I woke up the next morning unhappy because today was the first day of school. I was not ready for school both mentally and academically. I stood up from my bed and went to wash my face and brush my teeth. I then went downstairs and I saw my dad preparing coffee.
"Good morning daddy"I greeted him
He smiled at me and I smiled back. I found that he was listening to morning news from his earpods. I went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for myself.
I was preparing a little sandwich and hot chocolate. I made extra two sandwiches for lunch which I will have at school. I also packed some fruits and chicken from yesterday.
After I prepared my lunch, I went to my room and took my bath. I did my skincare and light makeup.I did my hair. After I wore my cloth, I packed my books and lunch into my bag. I left home and took the bus to school.
When I got to school, I saw my best friend Billy. She is a Black American girl. She is slightly taller than me. We have been friends since primary school and we have always been very close since then. She walked with me as we passed through the hallway and all eyes were on us. I kind of knew why I was stared at. My ex was really popular and a small social media influencer. I was very sure he posted our new relationship as a family. I even saw him taking pictures of the food I prepared yesterday.
"Why are you people staring at my bestie" Billy yelled at them with her soft high pitch toned voice. They all stopped looking and faced their business.
"My new sister is in the hallway"I heard a voice from my back and I looked. It was clearly Kelvin.
"Why did you scream all the way from there" I said as he came closer.
"Let us talk he said as he dragged me to a corner in the hallway where no one could see us
"I am following you to your house today because my mom will be there by time school closes for the wedding preparations and don't bring your weird friend there" He then left me alone in the place.
I walk back to the hallway when I crashed into Billy. We went to Chemistry class because that's what we're having first period.When we got there, the teacher was already in class. He warned us not to come late to his class again.

During lunch break, I and Billy sat on the same table with some of our friends. Then Billy said
"What did your new brother say to you"
"Don't tell me you're part of this. He is not even my brother yet and it's even stepbrother"
"Sorry, I hope I did not make you angry"
"No. He said that he'll be following me to my house for the wedding preparations" I said.
"Can I come,pleaseeeeee"She begged me
"He said that I shouldn't invite you. He said he doesn't want you to come" I said trying to be polite.
The bell for fifth period rang and everybody started to rush to their classes.
After school, Kira and Billy were walking home together then Kelvin drove by them and asked Kira to enter.
