"Jane was infected by the Aether in an abandoned warehouse. It's actively draining her life force as we speak. If we don't extract the Aether from her body quickly, she will die," Thor explained rapidly, his face etched with worry.
"You told us before that if Jane ever got sick, we should come to you. So, here we are. And true to your word, you actually possess the ability to heal her!"
Even though Thor felt a distinct, deeply uncomfortable sensation of being "cuckolded"—watching another man intimately hold his girlfriend's hand—he still looked at Su Mu with profound gratitude.
Utilizing the absolute, microscopic energy manipulation of the Six Eyes, Su Mu meticulously began separating the Aether from Jane Foster's cellular structure.
Sensing Su Mu's invasive actions, the Aether instinctively reacted. Volatile fluctuations of cosmic energy flared up, lashing out to attack him. However, because the Aether lacked a conscious host to direct its power, these instinctive, defensive strikes were entirely meaningless. Su Mu effortlessly neutralized the cosmic backlash without breaking a sweat.
Keeping one hand firmly wrapped around Jane's, Su Mu smiled lazily at Thor.
"You definitely came to the right person. Jane's situation is incredibly unique. The Aether has thoroughly fused with her biological vessel. In this state, even Odin would find it nearly impossible to safely extract it from her body without killing her. Perhaps only the Dark Elves, who have studied the Aether for eons, could manage it.
"But of course, I can do it too. I can even repair the cellular damage the cosmic radiation has inflicted on her body, restoring her to absolute baseline health so she doesn't develop a lethal case of cancer in the future!"
"Cancer? Jane would get cancer?!" Thor asked anxiously, his eyes widening.
Su Mu nodded. "The Aether emits an astronomical amount of cosmic radiation. But honestly, rather than worrying about that, I highly suggest you start worrying about Asgard.
"With the Aether's reappearance, the Convergence of the Nine Realms has begun. Naturally, the Dark Elves have awakened from their millennia-long slumber. And what do you think is the very first thing they're going to do upon waking up? Attack their sworn enemies—Asgard!
"Odin is old, and you, the Crown Prince, are currently taking a vacation on Earth. Asgard no longer has anyone capable of going toe-to-toe with a Kurse on the battlefield. I'd say your home is in critical danger right now."
Thor's expression changed drastically. Knowing the bloody history between Asgard and the Dark Elves, he realized the terrifying probability that Su Mu was telling the absolute truth. He immediately looked up at the sky and roared at the top of his lungs:
"Heimdall! Open the Bifrost! Send me back!"
But despite Thor's repeated, desperate shouts, Heimdall remained completely silent. The skies stayed empty.
A profound sense of dread violently gripped Thor's heart. He realized Su Mu wasn't just guessing—Heimdall was absolutely in trouble; otherwise, the Gatekeeper would never ignore his call!
"Damn it! What do I do? Without the Bifrost, I have no way of returning to Asgard!" Thor panicked, pacing the patio. If Asgard fell to the Dark Elves while he was away on Earth, he would drown in eternal regret!
Just as Thor was burning with anxiety and entirely out of options, Su Mu casually placed his free hand heavily onto Thor's shoulder.
The sheer, terrifying physical strength behind the casual grip nearly forced Thor to his knees. It was deeply ironic—this was the exact same dominating, physical gesture Thor loved to subject Loki to! Now, he was on the receiving end.
"I can help you return to Asgard," Su Mu's voice drifted smoothly into his ear. "I can even help you repel the Dark Elves. However, once the dust settles, you will hand over the Casket of Ancient Winters, the Eternal Flame, and the Infinity Gauntlet as my payment."
Overjoyed by the sudden lifeline, Thor agreed without a second thought.
"Done! As long as you help me defeat the Dark Elves, I will gladly give you all three treasures!"
Hearing Thor's enthusiastic agreement, Su Mu chuckled internally.
