Chapter 51 - Cyclizar: Is Your Bro Lizard Awesome or What?

Under the watchful eyes of the Pokémon, Cyclizar's face turned red as it opened its mouth toward the generator.

"Huh?"

Where was the electricity?

Cyclizar scratched its head in confusion. In the past, it only needed to do this to release powerful lightning.

Cinccino waited for a while before tilting its head and asking:

"Chii?"

Can you even do it?

Cyclizar immediately retorted with a red face.

"Gaaao!"

Of course I can! I just haven't used an Electric-type move for a long time.

But… how did it forget how to use Electric-type moves?

No, no—this had to work.

Cyclizar tried hard to recall how it used to control lightning.

After a while, it slowly placed its claw onto the generator.

In the next moment, something inside Cyclizar's body—an organ near its tail—suddenly changed. Blue-violet electricity surged through its body, crackling loudly.

Crackle—crackle!

"Bzzzt!"

"Chii~!"

The sudden burst of electricity startled Cinccino and the others, who quickly backed away.

Only the three Mudbray blinked blankly, looking confused about what everyone was afraid of.

The power had returned!

Even if it was only a little, it was already enough.

Cyclizar's appearance changed slightly. Its skin turned an electric blue, and two lightning-shaped dragon horns formed on its head.

The crackling electricity gathered around Cyclizar's claws and was quickly absorbed by the generator. Through mechanical conversion, it was stored as usable electrical power.

The energy bar on the generator began filling at an astonishing rate.

Cyclizar's lightning was extremely high quality.

1%… 5%… 20%… 55%… 87%… 99%

Soon the energy bar was completely filled, and there was still some electricity left over.

"Gaaao~"

Cyclizar withdrew its lightning, and its body returned to normal. It pointed one claw at the generator and then at itself.

As if to say—

See? Is your bro lizard awesome or what?

Led by Cinccino, the little Pokémon stared at Cyclizar with sparkling eyes full of admiration.

They nodded vigorously, acknowledging Cyclizar's achievement.

Cyclizar clearly enjoyed the praise, raising its tail high in pride.

"What are you all doing here?"

After installing the refrigerator and oven in the kitchen with Kangaskhan's help, Hayato Sora stepped out of the house and noticed all the Pokémon gathered together.

Cinccino climbed onto Mudbray's head and gestured wildly while explaining.

Hayato Sora watched, completely confused.

But when he saw Cyclizar standing there with its head raised—clearly waiting for praise and a pat on the head—he couldn't help but laugh.

Walking over, he patted Cyclizar and asked,

"Alright, you little troublemaker. What did you do this time?"

Cyclizar snorted in dissatisfaction and bit the leg of Hayato Sora's pants.

I'm the God of the Future, not a troublemaker.

And besides, wasn't sending the strawberries your idea, Hayato Sora?

Dragging Cyclizar along, Hayato Sora walked forward and took a look.

Then he exclaimed in surprise.

"The generator is fully charged! Which one of you did this?"

His gaze swept across Cinccino and the others one by one.

If he remembered correctly, Cinccino, Mudbray, and Noibat couldn't learn Electric-type moves by leveling up. Smoliv was even less likely.

"Gaaao!"

Cyclizar jumped up immediately, afraid Hayato Sora wouldn't notice it, eagerly claiming the credit.

Looking at the expressions of the other Pokémon, it seemed Cyclizar was indeed the one responsible.

But this little guy shouldn't be able to learn Electric-type moves either—neither by leveling nor by inheritance.

Could it be from a TM? That wasn't impossible.

Placing his hand on Cyclizar's head, Hayato Sora carefully examined it before saying,

"Cyclizar, can you show me that Electric-type move again?"

"Gaaaoo!"

Seeing Hayato Sora's surprised expression, Cyclizar was eager to show off again.

But no matter how hard it tried—straining with all its strength—it couldn't release even the slightest spark.

"Gaaao… (。・́︿・̀。)✧"

Cyclizar lowered its head in grievance and disappointment.

Maybe… it was just a big idiot.

How could it forget a move it had just used?

Seeing this, Hayato Sora gently comforted it.

"It's okay, little guy. This electricity will last us for quite a long time."

"In the future, I'll make more special dishes for you. I guarantee you'll fully master that Electric-type move."

Since Hayato Sora could make Grass Dumplings that enhanced Grass-type energy and Mud Cake for Ground-types, creating a dish that boosted Electric-type energy wouldn't be difficult.

Once Cyclizar completely mastered the move, the ranch would never run out of electricity again.

He asked Kangaskhan to help move the generator to the back room, where a power line had already been installed.

The Lv.1 Ranch actually came with electrical wiring from the beginning—it just had never been used due to the lack of electricity.

After plugging it in, Hayato Sora entered the house surrounded by the Pokémon.

He flipped the light switch.

The dim living room instantly brightened as dazzling white light filled the space.

The Pokémon gasped in amazement again and again.

Now they wouldn't have to fear the darkness after nightfall.

Hayato Sora also plugged in the refrigerator and oven, placing some perishable ingredients into the freezer compartment.

With a refrigerator now available, they could enjoy cold food to beat the heat when the weather got warmer.

If he had the chance, he could even make jelly and freeze it for the Pokémon to nibble on.

And many foods would no longer spoil easily.

After touring the house, Cinccino climbed onto Hayato Sora's shoulder.

"Chii!"

"You want Sable Cookies?"

"Chii~"

Cinccino acted cute.

This time, Hayato Sora didn't refuse.

"I'll make them tonight. It's also a good chance to test the new oven."

With an oven, he could make many more kinds of food.

The variety of dishes he could cook had expanded greatly—though he'd have to experiment when he had more time.

But for now…

He needed to prepare the dishes for tonight's campfire feast.

He had promised Kangaskhan and the others long ago—he couldn't go back on his word.

Looking around the house, electricity was finally available.

But one thing was still missing—a television.

A TV was expensive. One that could receive Kalos regional channels would cost forty to fifty thousand PokéDollars.

If it could receive signals from all regions, the price would easily double.

Of course, Hayato Sora could settle for a basic model with only a few channels.

But after thinking about it, he gave up that idea.

If he was going to buy one, he might as well buy a good one. A television might accompany him for many years.

For now, he needed to save money.

Once the strawberries, cabbage, and tulips were sold, he would see how many PokéDollars he earned.

Then he could decide whether to buy a TV.

For now, things were fine as they were.

He asked Kangaskhan to take the Pokémon outside to play while he tied on an apron and entered the kitchen to begin preparing the campfire banquet.

The first dish he attempted was the Sable Cookies that had failed last time.

Now that he had an oven, he refused to believe he could fail again.

At the same time, in a high-rise building in Santalune City.

Diantha lay exhausted on her bed.

She had finally finished her filming work.

Tomorrow she would have an entire day off.

She could go visit Hayato Sora's ranch.

She wondered how that guy's preparations were going.
