Chapter 1 - System Is Here

"Come on, George! You must survive this."

A silver glow appeared on the edge of his sword, creating an arc in mid-air as it clashed against the limb of a large creature.

The man holding the sword was nearly eighteen years old. His face was gasping for air as he tried to put more strength into his arms.

But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't even shake that limb.

"Am I going to die here? At the legs of an ant?"

George felt like his life was a large comedy. He, who was reborn in a fantasy world with the destiny of a protagonist, was going to die here.

And, the creature responsible for killing him was an ant.

A literal ant that grew to the size of a large study table.

"Not here, damn it!"

George bit his lips, forcefully shaking off those negative thoughts as he kicked the ant's head and jumped back.

But his kick wasn't enough to send the ant flying. Instead, it blocked the kick and ran towards him.

Its speed was several times higher than his.

"Come on! Let's do this! One more time!"

George tried screaming, trying to give off protagonist energy as he gripped the sword hilt with both hands and swung it diagonally.

Clang!

His sword and the ant's leg collided in the middle, creating a small fissure of shockwave.

Suddenly, another leg approached George, and before he could react, he felt a strong strike on his gut.

Cough! Bang!

His body arched before it flew towards the wall behind him.

Thud! Ding!

He fell to the ground, and the sword dropped from his palm.

Screech!

The ant let out a loud sound before it traveled several meters in less than a second and struck him on the head.

But a strong and violent green glow appeared from his neck, turning into a powerful shockwave that blasted towards the ant's leg.

Thud!

The ant that felt impossible to defeat was flung back by the sheer power of that shockwave. It crashed on the other side of the room, but it didn't die.

"Haa! Haa!"

George gasped for breath as he tightly held the necklace and a small green crystal.

"Yelena, was that you?"

He murmured.

The face of a girl with pale skin, a cold look, and sexy legs appeared in his mind.

If there was one word to describe that girl, it would be Queen.

She was born with the greatness of a leader, managing one of the biggest companies in the air after she lost her parents at the age of twelve.

It was also at that time that they met for the first time.

She was a lost girl while he was a mature boy. Seeing the crying girl, he tried to make her laugh, using different methods.

At that time, he didn't know her, nor did she know him.

Being an adult in mind, he was just trying to make her laugh. Who knew she would turn out to be the heiress of the Golden Spirit Company?

The Golden Spirit Company was responsible for creating almost eighty percent of all equipment and weapons around the world.

Even the sword in his hand came from her. That's why, despite facing this Ant Lord who was several times stronger than him, it hadn't been broken.

George didn't need to take this step, challenge a double-stage dungeon at this stage.

But he always believed he was a protagonist. After all, nobody else would remember the memories from their past life, right?

Unfortunately, he didn't have a system, an old grandfather inside a ring, or an incredible treasure in his mind.

He was just a normal kid who awakened a normal power in an abnormal world. More importantly, he managed to get a girl as good as Yelena.

Originally, he thought that without proper cheats and an exciting life, she would quickly forget him.

That didn't go so well.

Not only did she not forget him, but she also exposed him to the world.

Being a boyfriend of the world's most successful teenager wasn't easy, especially when everything about him spelled 'normal'.

That's why he challenged this double-stage dungeon. He remembered one of the protagonists from his past life getting an inheritance from a double-stage dungeon.

Unfortunately, he wasn't someone clinging to life despite facing death many times. So, there was no inheritance, no test, just an Ant Lord with incredible strength.

So, this was his current situation.

Taking a risk, thinking he was a protagonist, only to fail miserably.

"Even now, you are saving me, Yelena! I must survive this. I can't die here."

He gripped his sword tightly and stood up.

He wasn't a normal person. He raised his sword and looked at the ant.

"I won't die here. I am the man born with the destiny of the protagonist."

Haa!

[Eagle Speed Form]

His body dashed. Although not exactly as fast as the Ant Lord, he was able to cover several hundred meters in just a few seconds.

He quickly reached in front of the Ant Lord and swung his sword vertically, trying to split its head.

[Silver Sword Flow]

The silver light appeared on the edge of his sword, creating a powerful arc.

The Ant Lord sensed the danger coming to its neck, but it didn't care. It was faster, stronger, and more durable than the human in front of it.

Instead, it was observing the crystal on George's necklace, trying to make sure it wouldn't attack him again.

Sensing that it wasn't attacking him, the ant quickly flickered its legs and slapped George on his wrist, weakening his grip.

Then, it attacked his stomach once more. Once again, it thrust its leg forward, and this time, its leg was covered in red energy.

It was fiery and hot. When it approached George, the crystal suddenly glowed brightly before releasing another shockwave.

This time, the ant Lord was prepared. It quickly pulled back its leg and jumped away, dodging the shockwave on time.

Bang! Thud!

Unfortunately, George was already attacked. His head crashed against the wall and started bleeding.

He felt his gaze blurring, realizing that he didn't have much strength to even move.

He tried to gather energy to revitalize his body, but the remaining reserve was too low.

Even so, he used it to speed up his healing while he slowly gathered some strength and stood up.

This time, he didn't attack immediately. Instead, he took out a bottle with purple liquid and drank it.

In an instant, the pool of energy inside his body started filling up.

'This is the last bottle.'

He looked at his pouch and sighed.

These bottles had helped him stay in this battle for a long time, but he hadn't brought enough.

Whoosh!

His eyes shrank rapidly as he noticed the Ant Lord approaching him. Before he could react, the Ant Lord caught him by his leg and slammed him against the wall.

For some reason, the crystal didn't react.

The Ant Lord paused only for a second before it figured out a way to bypass the power of the crystal.

It continued to grab him by the leg and slammed his body on the ground, left and right.

The wounds started growing bigger, he started losing more blood, and several of his bones started breaking apart.

'Am I dying just like this?'

Just when he thought he was going to die, the green crystal on his neck suddenly glowed with a bright green energy.

The Ant Lord's grip on his leg dropped as it ran back as fast as it could.

Boom!

The green energy released such a massive shockwave that it literally shook the entire room.

But at the same time, it also released a flow of green energy that covered George's body and started repairing his wounds.

Unfortunately, George wasn't focused on this.

Instead, his eyes were on something else.

A screen!

A System Screen!

The ecstasy almost overflowed his heart before tears started falling down his cheeks. Only one thought remained in his mind.

'I am indeed the protagonist.'

But before he wiped his tears, he noticed something strange. There were text messages on the screen, several of them from the same username.

[George Roku- Dude, who the hell are you? Why do you look the same as me? No wait, you are me?]

[George Roku- Hmm! This feels like a chat box, and it feels like a livestream. Dude, are you fighting an Ant? Does this ant have three years of gym membership?]

[George Roku- Wow! You also got God's treatment. Left, right, left, right, left, right, wait, this… are you dying?]

[George Roku- Wait, wait, dude, you are dying. Don't die here! I have so many questions. Don't tell me I am going to watch someone who looks just like me die?]

[George Roku- Whoa! What was that? That green explosion. Dude! It didn't just send that ant back. It's also regenerating your wounds. So, can you live now? Don't die, okay?]
