Chapter 3 - I Really Want One For All

All Might's Quirk: One For All.

It was a unique power, passed down through generations, stockpiling a near-infinite amount of raw energy. It allowed the user to tap into the absolute peak of human physical potential. In many ways, it functioned similarly to the "Eight Gates" technique—a temporary surge of overwhelming power.

To be honest, Wu Xuan coveted that power.

Because of the nature of his Stand, [The World], he knew that while he lacked the ability to stop time for now, his greatest asset was close-quarters combat. One For All was, without a doubt, the most compatible enhancement he could imagine.

Wu Xuan didn't care about the original protagonist or the "intended" path of the story. Having been dropped into this superhuman society, his primary drive was the pursuit of absolute strength.

But would All Might ever give it to him?

Ever since a catastrophic battle years ago, All Might had been severely injured. He was actively searching for a successor—someone who, like himself, possessed an unshakable yearning to protect the peace.

Wu Xuan was self-aware enough to recognize his own limitations. He wasn't the selfless icon All Might was looking for. If All Might wanted a successor like the legendary, chivalrous heroes of old—pure-hearted and devoted to the people—Wu Xuan was an anomaly. He was more like a rogue cultivator: eccentric, detached, and possessing a streak of cold ruthlessness.

At that moment, Officer Tsukauchi walked up to All Might and lowered his voice. "All Might, this student violated the Quirk Management Law by using his power to attack without authorization. Even though he caught a criminal..."

"A bank robber!" All Might interjected, his smile brightening until it practically glowed. He let out a booming laugh. "Ha ha! You've misunderstood, Tsukauchi-kun! This boy is someone I called in to assist me! I'll take full responsibility for his actions."

Everyone, Wu Xuan included, was momentarily stunned.

It was a blatant cover. All Might was giving both Wu Xuan and the police a graceful way to exit a tense situation. Since the Number One Hero had staked his reputation on it, Tsukauchi and the other officers didn't press the matter.

After a respectful nod, the police loaded the robber into a cruiser and departed. Before the door closed, Tsukauchi stole one last, lingering glance at Wu Xuan.

"All Might!"

"Please, give me your autograph!"

"I've always looked up to you!"

The moment the police cleared out, the street erupted. Half the block rushed toward them, fans and residents alike desperate to get close to their idol.

"Oh dear, this won't do. I have to make a quick exit." All Might was clearly practiced in handling crowds. He scratched the back of his head, crouched low, and prepared to launch. Then, he glanced at Wu Xuan. "Young man, would you like to come along? I'd like to have a word with you."

Having already accepted a significant favor, Wu Xuan remained silent for a heartbeat before nodding. "Fine."

"Right on!" All Might gave a thumbs-up and suddenly rocketed into the air, clearing an astonishing height of fifty meters in a single bound.

"The sheer physical output of this guy is terrifying," Wu Xuan muttered with a soft sigh. He immediately manifested [The World].

Voom!

The Stand's form overlapped with Wu Xuan's body. He kicked off the pavement with explosive force. Boosted by [The World's] strength, Wu Xuan soared into the air. While his leap wasn't as earth-shattering as All Might's, he followed closely behind at a height of over thirty meters, trailing the hero across the skyline.

"Hey! Wait a minute!" Momo Yaoyorozu tried to call out to them, but the two figures vanished over the horizon in seconds.

"So strong... both of them..." the girl murmured to herself. Comparing her own progress to that display of raw power, a shadow of doubt flickered in her eyes. "My Quirk is..."

She shook her head violently, clearing the negative thoughts. No! I can't get discouraged. I need to get home and prepare. The U.A. recommendation exams are next week!

About two miles away, on the roof of a secluded apartment building, Wu Xuan and All Might touched down.

"Not bad, young man! You actually kept up with me!" All Might flashed his signature gleaming teeth and offered another thumbs-up of genuine admiration.

Wu Xuan retracted [The World] and sat casually on the edge of the roof railing. "So? What is it you want to say?"

All Might raised an eyebrow. Usually, he was met with hysterical cheering; it was rare to see a teenager act so indifferent in his presence. He cleared his throat. "Judging by your age, you should be heading into high school soon. Are you already enrolled, or are you preparing for entrance exams?"

"My enrollment has been suspended," Wu Xuan said flatly. "I'm not even sure if I'll be attending high school at this point."

"Oh? And why is that?" All Might asked, his curiosity piqued.

"I beat up a classmate." Wu Xuan looked bored, though a flash of genuine disgust crossed his eyes as he thought of that arrogant, explosive-tempered brat.

All Might's smile twitched. He realized that while this boy was undeniably powerful, he lacked the specific "heroic spirit" required to inherit One For All.

Noticing the shift in All Might's gaze, Wu Xuan realized the legendary power was likely off the table for him. His interest evaporated instantly. He stood up to leave. "If that's all, I'm going."

"Hold on, kid!" All Might raised a hand to stop him. "Have you heard of U.A. High School? It's the premier academy for training the next generation of heroes."

All Might patted his massive chest. "If you're interested, I can personally recommend you for admission!"

Even if the boy wasn't the right fit for his successor, All Might couldn't stand to see such raw potential go to waste. A talent like this deserved to be a Hero.