Odin wasn't dead yet. While the All-Father was old and couldn't casually take to the battlefield, it absolutely didn't mean he was weak. On the contrary, due to the unique physiology of Asgardian royalty, their raw power grew exponentially with age. The moment right before his death would be when Odin was at his absolute, apocalyptic strongest!
The only reason Odin didn't fight was because his aging physical vessel could no longer sustain the unfathomable cosmic energy within him. If Odin was forced to unleash his full power, he would undoubtedly die—but the resulting devastation would be so terrifying that even the Ancient One might not be his match!
Therefore, Su Mu had absolutely no intention of robbing Odin's vault by force. Securing the items through a transaction with the Crown Prince was infinitely easier!
Thor watched Su Mu closely, wondering how the Earthling intended to transport them across the cosmos.
He saw Su Mu simply tap the empty air with his fingers. A circle of brilliant, sparking golden embers instantly flared to life, rapidly expanding into a massive portal! Thor stared in awe. He recognized the gateway from their brief encounter earlier, but what truly shocked him was the scenery on the other side—it was the familiar, crystalline architecture of the Bifrost!
I can't believe this method of teleportation can casually cross the cosmos! Thor thought. And it's so instantaneous! This magic is even more convenient and powerful than the Bifrost itself!
By visualizing scenes from the movies, Su Mu effortlessly opened a portal directly to Asgard. Unlike lower-level portals, a Level 3 Mystic Portal didn't require him to have physically visited the location; a clear visual memory was enough!
Su Mu theorized that when the skill hit Level 4, he wouldn't even need a visual. Simply knowing the target's identity would be enough to open a portal right to them. Once he reached that level, he could effortlessly track down William Stryker and crush the pathetic insect!
Stepping through the portal while still holding Jane Foster's hand, Su Mu officially entered Asgard!
The realm of the gods was completely engulfed in the flames of war. Hideous, black-armored Dark Elves and riotous prisoners freed from the dungeons were ravaging the golden city, clashing violently with Asgardian warriors!
At the end of the rainbow bridge, the Gatekeeper, Heimdall, was currently surrounded and fiercely battling over a dozen elite Dark Elves. It perfectly explained why he had been too overwhelmed to answer Thor's call.
The sudden manifestation of the sparking golden portal instantly drew the attention of everyone on the bridge. The combatants paused, tense, unsure if the arrivals were friend or foe.
Seeing the white-haired Su Mu and the mortal Jane step out first, the Asgardians were bewildered. They had absolutely no idea who this powerful-looking stranger was.
But when Thor stepped out right behind them, grasping Mjolnir, the Asgardian warriors erupted into deafening, morale-boosting roars:
"Thor! Thor! Thor!"
Conversely, the Dark Elves immediately panicked. The God of Thunder had waged bloody war across the Nine Realms for millennia; his name was synonymous with terror to his enemies. Seeing him return meant the Asgardians had just gained an apocalyptic combatant!
At that moment, a massive, towering Dark Elf—a Kurse—stepped out from the enemy ranks and charged violently at Thor!
(Author's Note: The Cursed Warrior / Kurse)
Faced with the direct provocation, the hot-tempered Thor naturally didn't back down. With a mighty battle cry, he charged forward to meet the beast!
But the exact microsecond they clashed... Thor, the undefeated champion of Asgard, was violently punched backward by a single, devastating strike! He tumbled across the crystalline bridge, completely overwhelmed by the Kurse's raw physical might!
Having swatted Thor away like a fly, the Kurse spat heavily onto the pristine bridge in the direction of Su Mu and Jane.
He made a vicious, throat-slitting gesture and roared arrogantly:
"The so-called God of Thunder, accompanied by two cowardly mortals from Midgard! You are nothing but pathetic insects!"
Behind him, the morale of the Dark Elves skyrocketed to absolute heights. They chanted wildly:
"Kurse! Kurse! Kurse!"
Seeing this scene unfold, Su Mu flashed the towering Kurse an incredibly warm, deeply friendly smile.
In his free hand, terrifying black-red lightning began to violently erupt!
