While Su Mu was relaxing in his luxurious Malibu mega-mansion, enjoying the impeccable services of Hollywood actresses and the shape-shifting Mystique, several figures materialized on a desolate stretch of desert halfway across the country.
The man leading them wore a crimson uniform and a distinctive, imposing metal helmet. He levitated a few feet off the ground, manipulating the magnetic fields to carry himself and a massive chunk of metal debris.
It was Magneto—the leader of the Brotherhood of Mutants, one of the most powerful mutants alive, and the most wanted fugitive on the planet.
Looking at the apocalyptic landscape before him, Magneto's expression was incredibly complex. The desert looked exactly as if it had been carpet-bombed by multiple nuclear warheads. Nothing but fused glass and bottomless craters remained.
He had rushed here to stop Professor X from making a terrible mistake. He wanted to prevent Charles from trying to execute the White Demon, hoping to steer the escalating situation into an all-out mutant revolution.
But upon arriving, he realized the battle was already over.
Judging by the sheer scale of the devastation and the scattered remnants of frozen blood and pulverized flesh, the outcome was terrifyingly clear: the X-Men hadn't just lost; they had been absolutely, utterly annihilated.
This hadn't been a battle. It was a one-sided slaughter. The White Demon had completely eradicated the Sentinel armada and the elite X-Men without breaking a sweat.
Analyzing the residual cosmic energy signatures, Magneto deduced that out of everyone present, only Jean Grey—having fully awakened the Phoenix Force—had possessed the raw power to even briefly clash with the White Demon. Yet, the traces of her apocalyptic cosmic fire were abruptly snuffed out, indicating she had also been swiftly and permanently executed.
The White Demon was fundamentally more terrifying than Magneto had ever imagined. Even the absolute, planet-killing might of the Phoenix Host couldn't stop him.
Given the absolute devastation, there was zero doubt in Magneto's mind: the vast majority of the X-Men were dead. And that undoubtedly included his oldest, dearest friend... Charles Xavier.
This realization left a bitter, suffocating knot in Magneto's chest.
He and Charles had shared a bond that spanned decades. From their early days teaming up to stop Sebastian Shaw's nuclear holocaust, to their ideological split and countless battles against one another. They had fought on opposite sides of a philosophical war, but neither had ever truly harbored the intention to murder the other.
In a lonely, hostile world, they were effectively family.
And now, Charles was dead. And he had died foolishly, trying to protect the very humans who were actively building machines to exterminate their race.
If Charles had been murdered by ordinary humans or a government strike team, Magneto would not have hesitated. He would have immediately launched an apocalyptic war of vengeance, raining magnetic hellfire upon humanity until the oceans boiled.
He would have avenged his friend without a second thought.
But Charles hadn't been killed by humans. He had been executed by the White Demon.
And that presented an insurmountable problem.
The White Demon's absolute power completely eclipsed every other mutant on the planet. He existed on an entirely different dimensional tier.
If Magneto rallied the Brotherhood to seek vengeance for Charles... the absolute, terrifying reality was that the Brotherhood would simply end up as another smear of blood and pulverized bone in the desert.
Magneto lowered his head, the metal of his helmet casting a dark shadow over his eyes.
"I'm sorry, Charles..." Magneto whispered into the howling desert wind. "But I cannot gamble the future of the entire Brotherhood—the future of the mutant race—just to avenge your foolishness."
He had to protect the mutants who were still alive.
...
Meanwhile, Su Mu entered a period of relatively peaceful, uninterrupted leisure. During this time, his absolute strength continued to climb steadily.
His physical vessel completely recovered from the strain of absorbing the Eternal's cosmic core. Having fully regenerated his cursed energy pathways, he extracted the Mind Stone and the Space Stone from his pocket dimension and resumed his absorption cycles.
Fueled by the infinite, pure cosmic output of two Infinity Stones, his progression with the Accelerator template skyrocketed!
[Template Synchronization: 8%]
Based on his comprehensive knowledge of Accelerator's ability set, Su Mu theorized that hitting the 10% milestone would unlock a brand-new application of Vector Manipulation!
One sunny afternoon, Su Mu was lounging in the infinity pool of his cliffside mansion, enjoying the ocean breeze and doing some "strenuous physical exercise" with the Hollywood actresses, while simultaneously grinding his skills.
The heavenly chimes rang endlessly in his mind:
[System Notification: Energy Point +1]
[System Notification: Six Eyes EXP +1]
[System Notification: Mystic Portal EXP +1]
[System Notification: Energy Absorption EXP +1]
...
A few moments later, a different chime echoed!
[System Notification: Mystic Portal EXP +1]
[System Notification: Congratulations, Skill 'Mystic Portal' has leveled up!]
[Mystic Portal Lv.3 (1/1000): Consumes magical/cursed energy to open a portal to absolute ANY coordinates within the user's current dimension/universe. The user has transcended the need for physical gestures!]
