manage because my dad is happy with his Mother.
My dad noticed the awkwardness in the environment so he said
"Let's go eat my daughter prepared some beautiful meal for us I hope you enjoy it my love and you Kelvin"
"Oh so you cook" Kelvin said
I wanted to slap in him in the face but I held myself because I did not want to cause a scene. We all went to the dining and sat down. I went to the kitchen to bring the chicken and jollof rice with some coleslaw and peppered meat. I sat down with them and my dad said the prayer we do before we eat. We started eating then my dad decided to say something
" So this is your son I've seen him in this house before he usually comes here and I know my daughter knows him and I know he is my daughter's ex and I hope my daughter we accept you as a mother" I felt so bad when my dad said that because it made me feel like I was the one hindering my dad's proposal. Then Kelvin said something
" No worry mom I think we will be the best siblings"he said as as he smelled awkwardly. I don't know maybe it is is voice that annoys me or the way it talks because I can't stand you but I can do it then I said "No worries dad it will be all right you can marry her I know I have to deal with him" I said as I looked at Kelvin "But it will be alright I can manage"
My dad and Mrs Stones smiled at each other and then laughed.
