In the weeks following Suga and y/n's breakup, y/n began to heal gradually.
The members often came to see her while she was working. She made time to go to the studio but stayed away from Suga when he was present.
Y/n attended the premiere of Taehyung's acting project and supported him from the audience.
To keep their relationship hidden, Namjoon and y/n began having mini-dates so that none of the other members would find out they were together.
Jin was busy filming music videos for his songs from his new upcoming album.
J-Hope took on the role of choreographer assistant for y/n's dance team.
Jungkook started going to karaoke with Jimin to unwind after a terrible experience with the sasaengs whenever he went out.
"Hey y/n, are you really not going to tell the others that we're together?" Namjoon asked, holding her hand as they walked to the playground. "Do you actually want to? I prefer keeping it a secret. Plus, it doesn't affect your relationship with your fans," y/n replied, holding Namjoon's hand. "That's true, but what if we get discovered? Like that time on the school rooftop, what if—" Namjoon rambled before being interrupted by y/n.
She stopped, turned to him, held his face, and kissed him, making a lasting impression. Namjoon, blushing red, melted into the kiss, returning her affection.
After about 5 minutes, they pulled away, both of their faces bright red.
They continued walking until they reached the 7-Eleven. Since it was y/n's last shift there, they planned a mini party to celebrate.
Namjoon dropped her off, and just before leaving, he noticed someone he recognized in the store.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" Namjoon asked the stranger. "I'm sorry, do I know you? You're mistaken. Please leave me alone," the stranger replied. "You really don't remember me? Does it jog your memory about being the 'fake fan' from that audio clip leaked a month ago on a Sunday? Does that ring a bell?" Namjoon said with a smirk.
The stranger froze and slowly turned around, facing Namjoon.
"Namjoon? Are you here to blackmail me or something? I did what I had to for Taehyung. Now, can you excuse me? I have places to be," the 'fake fan' said as she turned to the cash register, but Namjoon stopped her.
"You're not getting away that easily, Ra-hee. There's something important I need to tell you before you leave," Namjoon said. "Whatever you have to say, I don't have time for it; just go away," Ra-hee attempted to find a way to escape from Namjoon, but it was impossible.
"I'm back together with y/n, so you need to keep quiet about your meeting with Taehyung and the money he gave you, or I'll inform my girlfriend that you were the one who secretly recorded that conversation and shared it with Taehyung, who then sent me the file. Plus, I have that file saved on a USB. Blackmailing can be risky, but in our case, we act like the victims; you're the one putting yourself at risk here. So pick wisely, Ra-hee."
Ra-hee indicated to Namjoon that she would keep this a secret by envisioning her mouth shut. She turned back, walked to the cash register to make her payment, and hurried as quickly as possible.
Namjoon looked over to where y/n was chatting casually with her coworker.
"Why does it have to be him of all days? Why can't it be a woman instead of that guy?" Namjoon considered observing y/n from a distance.
They decided to close the 7-Eleven early for y/n's farewell party. They were having a good time on the store's rooftop, enjoying food and laughter.
"Hey, y/n, can I have a word with you?" "Of course."
Y/n and the male coworker moved to a quieter area away from the group.
"What did you want to discuss?" "Well, how do I say this? Please don't go. Just kidding. But seriously, I can't believe you're really leaving." "Harsh, I suppose. But with some customer service experience and a little cash, I enjoyed working with you and everyone else. Sure, I made plenty of mistakes, but over time, I learned to manage it like a pro."
"As a friend, can I keep in touch with you? If that's okay." "Sure, but I need to be careful because I have a jealous boyfriend." "Jealous boyfriend? You mean that guy who kept staring at me? I think his name is Namjoon." "Yes, Namjoon. Don't worry, I'll talk to him about it."
"That's great! By the way, before we wrap up this chat, if you're going to POSTECH, you might just run into me there." "Wait, did you mention POSTECH? I'm actually planning to go there for my materials science major. I have a tour scheduled for next week." "That's fantastic; see you next year, colleague." "Thanks, I hope to see you too, Ju-won."
Y/n and Ju-won concluded their short talk and returned to join the others for the last time.
Jin, who was waiting for y/n to arrive, felt anxious at any moment. They were meant to celebrate her birthday together, but due to what happened that day, they couldn't. To make it right, Jin invited her to his studio apartment for a surprise.
When there was a knock on the door, Jin went to the peephole and saw y/n outside. He opened the door and welcomed y/n in.
"Looks like you brought leftover cake from your farewell party. Are you feeling down?" Jin asked as he helped y/n place the cake down. "Yeah, and it's a huge slice. I could eat it all, but there's too much frosting. But sharing is caring, right?" y/n replied, settling down on the floor with a pillow.
Jin brought the food he had prepared earlier and placed it on the table where y/n was sitting.
Y/n and Jin were side by side, chatting and enjoying themselves. As the best friend he is, Jin cooked y/n's favorite meals, including a special secret dish known only to him.
Jin told y/n to stay put; y/n nodded, looking confused.
Jin got up from the floor and went to his room to get y/n's birthday present.
Y/n noticed a message from Namjoon and quickly replied before Jin returned.
Jin came out of his room, softly singing the "Happy Birthday" song while holding y/n's gift, and started walking towards her.
"Happy belated birthday y/n! I hope you enjoy the gift I got for you," Jin said as he handed the present to y/n. "Awe, Jin, you really didn't have to," y/n replied with a playful grin. "Come on, don't say that! Have you forgotten I'm your best friend? I wouldn't mind giving you gifts for every birthday that comes up," Jin said with a light laugh.
Y/n placed the gift on the floor and began to unwrap it.
"Jin, wait, there's no way you got me this!" "Well, isn't it something you've always wanted?"
Jin had given y/n a special BTS lightstick, several gift cards, a unique hoodie from that super popular store where things sell out quickly, and the complete set of horror books she loves so much.