Naturally, lower-level skills required significantly less experience to level up than his core abilities like Energy Absorption or the Six Eyes. Therefore, even though he was prioritizing his absolute combat skills, his Level 2 Mystic Portal was the first to cross the threshold!
The moment the skill hit Level 3, a surge of advanced spatial magic comprehension flooded his consciousness, which he instantly and effortlessly assimilated. The data-load for a Level 3 skill placed absolutely zero strain on his Level 4 Six Eyes.
Having digested the knowledge, Su Mu understood the absolute, terrifying utility he had just unlocked.
He no longer needed to perform the circular hand gestures required by Kamar-Taj sorcerers. He could simply open a portal with a single thought! Furthermore, he could now simultaneously manifest multiple portals at once, and the maximum diameter of the gateways had exponentially increased!
Most importantly: the absolute restriction of only traveling to "previously visited locations" had been entirely removed! He could now instantaneously step to any corner of the universe!
This newfound absolute mobility suddenly piqued his interest in a certain group of cosmic misfits: the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Based on the current MCU timeline, Peter Quill (Star-Lord) should be making his move to steal the Orb containing the Power Stone very soon.
Once Jane Foster finally delivered the Reality Stone to Earth, Su Mu could simply pop open a portal to Morag or Xandar and casually snatch the Power Stone. That would give him four out of the six Infinity Stones!
He would only be missing the Time Stone and the Soul Stone.
Just as Su Mu was mentally plotting how to effortlessly rob the Sorcerer Supreme of the Time Stone, and debating whether he actually cared enough about anyone to sacrifice them on Vormir for the Soul Stone... the absolute perception of his Six Eyes detected several individuals approaching his property.
Su Mu grinned, taking a leisurely sip of his expensive red wine. He didn't move, simply waiting for them.
A few moments later, the mansion's doorbell rang.
It seemed HYDRA had actually learned from Crossbones' horrific execution. This time, they were being remarkably polite.
He commanded JARVIS (whom he had conveniently 'borrowed' along with Tony's servers) to unlock the front gates. Several men in immaculate, tailored suits walked into the mansion, stepping out onto the patio surrounding the infinity pool.
The man leading the group was someone Su Mu recognized perfectly: Jasper Sitwell, a high-ranking SHIELD agent and a deeply entrenched HYDRA operative.
Approaching the pool, Sitwell stopped at a respectful distance and bowed deeply.
"Honorable Mr. Su Mu," Sitwell began, his voice impeccably professional. "I am here representing HYDRA. We have brought the item you requested: the Obelisk. We humbly offer it as a gift, with the sole, desperate hope that you will not interfere with our upcoming operations.
"Naturally, once our grand design is successfully executed and global order is established, we have prepared an even greater, unprecedented reward for you!"
With the White Demon's power having reached an absolute, apocalyptic level—casually destroying military bases and executing extraterrestrial armadas—HYDRA no longer harbored the delusion that they could control him or ally with him. They didn't even dare to ask for the Tesseract anymore.
Their only goal now was to desperately beg him to stay out of their way.
Of course, Alexander Pierce still harbored a tiny, microscopic sliver of hope that the alien Obelisk would petrify the demon upon contact. But realistically, Pierce didn't expect a mere artifact to kill a god.
Su Mu casually floated out of the pool. He reached into the sleek, high-tech containment case Sitwell was holding and pulled out the alien Obelisk.
The exact microsecond his bare skin touched the metal, a surge of lethal, petrifying alien energy attempted to violently invade his cellular structure. But before it could even begin the calcification process, his Level 4 Energy Absorption instantaneously locked onto the energy signature, completely neutralizing and devouring the lethal effect!
Well, it doesn't do much for me in terms of raw power, Su Mu noted, but the energy signature is highly unique. I'm sure I can find some entertaining uses for it.
Tossing the Obelisk into his pocket dimension, Su Mu finally turned his gaze to Jasper Sitwell.
Through the Six Eyes, he could clearly see the man's heart rate spiking to terrifying levels, his body actively suppressing the absolute, primal terror of standing before a walking extinction event.
Su Mu flashed a brilliant, genuinely friendly smile.
"Relax, Agent Sitwell," Su Mu said warmly. "You politely knocked on the door this time. I'm not going to kill you."
Sitwell let out a massive, trembling breath, a wave of absolute, profound relief washing over him. Thank God...
But in the very next microsecond, the four HYDRA agents standing silently behind Sitwell instantaneously and violently exploded into a fine mist of blood and pulverized bone!
The crimson gore violently splattered all over Sitwell's immaculate suit, completely painting his face and glasses a horrific, sticky red!
Frozen in absolute, paralyzing horror, Sitwell heard the White Demon's lazy, mocking whisper echo right next to his ear.
"Such a pity. They didn't knock."
