Chapter 21 - Doggy Daycare Fun!

Now back to the present, Lukas was trying to sneak out of station #14, with the help of Ethan. It wasn't like he was trapped in there or anything, he just didn't want people to know where he was going.

He opened up his bedroom window, and hopped out. Ethan closed it behind him; and gave a thumbs up.

Lukas was so excited to go to this place that he'd seen on his way back with Ethan and Drew from doing fuck all. The place instantly caught his vision. He thought that it looked so goddamn cool in his eye. That he just had to come back and take a little visit. He was so excited, to the point of not looking where he was going, and tripping on a rock. He flopped onto the ground; getting some dirt in his mouth in the process. He got up, and spat out the dirt, and then looked down to see that his new clothes were all dirty.

Fuck! No! My brand new sweater is ruined! He screamed in his own mind, and then wiped off the dirt the best he could.

He looked up to see the beautiful mid-day sky. The feeling of the rays, basking him in an enlightening aura, filled him with a sort of joy nothing else could have.

He looked around to see if anyone he knew was around, and it seemed like the coast was clear. He inched his way towards the sidewalk, and watched as two rats were trying to get their friends out of a rat king. Lukas sort of felt bad for them, but after the glare they all shot at him, he couldn't care less.

Once he made it to the sidewalk, he took a hard pivot to the right. He was trying to speed walk his way there.

While Lukas was strutting his way there, he witnessed some random old guy beg for some sugar to some random office lady. Lukas thought that that guy was really freaked out. He didn't stay for long though; he had somewhere to be. Luckily, that place was only a block away. So after 10-ish minutes of walking, he made it safe and sound. He looked up at the sign that was placed right above the entrance. It read: Doggy's Disastrous Daycare in big cloud-shaped letters.

Oh my god! This place looks so cool!! Lukas thought while making it over to the front door.

He steps in to see a rainbow mural with the words: I love it here!!! With a dog right under it. On the other side, there was another mural with a bunch of different dog breeds; cuddling together. Lukas was seeming to love this place more and more as he looked around.

"Hello sir!" someone at the receptionist area speaks up. "Are you here to pick up your dog?"

"Um… I was wondering… if I could maybe… play with the dogs?" Lukas whispered.

"Oh! Yes sir you can! Lemme just take you to the backyard real quick!" the receptionist motions him to come with her. In which Lukas happily obliges. "There should be someone on standby with you, If that's okay?" Lukas nods his head in approval.

Once they make it outside, Lukas starts to beam with joy at his wonderful sight. There were 50-100 dogs running around. They all looked like puppies to his point of view. The backyard was massive; and there were a bunch of different toys and play things, all lying around. At the center of all of that was this 18 year old blonde girl, with sparkly blue eyes. It honestly reminded him of Ethan. She was getting swarmed by the puppies, and she was giggling like a little girl.

Lukas points to her and asks: "who is that?"

"That's Ms. Evans. She's been working here for a little while as the dog watcher. Honestly , I get pretty jealous of her job once in a while; but no hard feelings" the receptionist explained. "Alrighty then, get in there and have fun!" She pushed him towards the little doggy gate. Which he hops over with ease.

Ms. Evans looks up to see that the long haired guy with one eye has made it into the backyard. Her body tenses up a bit; not knowing whether or not he might murder her and all the dogs.

Lukas thought that the girl in front of him was really pretty. He was never going to say it to her face though. He gave her a nervous wave, and she returned it. Then, one of the dogs named Bernard, went up to him and started humping Lukas' leg. Ms. Evans was horrified, she ran over and grabbed Bernard off of Lukas' leg. "Oh my go I'm so sorry!" she apologized while still holding Bernard.

Lukas responds by petting Bernard's head.

"Hey. Quick tip. You're supposed to scratch their chins, not their heads. Like this!" She gives Lukas a little demonstration. "See how happy that makes him!"

"Wow!" Lukas was so geeked out right then and there. This was probably the best day ever for him.

Lukas looked up, and started staring at her for a minute. He didn't even know why, he just felt compelled to. Ms. Evans notices and asks him: "um, you okay mister?" while raising an eyebrow. Lukas' face turns red as he realises that she noticed. He backs away a little bit and waves both of his arms.

"S-sorry, didn't mean to!" Lukas whispers.

Lukas looks down and closes his eyes, ready for her to call him a creep. Something completely different happens though. Lukas starts to hear a faint chuckle coming from her. He was confused about what was happening. Then that chuckle turned into her laughing at him. He looked up, surprised at what was going on. He didn't even know what she was laughing about; but he decided to go along with it anyway.

"Oh n-no! Don't even worry about it!" She says whilst smiling and wheezing. "You're okay man!"

Just then, another dog came up to both of them, and started clawing at them. Another one came, and then another, and then another. Until they were surrounded on all sides. Lukas got pushed to the ground, and started getting licked to death by all the dogs. Ms. Evens also falls down, and starts playing with the puppies again. They were both laughing and having a good time. There was one problem though, at the time, they were both thinking about how they remember the other from somewhere. They just didn't know where.

The receptionist watched as this all went down from behind the door. She was so happy watching the two, that she forgot about the other customer, waiting inside.
