Chapter three
Forging anew
Wadding through this fog was no easy task but I managed it. I quickly passed the Graves towards the howling, trapped banshees I might add. Their screams were horrid by the way. Them being constantly surrounded by the living and the dead and all.
They were natural predators of the living not the dead. But thanks to the lack of prey they had to switch targets. To that of the souls of the dead devouring their form leaving them as nothing more than memories. To which of course caused me to hear the finale screams of all said ghost and souls. Making the usually ten minute wadding into a thirty to fourty five minutes slog fest of noise. Problems of the dead, and worst yet? You had to council the dead and lost. So that they don't try to take over your body or attempt to devour your soul for the evil ones.
Though most evil souls dont live long for their usually exterminated with prejudice.
All that to say it was a long journey to the town of forgotten memories. one of three entrances to this underground, overgrown, cave system of a island nation.
I mentally spat out that last part as i walked casually over a living corpse.though of course it was actively asking for help though all it could do was wine. I ignored it, father said only evil men and women become zombies due to the sheer amount.. of will you need to refuse to die and ignore the gates of judgment returning to you corpse of a body.
I sighed wondering what they hell that bastard did to deserve having its soul sucked out by a banshee.
Whatever.
I can't believe father built a nation in a subterranean cave system. Hollowing it out for a bunker is one thing. But using it for the base and capital of your nation is another. Worst yet.
I swung my hands in the air my clothes ragged from melting my body
We live in the glorious in the middle of the ocean
City! I threw out some jazz hands for effect but of course it didn't help.
I looked down walking and zigzaging around corpse as.. Memories flowed through me and before I'd begone to. Nevermind point is i was walking for awhile before I realized i almost stepped into the they screech and I die section.
I scrunched my mouth then simply bit my tongue using blood magic father taught me to summon servants. And waited for them or one of them to appear... waited... waited..!
"Thats it ill just run faster than they can screech!"
Only for a hand to stop me a wrinkled hand at that. I looked to my right only to see.. an appearing phantom, how interesting.
5 minutes later and I gave up trying to talk to the old man. He refused to speak and simply walked past the screeching banshees. And didn't die, weirdest part. He was walking if you could call it walking more like folding and flowing to and from the banshees as if to show me.. what?
He pointed at himself then me then did it again.
...
10 minutes later
i have no idea how to get off the island and that those banshee are currently, in the way.
I gesturd forwards to the screeching rotting banshees. My eyes felt blank as they for reasons unknown. stopped screeching, unholy screams once they noticed I saw them and..
They returned from a profane form to a more delicate lady wearing long white dresses. The sleeves hanging below their hands which. Began to reach for me, all but begging for me to come forward. Till i flipped them the bird and they screeched once more their clothes ripped. Flesh rotting grey.. It was a sight if nothing else and I proceeded to point to them to the old man.
And he just looked at me eyes rye with humor, mistief and all thats wrong in the world. But, he was my only lead to getting out of here. With out fighting at least and thats what worried me.
Despite being the son of the man who single handedly brought the dead to the world to the living. On mass i had no experience in the dead and their family of.. ghost phantom wraiths banshees and so on you get the point.
"No. I don't get the point"
I froze he could hear me?
"When your being loud enough with your thoughts that I could find you. Theirs a problem."
I swallowed at that, then realized with horror.. what? He read my thoughts well guess it doesn't ma—
The old men lifted an eyebrow at me as if to say you sure you wanna say that.
"Hmm well then old man how do I walk as you do"
You don't, you run... then his teeth began to grow his eyes grow dark and his frail frame in ragged Grey clothes began to rip.
"Oh your an evil phantom"
It chuckled and sprang at me and I simply side stepped it. No longer a being worth mt time I began to mutter to myself of vague notions and irritations.
Grauhhhhhhhhh withough even looking i simply felt for the mana in the air. I tilted my head to the left dodging a spearing strike of the hand.
Grah! hah!! Ruuuuuuuuuuahhh!!! I casually leaned to the left the waves of mana flowing. The way the vibrated then contracted i bent my knees going low. The way he made noises every time he attacked as though it took a lot out of him to strike. Simply done with this baboon of an old man I melted my body once more causing ripples to appear below and around—
Lights flashed and I was in a white canopy garden full of lush life, butterflies and all the insects you'd expect of..
"Why so blue friend?"
I swallowed. By the four winds.
"Yeah come and play with us"
I just got tricked into trading myself.. in a banshees home!
"C O M E A N D P L A Y." dark eyes white out where the eyes would be gave me the impression that. Im seeing the forms they had while they were living. Cute. But disastrous for me.
So this how It ends huh, fine ill go out my own way. with that thought in mind i began too— then I thought better of what i was about to say and stayed quiet.
" simply put, I escaped. Thats all you need to know. Got it?"
A female voice spoke "you sure thats all you want to say? Those could be your last words ya know."
"Yeah im sure that all I want to say to you dragons."
