Chapter 1 Golden Dragon Enters the Body, Survives the Car Crash
"Driver! Stop! Stop the car now!"
Lin Haoran clutched his stomach, his face bright red and his voice shaking. A sharp cramp twisted in his abdomen, and if he was even a second late, he would embarrass himself in front of the entire bus.
The bus slammed on its brakes, and the driver poked his head out impatiently. "What are you doing out here in the middle of nowhere?"
"I have diarrhea! I'll be back in five minutes!" Before Lin Haoran finished speaking, he had already jumped off the bus. But he had barely run three steps when the door slammed shut and the bus sped away, leaving a cloud of dust behind.
"Damn it!" Lin Haoran cursed, but he had no time to be angry. Glancing up, he saw a dense thicket of trees ten meters from the road and plunged into it without hesitation.
He found the most secluded patch of grass and squatted down. Just as he breathed a sigh of relief, he heard laughter from a man and a woman not far away.
He froze and peeked up cautiously. A dozen meters away, in another clump of grass, a man and a woman in their thirties were tangled together, their clothes disheveled, clearly having an affair in secret.
Lin Haoran was so embarrassed he wanted to disappear. He held his breath, just wanting to finish and leave as soon as possible. But at that moment, a cold touch brushed against his leg.
He looked down, and his heart skipped a beat.
A small snake, about the thickness of a chopstick and pale gold all over, was staring up at him. It had two tiny bumps on its head, and its scales shimmered strangely in the shade. It didn't look like an ordinary snake at all—it looked like a tiny dragon from legends.
Before Lin Haoran could react, the little golden snake lunged forward like lightning and bit him hard on the inner thigh!
"Ah!"
Agonizing pain shot through him, and Lin Haoran screamed.
The couple, startled by the sound, were terrified. They didn't even bother to dress properly, grabbed their things and ran away in a panic, not daring to look back.
Lin Haoran paid them no mind and hurriedly looked down at the wound. But what he saw left him completely stunned.
The golden snake was already lying on its back, dead on the grass. And where he had been bitten, there wasn't even a red mark, let alone a wound.
Just as he was confused, a scalding hot current suddenly exploded from the bitten spot, flowing through his veins like magma to every part of his body. His bones made faint cracking sounds, his eyes burned, and it felt like a thousand needles were pricking his brain.
"What's happening..."
Lin Haoran felt the world spin, everything went black, and he collapsed face down in the grass, unconscious.
I don't know how long passed before he suddenly opened his eyes.
Sunlight filtered through the leaves and shone on his face, making him squint. He raised his hand to check his watch, and his pupils constricted sharply—it was already 3:40!
The teacher's meeting at 4 o'clock!
Lin Haoran jumped up with a jolt. He had been teaching at Fucheng Town Middle School for three years, with a pitifully low salary, relying entirely on this full attendance bonus and performance pay. If he missed this meeting, that mean Principal Wang would definitely deduct every last cent of his bonus this month.
He brushed the grass off his body haphazardly, stumbled out of the forest, and stood by the road waving desperately.
But car after car drove past him, and none of them stopped.
"Damn it!" Lin Haoran was so anxious he was pacing back and forth. He gritted his teeth and walked straight into the middle of the road, spreading his arms to stop the next car coming.
But he never expected that the car coming towards him was not a sedan, but a large truck loaded with goods!
The truck driver had no idea someone would suddenly appear in the middle of the road. He honked frantically and slammed on the brakes. The tires left long black marks on the road, screeching loudly.
But it was too late.
BOOM!
A deafening crash rang out. Lin Haoran was sent flying like a rag doll, his body arcing through the air before crashing heavily onto the roadside twenty meters away.
Blood instantly stained the ground.
The truck driver turned pale with fear and scrambled out of the cab. He checked Lin Haoran's breath and then his pulse, and collapsed to the ground in terror.
"It's over... I killed someone..."
But at that moment, no one saw that under Lin Haoran's skin, a faint golden light was flowing rapidly.
His heart, which had stopped beating, suddenly thumped and started beating again.
And it was beating stronger and faster, more and more powerfully.
The golden light wrapped around his broken bones and damaged internal organs, repairing them at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Lin Haoran's finger twitched slightly.
