Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: The Night of Violet Rain

The remaining nine assassins froze. They were elite Spirit Refiners, ghosts of the battlefield, but they couldn't even track Akash's heat signature. He wasn't just moving fast; he was folding the space between the shadows.

"Formation Delta! NOW!" the squad leader roared, his voice cracking with a fear he hadn't felt in decades.

The assassins slammed their palms onto the ground, releasing a 'Mana-Binding Net' made of golden electricity. They intended to paralyze everything in a fifty-foot radius. But as the net expanded, it hit a wall of absolute cold.

[SKILL ACTIVATED: VOID-REFINING ART — ABSOLUTE ZERO]

The golden electricity didn't just stop; it turned into black glass and shattered.

"Looking for me?"

The whisper came from directly behind the squad leader. He spun around, swinging his twin daggers, but he only sliced through thin air. Akash was already above him, descending like a fallen star.

[SKILL ACTIVATED: SOVEREIGN'S EXECUTION]

Akash's blade, The Sovereign's Rebirth, didn't make a sound. It didn't need to. A wave of violet energy, shaped like a guillotine, swept through the room.

SHING!

Four more assassins were erased before they could even scream. Their 'indestructible' dragon-scale armor offered as much protection as wet paper. Akash landed softly, his silver hair streak pulsing with a dark, rhythmic light.

[REWARD: SOVEREIGN'S DOMAIN (5% RADIUS)]

Upstairs, Prince Jaxon was watching through his crystal orb, his face turning a sickly shade of white. He watched his personal elite squad—men who had conquered small kingdoms—being slaughtered like livestock. The crystal orb in his hand cracked, drawing blood from his palm.

"He's... he's a monster," Jaxon whispered, his arrogance finally replaced by pure, raw terror. "That's not Level 2. That's not even human!"

"Five minutes are up, Jaxon," Akash's voice boomed through the megaphone-spell, but it sounded deeper, more ancient.

Akash stepped out onto the roof of the Ghost-Wing, holding the severed black banner of the Royal Death-Squad. Below him, Brutus and the other outcasts emerged from the shadows. Seeing the blood of their oppressors on the floor had awakened the warriors within them.

"The Sovereign is here!" Brutus roared, his voice shaking the foundation of the tower. "Tonight, we stop being ghosts! Tonight, we become the nightmare!"

Akash looked across the Academy grounds, his gaze piercing through the darkness directly into Jaxon's golden palace. He pointed his blood-dripping katana at the Prince.

"You wanted a war, Jaxon. Now you have one. See you in the Arena at dawn. Bring your crown... I'll need something to step on when I take your throne."

[QUEST UPDATED: THE ACADEMY REVOLUTION]

[OBJECTIVE: DEFEAT THE PRINCE IN THE GRAND ARENA]

[BETTING ODDS: AKASH (1:5000) | JAXON (1.1:1)] The declaration hung in the air like a cold, heavy fog. Throughout the golden district of the Academy, elite students stared in disbelief at the smoke rising from the Ghost-Wing. The "beggar" from the lower world hadn't just survived; he had sent a message in blood.

[CURRENT RANK: THE UNSTOPPABLE GLITCH]

[GHOST-WING MORALE: 200% (THEY ARE READY TO DIE FOR YOU)]

Akash didn't stay to enjoy the view. He turned to Brutus, his eyes still glowing with that predatory violet light. "Get the others. We don't just wait for the sun. We train."

"But Akash," Meera stepped forward, her hands glowing with blue Phoenix-fire. "The Grand Arena is different. It's built on ancient gravity-seals. You won't be able to use your full speed there. And Jaxon... he has the Imperial Sun-Shield."

"Let him have his toys, Meera," Akash said, sheathing his katana with a metallic click. "He thinks he's a lion because he's in a golden cage. I'm a wolf that survived the abyss."

[SYSTEM: EMERGENCY INTEL GATHERED]

[JAXON VALERIA HAS ENTERED THE ROYAL FORBIDDEN VAULT]

[HE IS CONSUMING: 'DRAGON-HEART' ELIXIRS]

Master Yun walked up the stairs, his face pale under the moonlight. "Akash, Jaxon is cheating. The King just authorized the use of Forbidden Elixirs to make sure you don't walk out of that Arena alive. By morning, Jaxon will have the strength of a Level 10 Spirit Refiner."

Akash looked at his hands, where the violet veins were slowly receding back into his skin.

"Master, do you remember what the Librarian told me?" Akash asked, his voice a low whisper. "A soul that has already burned to ash doesn't fear the fire. Jaxon can drink all the dragon blood he wants. I have the Sovereign's Bloodline."

[SOVEREIGN'S EXECUTION -> VOID-KING'S JUDGMENT (60% COMPLETE)]

The rest of the night was a blur of steel and shadow. Akash sat in the center of the Ghost-Wing's basement, absorbing the raw, chaotic energy of the outcasts around him. He wasn't just stabilizing his core; he was building a bomb inside his own spirit.

As the first light of dawn touched the spires of the Academy, a massive gong echoed across the sky.

BONG. BONG. BONG.

[TIME REMAINING: 30 MINUTES]

[OBJECTIVE: ENTER THE GRAND ARENA]

Akash stood up. His silver hair streak was now glowing like a beacon. He didn't look tired; he looked inevitable.

"Brutus, keep the Wing safe," Akash commanded. "Meera, Master... watch closely. Today, we don't just win a match. Today, we kill a legend."As Akash stepped out of the Ghost-Wing, a massive crowd had already formed. But they weren't cheering. Tens of thousands of students and citizens of Valeria lined the path to the Grand Arena, throwing insults and stones.

"Die, lower-world trash!" someone screamed.

Akash didn't flinch. A stone hit his shoulder, but it disintegrated into dust before it even touched his skin. The violet aura around him was now so dense it was distorting the light.

[SYSTEM: ARENA ENTRANCE REACHED]

[WARNING: HIGH-LEVEL GRAVITY FIELD DETECTED — 5X NORMAL]

[ESTIMATED AUDIENCE: 100,000+]

The Grand Arena was a massive colosseum made of floating obsidian rocks. In the center stood Jaxon. But he didn't look human anymore. His skin was covered in golden scales, his muscles had doubled in size, and his eyes were glowing with a feral, draconic yellow.

The Dragon-Heart Elixir had turned him into a Level 10 monster.

"Look at him," Jaxon's voice was a guttural growl that shook the stadium. "You came here to take my crown? You can't even stand straight under this gravity, beggar!"

Jaxon slammed his foot down, and the obsidian floor cracked. The gravity shifted again, making everyone in the front row gasp for breath. But Akash? He kept walking, his pace steady, his eyes locked on Jaxon's throat.

[SYSTEM: EVOLUTION COMPLETE]

[NEW ULTIMATE UNLOCKED: VOID-KING'S JUDGMENT]

[COST: 90% OF TOTAL MANA]

Up in the Royal Box, the King of Valeria leaned forward, his eyes narrowing. "That boy... his shadow is swallowing the Arena's light. What did he find in the Ghost-Wing?"

Akash stopped ten feet from the Prince. He slowly reached for the hilt of The Sovereign's Rebirth. The black katana groaned, sensing the "Dragon" in front of it.

"Jaxon," Akash said, his voice quiet but echoing in every ear in the stadium. "You sold your soul for a bottle of blood just to face me. That's the difference between a Prince and a Sovereign."

He unsheathed just an inch of his blade, and a shockwave of pure darkness canceled out the golden light of the Arena.

"The match hasn't started yet," Akash whispered, a cold smile touching his lips. "But you're already dead."
