Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: First Mission

Kelvin stood alone inside the ruined building.

The mission was clear.

"Induce fear in 3 humans."

He opened his eyes slowly.

"So this is my first real task…"

Without wasting time, he grabbed a rusty iron rod from the broken structure and placed a sharp knife in his pocket.

No hesitation.

No fear.

He walked out into the streets of New York.

Queens Valley.

The night air was cold. The streets were darker here—less crowded, more dangerous.

After walking for a while, Kelvin noticed a group of people standing near an abandoned corner.

Five men.

One woman.

They were drinking, smoking, laughing loudly. Alcohol bottles in their hands. Drugs in their system. The atmosphere was messy, unstable.

One of them noticed Kelvin.

"Hey… look what we got here," he laughed.

The others turned their attention toward him.

Kelvin lowered his head slightly.

His expression changed.

He looked weak.

Lost.

Confused.

A perfect disguise.

He slowly walked toward them.

"…I think I lost my way," he said softly. "Can you help me?"

The group laughed.

"A lost kid in Queens? Lucky day," one of them said.

The woman smirked. "Maybe we should take him somewhere safe…"

They believed he was harmless.

A victim.

A target.

But they were wrong.

Kelvin looked up slightly.

For a moment—silence.

Then his hand moved.

Fast.

The iron rod came out.

CRACK!

The first strike hit one of the men directly.

He fell instantly.

Blood hit the ground.

The atmosphere changed in a second.

Confusion… then fear.

"What the—?!"

Two men rushed forward to grab him.

But Kelvin moved faster.

He dodged, stepped back, and struck again.

One hit to the head.

Another to the ribs.

Pain. Panic. Chaos.

The group that was laughing moments ago was now shaking in fear.

The woman screamed and stepped back.

"This kid is crazy!"

Two more tried to attack him together and managed to grab him.

For a moment, Kelvin was held.

But then—

A dark smile formed on his face.

He twisted his body sharply, breaking their grip, and drove the iron rod into one of them.

The man collapsed instantly.

The second one froze.

That hesitation was enough.

Kelvin struck again.

Now only a few remained.

The woman and two terrified men.

They looked at him differently now.

Not as prey.

But as a monster.

Fear spread across their faces.

Blue energy appeared in Kelvin's vision everywhere.

Fear.

Pure fear.

He could see it clearly.

He walked forward slowly.

Step by step.

No rush.

No emotion.

The remaining men turned and ran.

The woman followed them in panic.

"HE'S NOT NORMAL! RUN!"

They disappeared into the dark streets.

Kelvin didn't chase them.

He simply stood there… watching.

Then he looked at his hands.

"…So this is fear."

A faint smile appeared on his face.
