If he compared his current strength to Homelander's, it wasn't even David versus Goliath. It was ground versus sky.
If he had to choose between the two abilities he would pick Super Strength without hesitation. He already had plenty of physique-type fusions. Strength boosts were rare. Unfortunately that choice didn't exist.
Meeting the fusion condition for Super Strength was far harder than Super Physique, and not by a little. The key words were "completely defeat."
Not just beat Homelander. Completely defeat him. Those two words jacked the difficulty up by more than one full level.
Simply beating Homelander would have been much easier. If Homelander ran away halfway or admitted defeat, that still counted as a win.
The second option wasn't likely, but "completely defeat" meant beating him until he had zero ability to resist left, body and mind both broken.
That difficulty was pure hell.
Ivan rubbed the bridge of his nose, something he rarely did. Looks like he didn't just need to conquer Homelander's body. He needed to conquer the man's mind as well.
Edgar had tried for years and never managed it. Ivan wasn't exactly in a better position.
Forget it.
Better check whether the fusion conditions for the other abilities were any easier.

This ability was hard to rate. Apart from peeping it could actually boost combat power too.
His radio-wave perception had too narrow an audience. It only picked up certain special beings. If the target could block their own brainwaves, or if their brainwaves were no different from a normal person's, he would have no idea where the hell they were.
All in all, X-Ray Vision could at least patch that weakness a little.
Ivan still let out a light sigh. The fusion condition wasn't simple either. Temporarily blind both of Homelander's eyes… permanent blindness might actually be easier.
Homelander had a bio-force field around his body. You needed serious power just to punch through it.
Among The Boys, people with real super strength were rare. Queen Maeve, Black Noir, fully charged Starlight maybe counted, doped-up Butcher, and Homelander's old man Soldier Boy.
The rest of The Seven? Even if Homelander stood still and let them hit him they still couldn't break his defense, let alone poke out his eyes.
"Not bad. Shoot it exactly like you said. When it's time for official filming just contact Ashley and have her notify me."
Homelander set the script down looking satisfied, stood up, and patted Lang on the shoulder.
Then he walked out of Ivan's office.
The second he left, Lang's face twisted into the complicated expression of a man whose wife just ran off with someone else and the kid might not even be his.
Pain mixed with numbness, numbness mixed with resignation, resignation mixed with a faint sadness. If they really revised the entire script to Homelander's demands the whole thing would have to be rewritten from scratch.
God only knew how much money and manpower that would burn.
And that wasn't even the worst part. He was worried the core staff in Planning would snap. Lately their wig-buying frequency had gone way up.

Ivan walked over to the coffee machine, poured in the pre-ground coffee powder, and looked at the final ability on the panel.

[Fusion Condition: Absorb two hundred milliliters of Homelander's blood]
[After fusion the player can fire extremely destructive lasers from the eyes. Duration and power are fully under the player's control.
Note: firing for too long will cause irreversible damage to the eyeballs.
Using Laser Eyes also drains the player's stamina. The stronger the beam, the faster the drain.
Friendly tip: this ability can fuse with Laser Eyes (Blue). After fusion the lasers turn purple and both destructive power and penetration receive a certain boost.]
